Feels Meghan has done to him to justify the vitriol and misogyny of that article he wrote where he’d like to see her naked and assaulted?

I mean WTF? How in earth did a major publication think that it was fine to publish his little sexual fantasy about hurting a woman like that?

I’m no fan of the Royals in any form, and could care less about their infighting, but why are we surprised that there is so much violence against women and girls when this kind of article by an influential man is seen as okay to write?
Where’s his description of a naked, vulnerable Harry being assaulted??

Dames Judy Dench, Maggie Smith and Maureen Lipman were there too.

Not really relevant as Meghan isn't their DIL

Plus Dench would turn up to the opening of an envelope nowadays, Smith and Lipman have made incredibly nasty comments towards other women in the past. Birds of a feather.

Roussette · 19/12/2022 11:12

RaRaRaspoutine · 19/12/2022 11:10

Ah so it's Meghan's fault for not shutting up and disappearing. Got it. Seriously hope you don't have daughters.

Yes. She was asking for it. Hmm

I sometimes think I must be on a different forum, I really do.

Camilla was pictured at a lunch with Clarkson the day after this repulsive screed was published. Also in attendance was Piers Morgan, who's waged a grinding, relentless vendetta against Markle that bears all the hallmarks of a fixation. Lest we forget, she is a patron for charities supporting victims of VAWG, an issue of epidemic proportions which sees women murdered every week.

IMO she is no fit person to act as any kind of ambassador for abused women. To make matters worse Windsor PR has not issued any statement of condemnation against Clarkson's misogynistic hate-speech. With and with recent confirmation of credible death threats against her, there is no wonder Markle feared for her safety.

How would it feel to read those words about yourself? Clarkson made me realise for the first time the hell that woman really has been up against. The silence of her in-laws speaks volumes, and says a lot about their characters.

It's an ugly picture.

I keep checking for news that the Royal Family have released a statement condemning Clarkson, and the rest, for the article, and stating their support of Meghan, but so far complete silence. If they don’t do it very soon, they will miss their chance and it will be to their shame.

Bluekerfuffle · 19/12/2022 11:15

Yep, don’t know why the news site let that through. As well as it being a disgusting thing to wish on anyone, it really angers me that he’s picked her and left out Harry. I would say he’s more to blame for any hurt or issues he’s caused HIS family, but of course it’s only the woman that must be paraded naked and punished.

tara66 · 19/12/2022 11:16

Not read many PPs but keep thinking how many men (or women) think like JC and that H +M never realised/considered their security would be very much at risk from all their complaints about RF and always will be and also that of their children probably. They have stirred up a hornets' nest. How did they never think of this?

Untitledsquatboulder · 19/12/2022 11:16

The silence from the Palace is deafening and disappointing but utterly unsurprising.

Emotionalsupportviper · 19/12/2022 11:17

What is "Baby Botox"?

Nogbreaks · 19/12/2022 11:17

‘keep checking for news that the Royal Family have released a statement condemning Clarkson, and the rest, for the article, and stating their support of Meghan, but so far complete silence.’

theynwont do it because it doesn’t serve them.
Clarkson has literally just been at a Christmas party with Camilla,
Queen consort, MIL of the woman he loathes so much Amber would see her naked and assaulted in the streets.
THAT’s how little the palace or the people in it care.
if he’d have said anything even remotely similar about Kate, the other DIL, all hell would have broken loose.

It was the Sun with a female Chief Editor. A disgrace

Bluekerfuffle · 19/12/2022 11:17

@Morestrangethings , I don’t think it’s really up to the royal family to release a statement about this, it had nothing to do with them. They’ve never done it before when any of them has been insulted.

BlessMyCottonSocks · 19/12/2022 11:20

I’ve got very little time for either Meghan or Harry but Clarkson’s piece was truly, truly vile, absolutely nauseating. And I too feel sorry for Clarkson’s daughter.

