Sorry. Another Andrew Tate thread

Having been following the Greta / Tate stuff on a number of different sites (and cheering Greta on so hard!) I see time and time again men (and yes it's men) posting about how if they were allowed their masculinity, Tate wouldn't have the fans but they get told that masculinity is toxic, how it's been taken away from them, how they are an "underclass".

What exactly has been taken away from men?!

As far as I can tell, Tate followers don't like the fact that women will no longer put up with being second class. Won't put up with being harassed or sexually assaulted. Are willing to stand up for themselves and be counted.

Are this section of men really so very weak that they are so threatened by this?

Less time chatting about Tate here, and more time realising its male fanily friends and relatives introducing Tate's nonsense to youths' ears. Alongside those men making throwaway sexist remarks constantly in the home, and not pulled up on their "banter".

People seem to be so naive, forever thinking of outside influence and thinking it could never be via anyone they know. Most of the time it is.

Tate bots also seem to be trawling women's forums these days, desperate to fill boards with Tate talk and no doubt thats what they do in real life too. If you never think its a male friend or relative you'll never tackle the issue. Good that schools are aiming to counteract tho.

I've had to dissacociate from a friend's brother who is so bitter nowadays, talking about 'the top 1% of men' being those that all women want, women are shallow bitches etc. He never, ever spoke this way previously. & he has sons. It became his sole topic of conversation.

In reality he's not a particularly hardworking man, not so well educated, and definitely isn't a trier when it comes to life. It's easier to blame women for their non-achievements I guess.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 30/12/2022 02:01

It would be progress if the makers of programmes like Big Brother didn’t promote these horrible, toxic A holes in the first place.

Of course it comes from family and peers.

I hear the mums say they talk to their sons about these things.

Where are the fathers?
Why aren't they talking to and teaching their sons like they're supposed to be?

A mum's 10 minute talk and watching a 2 hour tv program doesn't mean much when the rest of the time she's skivvying for all the males in the household.

When these things go on at the school, what are the schools doing? Are they sending home newsletters addressing these topics or contacting the parents of boys who spout misogynistic shit at school?

Tate isn't the problem. The issue is the obsessed individuals that hate / love him.

Oh, I think Tate might be the problem.

"Controversial online influencer and self-described misogynist Andrew Tate has been detained in Romania on charges of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group, authorities confirmed.

More than likely bogus charges imo, seems he has offended some higher ups

This. This is what really worries me.

Not going to lie, the “go Greta” sentiment worries me too. There are ways and then ways of doing things. That online spat could, in hindsight, have been done better. It’s not about him, it’s about the amount of people who follow him. Her phrasing is a red rag to a farm of bulls.

I am definitely NOT advocating #bekind. Fuck that. But when you have a platform as large as GT, think before you tweet. You might have a “gotcha” for the complete idiot you’re engaging with, but you need to consider the cesspit that follows people like that. This is going to rile numerous people.

I support women who stand up bravely. Unfortunately, they need to (as always) stand up at twice the height of men. This online spat (despite his arrest - hurrah) does not necessarily make women safer. He may be behind bars, for now (and maybe not for long), but this will have invoked rage amongst various communities.

There is no escape now from social media. If you’re going to engage, you need to not incite with inflammatory language.

Yup. I don’t do “celebrity” gossip. It’s only over the last couple of weeks that I’ve become aware of these guys.

Both of them seem vile from what I’ve read. How any woman could want to be with them, especially when you can easily see what they’re like, is beyond me.

Fuck knows how their parents feel - am not singling out mums or dads, am definitely saying parents. But there is something seriously wrong with parenting, for bloody decades and, weirdly, it’s not daughters who keep hitting the headlines.

Am obviously getting really old now. But social media is worsening with regards to how kids grow up. Parents are, through no fault of their own, too busy trying to each work jobs to keep a roof over heads. In the meantime, boys are fed info that women are playthings and girls think that they need to attain some higher sense of beauty and sexuality or they’re nothing.

MadelineUsher · 30/12/2022 04:35

Bogus charges? Do you think they invented the women who have been exploited and forced to produce pornographic content?

namitynamechange · 30/12/2022 05:23

I am going to sound really old now, and a bit daily mail rant but if anything I think the problem might be too much softly, softly, what about their feelings rather than not listening to "disenfranchised" children.

e.g. Disobediance in school: 100 years ago that would have led to the cane (glad we don't do that any more); 50 years ago it would have been a proper bollocking, and backed up by the parent, maybe 20 years ago some parents would have been all "don't shout at my poor darling". Now some dads seem to be high fiving their sons for calling their teacher a bitch, some mothers are handwringing that little darling doesn't seem to take on board that calling someone a bitch is hurtful and a lot of online "strong male influencers" are on hand to explain why your teacher telling you to sit down and listen is actually a symptom of toxic feminism and unfair because men are hunter gatherers and cannot be expected to work quietly for 40 minutes or not call women bitches.

