So last year … after Naughty Boy got kicked out there was controversy at the all white camp! Charlene, Scarlett out and Baba in the bottom two too!! Racism!

Sad to see her go. I must admit when it was both her and Baba in the two to go and rgeb I remembered about Charlene, I did think Eh 🤷🏻‍♀️Charlene was annoying, Baba seems lovely and Scarlett was a great camp member, maybe because she’s not as well known or doesn’t stir up trouble 🤷🏻‍♀️

But Strictly is looking like the opposite. I wouldn't read too much into either.

I think it’s because people vote for their favourite. And while she seemed lovely, she’s not been featured much and she hasn’t said or done anything especially noteworthy. So she’s just been overlooked.

I really don’t think it’s a race thing.

I just knew someone would call racism after tonight's vote.

Look at BGT too. Tokyo Myers, Axel Blake, Diversity. X factor had Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Rak su, Dalton Harris etc. Do you think racists only watch a certain type of reality TV?

I was very surprised to see Scarlette go tonight. I was hoping it was Sue. I would also have preferred Sue to go first rather than Charlene.

I liked Charlene, don't know why she's irritating. If I was in the camp I'd be really happy if done one else wanted to cook - I'd have gotten rid of Mike first - indiscreet and gives me the creeps. Can't put my finger on why. I think Scarlett might go because she's nice but not particularly interesting in trials - people want to see MH suffer or watch the ones who are wussy and struggle with getting stars (Chris). BG will stay because he's bitchy and therefore entertaining. I thought Baba was funny. Sean is also amusing to watch.
I don't think you can call racism just because it happens to be the black camp mates at the bottom - this show isn't only about who is personally liked, it's about who is most entertaining to watch.

But they're the most boring. Nothing to do with colour. They're just a bit dull.

The first two to go are black women. Yes I'm shocked. And Babatunde apparently at risk too. It does look like racism to me, yes.

Gutted for both Babatunde and Scarlett because they are both lovely people but I aren’t going to lie I didn’t vote for them.I wanted Sue to go because she is beyond boring. I don’t think it’s racism, I think it’s who bothered to vote. Don’t forget the likes of Boy George will have a massive following.

Disappointed and surprised to see Scarlett gone. I thought she’d be there till the final. I think Owen will win.

Who the f* is voting for Hancock?? I read his love interest Gina is sunning herself by the hotel pool waiting to meet him in a passionate embrace on the bridge. So, more humiliation for his poor kids as if the cctv footage of him snogging her face off while clutching her arse wasn’t enough embarrassment for them and their mother ie his wife.

I reckon you'll find they everyone is all WTF re Baba being in the bottom and will vote for him next time round. Watch this space.

He's got tonnes of support from the right who hate anything to do with labour. Have a look on twitter, look at the people supporting him, then look at their profiles. Wasted an hour of my life doing this yesterday. Eye opening!

I was surprised to see Scarlette leave tonight but don't forget the public are voting for who they want to stay rather who they dislike. I'd never heard of her before seeing her in this show but thought she came across as a lovely person. I'm a BG fan though so he will always get my vote.

Previous posters have said they didn't see much of her on screen so didn't vote for her.

Question is therefore, why did she receive less air time than the others?

Scarlette was definitely more interesting than MT & Sue but there will be oodles or Corrie and Rugby/Royal fans whereas I’m not sure who Scarlette’s following will be

Sports fans will be voting for Mike. Soap fans will be voting for Sue. Nobody seems to know who Scarlette is. It's a fan base thing.

It seems to be the same for all the public vote shows though. You can justify it case by case, but if all the public vote shows end up with white dominated finals, despite starting off with a diverse initial line up, then that tells us something about the people who vote (who are a niche demographic, not a balanced representation of the U.K. population).

Shows that don’t have public votes, for example The Great British Bake Off, are more likely to have winners who aren’t white, than those which do.

Apparently not. Someone on the other thread said Ant and Dec confirmed Sue was in the bottom 2 last time on Instagram live, after the show.

Fair enough... struggling to see rugby lads watching and voting en mass for MT...But I'm sure Annie has all her book club ladies and their DC voting for him too
