Does anyone else get in PHs/bed about 6pm?

Obviously this will be hard if you work later or have kids etc.

I work from home most days. I finish at 5. Have a bath, get in PJs and then chill in bed watching TV/ reading/ relaxing all evening. This is during the darker months really (November - March). I don't know what else to do with myself and just feel tired tbh. I go to sleep at around 9pm.

In the summer it tends to be a bit later as it feels there is more of the evening, plus I have more energy. I may go for a walk after work for example.

Is it just me who does this? I still tend to be tired in the morning though, I need more sleep during the winter than summer. In summer I wake at 5:30 no issue, in the winter it's more 7:45.

I think if you are happy doing this op then that’s all that matters. It does seem
like a lot of sleep and I think weirdly too much sleep can cause lethargy.
Also a few of my friends are on antidepressants and say it makes them feel very lethargic and more tired so they probably are contributing to that.
I have 3 dcs , a job , just me and dh juggling so on the go constantly, i would say I’m very high sleep needs but my dcs for years woke constantly so I had literally 8 years between all of them of chronic sleep deprivation. I then developed insomnia as a result after the all finally slept through ( still easier than getting up with dcs at night though !) so I definitely feel I need 8 hours + and tbh still feel like I’m in recovery.
I will say though pre kids I loved sleep but used to oversleep and this actually made me lethargic and headachy. Im now more into running and try to run every second day and find the more I move etc the more energy I have so I’d up your exercise if you can for energy.
How many hours are you sleeping a night ? It’s seems unlikely you are really tired as you say if you’ve been in bed 11 hours or more, it’s prob lethargy caused by lack of movement /oversleeping. I do love my bed at the end of the day but my day consists of work , dealing with 3 dcs , lots of physical work and movement and constant talking and dealing with people all day and children after school, we go out a lot also as the dcs have huge amounts of energy. So I like many parents are exhausted by 9pm but now my eldest doesn’t go to bed until 9pm /9.30 so I’m usually asleep 10.30/11 as need some downtime to myself , back up at 6.30 , I always wake up at night and often have disturbed nights (random stuff like youngest wakes to use bathroom, one has nightmares and I’m now an incredibly light sleeper unfortunately)
Have you always needed this amount of sleep?
