I've just googled him but didn't see anything but he's that guy from Celebrity Gogglebox with that actress? What did he say/do?

I quite enjoy the name dropping, it makes for interesting anecdotes. He’s not really my cup of tea, mainly because of his obsequiousness towards the royal family. But I don’t feel that strongly. Have I missed something terrible? What was the misogyny?

He’s on Steph’s packed lunch daily offering pretty sexist 1950s style views on callers issues. He’s on lots of panel shows. Talk shows. Gogglebox. He was on QI the other day and didn’t let anyone else speak - just name dropping stories after name dropping stories.

I mean I’m not saying he’s a despicable human being that needs to be wiped off the earth. But I don’t understand why I’m 2022 he’s had somewhat of a renaissance with his horrible old fashioned and non progressive viewpoints

@Fulmar they don’t have to be progressive but I’m not sure hurtling back to the 80’s Tory attitude is doing many people any good

I find him incredibly annoying. Seems to be full of his own self importance.

That said, I don’t agree with cancel culture either. Seems a bit authoritarian.

I think you are all being a bit mean . Crikey for his age he has a huge amount of energy and a great social life . Yes he knows lots of people and has written a book about the queen . I think he just has a huge appetite for life . Good for him .

Gyles Brandreth has led a very interesting life and rarely says a bad word about anyone. Has an enormous zest for life and is funny, as a PP said.

Or what about someone who gratuitously denigrates someone on an internet forum? Someone for whom the phrase 'be kind' seems to have passed them by? You just know that person is mean-spirited and joyless. Is a drain not a radiator.

Not much of a contest in my book.

His age or the fact that he is white should have absolutely nothing to do with it.

I don't watch goggle box or This Morning but I make a point of listening to him when he is on one of the many radio panel quiz / comedy shows.

Agreed - so few children with the wherewithal to go into museum ownership these days - another symptom of snowflake culture. I said the same about Victoria and Albert and their museum of childhood.

Actually he didn't say that, he said by talking about it, his comments are getting attention, so to ignore them with a stony silence will not bring Clarkson the attention he was hoping for.