How in the world can anyone think that this is acceptable? Clearly it’s not only Clarkson but the editorial team too as they’ve passed it.

vera99 · 19/12/2022 11:20

Dear Jezza,

Meghan Markle is worse than Rose West. Super. How? What has she done? None of you frothing gammon twats seem to be able to tell us what exactly she has done that is so awful. Similar as to why you can’t explain what is so terrible about ‘woke’, which seems to leave you so apoplectic…

Can you and all you fucking supposed "Friends of Camilla" - take your ire and after shoving it up your fat, hairy arse focus on the Prince of Nonces about to get a £3milion pound a year security bung from King Charles 3 (first one beheaded, lest we forget ) and fuck off and take the fucking Scum newspaper with you

yours sincerely most of the British public

FrostyFifi · 19/12/2022 08:26

I thought he was describing that Game of Thrones scene.

I thought the same tbh

tulips27 · 19/12/2022 11:21

Carol Vorderman is one of the most famous people who tweeted about it, retweet and like her tweet if you're on there.

I'm disturbed to see 10% think YABU, no doubt some of them will be the male users of the site but as for the rest, it's just yet more evidence of internalised misogyny.

tulips27 · 19/12/2022 11:21

*more famous

Lesserspottedmama · 19/12/2022 11:22

NoShrunking · 19/12/2022 10:49

Perfect summary.

I find she rubs me up the wrong way as she seems to do for most people, I can’t make myself like her at all or feel much pity for her in her luxury lifestyle. But I agree with all of this.

Wavingnotdrown1ng · 19/12/2022 11:22

CuriousMama · 19/12/2022 10:10

I think JC needs a trip to the GP. That's a totally unhinged thing to think never mind have printed.

Well done Em. Really feel for her.

I agree. When I read the coverage on here and in other media of what had been written by him, I wondered if this was early-onset dementia. I still can’t believe the long line of others who signed off on it, though -they are also culpable.

I think he also has some very deep-seated issues - see the account by that other pound shop misogynist , Piers Morgan, about Clarkson’s ‘dysfunction’ difficulty in his autobiography , ‘The Insider’. It would certainly explain the level of misogynistic and perverted bile in what he wrote. Well done to his daughter for making her statement - how utterly humiliating to be related to him.

RedRobyn2021 · 19/12/2022 11:22

Knockagain · 19/12/2022 08:28

Absolutely disgusting! I can’t believe that it was even allowed to be published and I feel so sorry for his Daughter.

Me too, she seems to have gone quiet on insta I hope she is ok. It must be hard having a father who is so vocal about things you passionately disagree with.

Octo5 · 19/12/2022 11:22

Clarkson was over the top, M has made herself a hate figure and may of us male and female dislike her.

Wow victim blaming much!

Are women who get raped or abused asking for it too?

What about Rose West’s victims, did they bring it on themselves?

Rose West, Hitler, Osama Bin Laden are hate figures - they’ve physically hurt people.

Megan who has never physically hurt anyone cannot be a hate figure in the same way.

It’s ok not to like someone.
But say you don’t like them for X reasons.
Do not speak of humiliation and violence of someone who’s never caused you any harm.

Roussette · 19/12/2022 11:22

RedRobyn2021 · 19/12/2022 11:21

I thought the same tbh

Does that make it OK thought?

I've never watched Game of Thrones and had no idea what the references to it were about.

Do you think this article, in a prominent newspaper, by a prominent columnist, depicting in detail his views on what he would like to do to her and comparing her as worse than Rose West, a child killer, is more than an insult?

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 11:23

I thought the same tbh

He was. But how does that mitigate the thought?

Octo5 · 19/12/2022 11:24

@Crazykatie

How would you feel about posting your real name and where you live?

Because I personally disagree with your comments and so it’s only right that I go on SM and tell everyone how I’m going to hang you up naked and we can all whip you and throw stones at you.

There are loads of famous people who have condemned it. Sadiq Khan, a couple of footballers, Carole yes, the author Phillip Pullman, John Bishop, Dan Walker ex BBC, Dom Joly and more.

JanetheObscure · 19/12/2022 11:25

Interestingly, Clarkson wrote a completely anodyne column about something else in yesterday's Sunday Times and the comments underneath are fairly universal in their condemnation of his article in The Sun.

For context, Sunday Times readers' comments are not - in the main- favourable towards Harry and Meghan.