Don't get me wrong, I think being a teenager is hard, I think being a teenage boy is hard. Especially these days. But at the end of the day if you act like a little shit adults won't like you very much and if you don't sit down and shut up sometimes in school you won't learn anything and people will think you are stupid. And if you give all your money to grifters like Tate or the cam-girls he employs you will be poor and he will be rich. That isn't the matriarchy or toxic feminism that's just life. I don't see how pretending that isn't the case is actually helping "disenfranchised" 15 year olds

*not all

Readabookgroucho · 30/12/2022 07:15

‘I think being complacent, ignoring him, belittling his “fans” is a very risky game. I’d rather tackle it head on, although I’m genuinely not sure how best to do that.’

arresting him for rape and sex trafficking seems like a good start.

BastardtheCat · 30/12/2022 07:42

TooBigForMyBoots · 29/12/2022 19:56

There's fewer AT fans today than yesterday. No one's fault but his own.🤦‍♀️ A grown man, AT went up against a teenage woman, nearly half his age and embarrassed himself all over the internet.

Times are hard, things are expensive, I will enjoy my chortling. It's free.😊😂😂

This!

Sadly his video reply absolutely knocked her pathetic retort out of the park

Yeah exposing his location, leading to arrest really showed Greta! Sadly, this post didn’t age well at all did it? Bless you for trying though 👍🏻

PriamFarrl · 30/12/2022 08:00

I do agree that the problem isn’t him per se but that he is attracting any kind of following. It’s that there are boys out there who see this as desirable. That there are boys who are seeing nothing wrong with treating girls this way. That there are boys who are seeing this without parents knowing allowing them to counteract it.

Monoprix · 29/12/2022 14:39

The dick doesn’t understand how ridiculous he sounds when he brags about his wealth, possessions, and car collection..
Who the hell is stupid enough to buy that many cars? Who is he trying to impress? Other dicks, I suppose.
I just can’t get past around the number of his stupid cars…it’s when daft little kids start bragging about their toys. Get a life!

Any rap video at random spouts the same shit tbh.

LadyWithLapdog · 30/12/2022 08:25

So now AT says he has the utmost respect for Romanian authorities. The grovelling little prick.

@Burgoo thanks for taking the time to write that, though it makes for depressing reading.

MadelineUsher · 30/12/2022 08:44

I do agree that the problem isn’t him per se

How is the problem not him, per se?! He is the one mass-marketing and monetising these views, he is the one with the enormous following, he is the one promoting the views that women belong to men and that victims of rape are partially responsible, he is the one who bragged about moving to Romania, saying 40% of the reason was it was easier to evade rape charges there, and now he is the one arrested over exploitation, sex trafficking, and rape charges. (Along with his brother and others.)

WaddleAway · 30/12/2022 08:50

hotdiggetydog · 29/12/2022 22:56

He's a breath of fresh air!

Are you a woman? If so, he despises you.

Ncgirlseriously · 30/12/2022 08:54

Hilarious that he got arrested. Also, I’d never seen a picture of him before yesterday so my first reaction was “Oh he’s bald? That explains a lot” (No shade to bald guys in general but there’s a certain flavour of bald guy that’s just Like That). 😂

He’s a loser.

LadyWithLapdog · 30/12/2022 08:55

I hope he gets lots of fresh air in Romania’s prisons if the charges of rape and human trafficking are sustained.

Pedallleur · 30/12/2022 08:57

Fast cars, guns, virile male image, $$$$ all the usual shit that appeals to many the world over. Somehow their lives are being taken away by women, gay people, lawyers, politicians, cyclists etc. The internet is a breeding ground for people like Tate.

Pedallleur · 30/12/2022 09:01

Andrew Tate, YouTuber arrested in E. Europe. Greta, makes the cover of Time magazine for trying to change the world. I know which is the better role model

MissyB1 · 30/12/2022 09:18

Just watched a video of his arrest, the silly prick whines “the matrix has got me”

okaaay…. 😂

But it’s all a hoax innit? Climate change doesn’t exist 🤫 we just won’t talk about all the extreme weather events.

RoarsomeTeramorphous · 30/12/2022 09:19

This is the big one that people overlook - some men think that they get told to be "nice, kind, caring" and that "looks don't matter". Yet they see women getting with "bad" guys who treat them bad and they think "this is all bullshit, it's stacked against me".

This is actually a worryingly toxic comment that seems to have gone unnoticed in the thread - this shows that men have a sense of entitlement to women that they believe they deserve, and that women don’t deserve choice in the matter. It is interesting that the comment was proffered by a man.

There is a concerning amount of ‘nice guys’ who fake niceness and then become scarily aggressive when they don’t get what they want. Promoting entitlement for men is not a ‘big thing that people overlook’ it is part of the problem. Neither men or women ‘deserve’ a life partner and if a particular group is constantly alone, constantly rejected, then why is that seen as the fault of women, instead of them looking internally?
