To ask what exactly Clarkson

Feels Meghan has done to him to justify the vitriol and misogyny of that article he wrote where he’d like to see her naked and assaulted?

I mean WTF? How in earth did a major publication think that it was fine to publish his little sexual fantasy about hurting a woman like that?

I’m no fan of the Royals in any form, and could care less about their infighting, but why are we surprised that there is so much violence against women and girls when this kind of article by an influential man is seen as okay to write?
Where’s his description of a naked, vulnerable Harry being assaulted??

Because it's her behaviour that makes her irritating, not the colour of her skin.

@DrDinosaur

What has she done so badly to people like you or Jeremy Clarkson that makes you sit at home seething and liken her to someone like Rose West??

Neither I nor Jeremy Clarkson seriously believe she is like Rose West - it is obviously exaggeration for humorous effect.

Well done to his daughter Emily for posting this on her Instagram account. Must have taken guts.

I doubt it. They'll probably be in it together

Watching Loose Women, can’t believe that Janet Street-Porter has said what JC wrote is okay as it’s free speech.
WTF.

Decades ago Street-Porter honestly used to be a champion for the underdog and the yoof movement, she mocked her mother for reading the Mirror... but she changed, she's very right wing now.

Stunningscreamer · 19/12/2022 12:59

DrDinosaur · 19/12/2022 12:12

Yes.
Because it's her behaviour that makes her irritating, not the colour of her skin.
It is possible to dislike a black person without being motivated by racism.

There are serial killers who don't get written about as much as MM. It's not about the level of offence she's allegedly committed. It's the disproportionate reaction.

A couple of articles about her being annoying or high handed might be defensible. The daily vitriol that she receives (I know because it appears on my newsfeed but I choose not to read it) and this kind of article just aren't. I only know about it because of this thread and the radio piece on it, but I don't know how people can read stuff that's pulling someone apart on a daily basis. It's disgusting.

And it's happened to anyone who doesn't completely follow the party line in the Royal Family: Fergie, Diana and now MM. All those uppity women that aren't docile and ladylike. How dare they have their own opinions and do things their way.

That comment speaks volumes about you as well.

Boomboom22 · 19/12/2022 13:01

The BBC are talking about it. But she's not a young mum, if anything she's an older mum to have 2 very young children 😁 very patronising. I know they act like teenagers but they are both 40+

dementedma · 19/12/2022 13:01

Couldnt give a toss about MM but that was truly an appalling thing to write and publish.
He crossedca line with that one.

jtaeapa · 19/12/2022 13:02

I think JC is odious. He ought to lose his job or whatever it is at The Sun for writing that. However I don’t think the palace should comment on it. They aren’t supposed to interfere in stuff like that. It’s for the management at The Sun and whoever regulates the industry to deal with. And Meghan can complain if she wishes.

However, M&H have launched mega attacks on the palace lately and members of the RF in the Oprah/Netflix shenanigans, possibly with the intention of bringing down the monarchy. They cannot therefore expect the palace to step in to a furore about an article. They need to deal with it themselves if they so wish.

I am no fan of JC or M&H or the royals.

Actually Prince Harry is 38

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/12/2022 13:05

H&M complained about the racism she faced at the Palace.
Lady Susan Hussey was racist to a black guest of Camilla. Lady Susan Hussey was a Lady-in-waiting assigned to MM to help her acclimatise to royal life.

H&M complained about press treatment.
Jeremy Clarkson wrote a disgusting, misogynistic piece on MM. The Sun published it.

Starting to think H&M are right.Xmas Hmm

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 13:09

However, M&H have launched mega attacks on the palace lately and members of the RF in the Oprah/Netflix shenanigans, possibly with the intention of bringing down the monarchy. They cannot therefore expect the palace to step in to a furore about an article.

Their main complaint in the doc was that the palace were throwing them to the media wolves and not protecting them like other members of the family.

Clarkson publishes his disgusting rant.

And the palace can't even put out a note to say they condemn it.

You can't see how this is proving H&M's point and a spectacular own goal for the palace?

Who, let's not forget, we're happy to weigh in on topics like Kate's hair extensions and Botox.

Slothsandspiderman · 19/12/2022 13:10

I’m no fan of either JC or MM. However this is a truly abhorrent thing to say and publish. JC and the publishers should hang their heads in shame. In my eyes it’s a hate crime and should be treated as such

Clarkson claimed people his age agreed with him, anyone his age care to say whether that's true or not?

I'm older. It's absolutely not true.

Well said.

The silence coming from the Royal Family speaks volumes. I’m not surprised but am utterly disgusted by them all.

I like Harry and Meghan. As far as I can see they haven’t done anything wrong. They moved away and are getting on with their lives. Even when they’re quiet the tabloids have a million articles about them, all made up. Whoever said the press are radicalising people against Meghan is absolutely right.

wincarwoo · 19/12/2022 13:24

What is worse is that it's now bing reported word for word on BBC news with only his daughter as the line voice of objection. I'm no fan of MM but this is disgusting.

tulips27 · 19/12/2022 11:38

Who's a "hairy-hander", sorry? Interesting turn of phrase. 😀

Hairy hands is used on MN when a poster makes a comment ostensibly from a woman's POV, but gives themselves away as a man through the content or tone of the post (surprisingly easy to spot). Men are of course welcome on MN, but hairy hands are specifically men who come in to either live out some weird fantasy as an OP, or make horrid comments that they believe are more "acceptable" coming from women. I said Dinosaur was a hairy-hander as the comment is so anti-women it's blatantly some Reddit idiot wandered over to join in a bun fight.

RaRaRaspoutine · 19/12/2022 13:26

OmiOmy · 19/12/2022 12:47

It's almost as if his evil comments were too much even for the racists... I suppose even vile people have a limit.

Oh, everyone who reads the Times are racist trope. Hmm

Where did I say that? Lady doth protest too much etc,

When Meghan or Harry posts a masturbatory fantasy about parading Camilla through the streets and covering her in shit, then and only then will this comment make even an iota of sense outside of an asylum. "Oh yes Jeremy was bad but MEGHAN AND HARRY must suffer in silence for not shutting up."

RaRaRaspoutine · 19/12/2022 13:30

Tips for those trying to troll: the phrase "woke californian" is only ever typed by Mountain Dew-reeking neckbeards who have taken a break from 4chan.

UseOfWeapons · 19/12/2022 13:30

Can't stand JC, he's an arrogant arse, and although I have no time for MM, he's way out of line with this. Hope he's pulled up on this and has to withdrawal and apologise. Disgraceful, how would he feel if someone wrote this about his daughter.

FrippEnos · 19/12/2022 13:31

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 12:25

Just so that we don't forget, Flack was an abuser that smashed a lamp in to her sleeping boyfriends head.

Looked like a complicated relationship and we all make mistakes. Does that make the press campaign that hounded her to her death okay then?

Why should Camilla have to say anything?

Because she's been hanging out socially with two men who've said disgusting things about her DIL in the press. For her own reputation she should be distancing herself from them and their words. But her / the palace's actions are doing nothing but prove H&M's point.

You are the one that defending an abusive person by claiming that she made a mistake so you tell me.

As to whether Camilla hung out with these two men is unproven, she was in the same room as to whether she interacted with them we don't know.

Why oh why do people keep qualifying their comments with anxious reassurances to us all that they don't like Meghan..

Twillow · 19/12/2022 13:33

He obviously thinks he's part of the establishment and what he has written has exposed the fact that insidious racism and misogyny is well and truly alive. His daughter has said she is horrified.
