Does anyone else get in PHs/bed about 6pm?

Obviously this will be hard if you work later or have kids etc.

I work from home most days. I finish at 5. Have a bath, get in PJs and then chill in bed watching TV/ reading/ relaxing all evening. This is during the darker months really (November - March). I don't know what else to do with myself and just feel tired tbh. I go to sleep at around 9pm.

In the summer it tends to be a bit later as it feels there is more of the evening, plus I have more energy. I may go for a walk after work for example.

Is it just me who does this? I still tend to be tired in the morning though, I need more sleep during the winter than summer. In summer I wake at 5:30 no issue, in the winter it's more 7:45.

I get in my pjs as soon as I get home. Unless I'm wfh, in which case I wear my pjs all day (I don't wear pjs to bed, they're more like lounge wear).

I don't get into bed though but am usually in bed to sleep around 8 at the moment (pregnant and exhausted). Would usually be around 10pm.

LetsDoThis2023 · 15/01/2023 16:09

Well it's a parenting website... 🤷🏻‍♀️

WaddleAway · 15/01/2023 16:11

No, I don’t tend to go upstairs until I’m ready to sleep, at about 11pm. I wouldn’t like to lie in bed all evening. If it works for you though it’s not a problem!

Rebel2023 · 15/01/2023 16:14

I'm in pjs fairly early
Finish work (around 4.30), home workout then cook and eat. Shower then pjs so maybe 6.30/7?
Tend to watch TV or read for a bit and end up pissing about until midnight Confused doing stuff

Greensleevevssnotnose · 15/01/2023 16:16

I WFH so in pjs all day, except for meetingd when I have a smart top I put on. Don't get into bed until 11 tho.

PetitPorpoise · 15/01/2023 16:29

I get into lounge clothes as soon as I get in to keep my work stuff looking nice. I don't put pyjamas on until I'm going to bed though because I like them to be clean.

I tend to lie on my bed for a bit after putting the children to beat 7.30 in case they decide to mess about. Sometimes this means I fall asleep and I'm still there at 9! I do try to get back downstairs though because otherwise I don't feel like i've had an evening away from work and children.

Parky04 · 15/01/2023 16:31

Just had a bath and now in PJs! Not in bed though.

LlynTegid · 15/01/2023 16:34

No, not until bedtime. Wouldn't feel warm enough on evenings such as are expected this week.

Supernova23 · 15/01/2023 16:35

No. I don't get back from work until 9pm. I'll shower, eat something, then go to bed afterwards.

On a non working day, I go to bed around 9-10pm, but often don't sleep but watch things on my phone for a while. 6pm would be far too early for me.

TenoringBehind · 15/01/2023 17:01

PJs never before 9pm or so. Part of my gradual winding down before bed routine. Bed at about 11 pm. I’m out 4/5 nights a week so PJs not an option then! On the evenings I am home it just wouldn’t occur to me to put them on earlier. I think it would make me feel sleepy.

AceofPentacles · 15/01/2023 18:05

Yes I love putting pjs on after work and watching something on the iPad in the bedroom. I'm usually knackered by 6pm as I'm on the go from 5.30am and sleep badly too.

TheLostNights · 15/01/2023 18:11

Once kids are in bed I go up to bed and watch TV snuggled under the duvet and always change into pj's straight after work

BamBamBilla · 15/01/2023 18:12

I get into comfy clothes but not into bed. I'll watch tv or read a book in the evenings.

Mol1628 · 15/01/2023 18:14

I change into pjs straight from work, I get home about 5/5.30 most days. Cook tea. Get kids ready for bed then I’m in bed for 8pm latest. Love it. I love just chilling in my bedroom watching tv or reading.

Phoenixrising2020 · 15/01/2023 18:17

I love to do this when I'm at home.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 15/01/2023 18:21

Yep pjs on and in bed to watch tv. Live on my own though. These dark evenings I’m drawn to my bed at 5:30 🤣

Babyclb · 15/01/2023 18:21

You have almost 11 hours of sleep at night! That’s probably why you are tired.

Honestly I like to relax but I would probably become depressed spending 15 hours in bed and the only other hours of the day working.
It sounds utterly demotivating.

FeathersSpitting · 15/01/2023 18:28

No, I love my bed but no that's too early for me. I have a weekly tv night with one set of friends, go swimming twice a week with another, have one evening where I have a long bath, sort my toenails out, put a face mask on etc. I also work late on day a week.

Are you depressed OP? Do you not see friends or family?

fishonabicycle · 15/01/2023 18:40

In winter PJ's on when I get in from work, but I don't go to bed til 10-10.30, read til 11-11.30. no TV in bedroom.

Dogsgottabone · 15/01/2023 18:40

I get home from work and get changed into comfy joggers etc and sleep bra, take off make up. Then collect DC from school bus at 6.30 and then do everyone's dinner and bath one of the DC and into bed by 9.05pm if I can manage it. I'm broken by 7pm most days. Summer or winter.

Goodadvice1980 · 15/01/2023 18:43

Yep, that’s me 😂 especially during darker winter evenings

Benjispruce4 · 15/01/2023 18:48

No. I go to bed around 11pm and get into bed clothes then.

Benjispruce4 · 15/01/2023 18:49

I cook a round 5/6 pm then we eat, the walk the dog, then get showered and make lunch for work the next day, then watch TV then bed.

Benjispruce4 · 15/01/2023 18:51

That’s if I’m home. Some nights will be Zumba or book club.

hopeishere · 15/01/2023 18:54

No. But like you say I've kids etc. even when I didn't I never did that!
