Oh my god this is absolutely horrifying stuff what is wrong with people how could you do that to another person never mind your own child. I feel really upset and disturbed by this. I wish he'd not came here and had stayed with his dad. I hope he rests in peace, absolutely tragic.

They should never ever get out of jail or be allowed contact with each other for what they have done.

Whenever I hear of cases like this, I wonder what sort of society do we live in where NO ONE saw how miserable his life must have been. School? FFS.
I hope they rot in hell and live the rest of their miserable lives being tortured by inmates who have nothing to lose. Justice will be met out.

It is absolutely horrible. I saw an itv clip on tiktok then this thread, so I was unaware of this as well.

As for why he didn't say anything; he may well have been terrorised into keeping quiet, told he wouldn't be believed or that no one would care.

I'm from Eastern Europe myself and nothing on the same level as this but I didn't have the best upbringing and my parents told me all sorts of lies, including threatening to send me back to "live on a farm" and take my passport.

I was 11 when I found out that it wasn't legal to beat children in this country when the police or childline or something came into school to do a talk.

How the hell were they allowed to get married. Who thought that was a good idea? They were waiting trial for murder. There should be no privileges! Heads should roll for that.

Oh and my dad would also hit my brother growing up. It was so normalised and my useless mother would never risk sacrificing the sanctity of marriage or public perception of the family by doing something unthinkable like putting her children first and leaving the bastard 🙄

The judge was the same judge who presided over the trial of Star Hobson''s murderer. I wonder how she finds good in the world after having to listen to such despicable cruelty.

These threads only go one of two ways. Either posters compete to see who is the most grief stricken, or they compete to see who can come up with the most vicious punishment they would like to see inflicted as revenge (which is more than a little ironic, given the circumstances).

This case upset me so much to read about today, was in tears watching the awful video of him struggling to sit in pain.
I’ve not been able to stop thinking about that, the poor, poor boy.

My ds is only a bit older and it just sickens me to my stomach. I hope those pieces of shit who did this get everything coming to them.

I spent about an hour this evening weeping about this poor child. It has really tested my resolve against capital punishment. It is obscene. I know it’s not about me but I feel haunted by it. I’m so angry and I don’t know how anyone could do that. Just a boy with a life of suffering and violence. Dear god, it’s an abomination. I actually couldn’t stand to read about it but headlines have been too much to take.

It always seems to involve a new unrelated partner who has recently come into their lives doesn't it. And the bio parent is so caught up in the relationship they go along with it? How does this happen?

I don't think they should be allowed to communicate with each other. It's like they've romanticised them vs Sebastian.

Bit harsh? Not sure I would could come to court to sit through that, especially in a foreign country. I think I read that the lad lived with his dad until his mum brought him took him and brought him over here. Maybe you know some back story that puts a different light on it, other than simply because his dad didn't attend the trial?

While sympathising with Sebastian, I attempted to steer this conversation in a different direction, but it didn't work. My question being: what purpose is served by newspapers publicising stories such as this one?
They are just turning it into some kind of gruesome entertainment, IMO.

Next time a poster on here asks if someone should notify social services, because they’ve seen or heard something. Can everyone agree they should just go ahead?

I still see posts on here ‘heard shouting and what sounded like hitting’ and people say ‘mind your own business’.
Too many people will have ignored warning signs for this poor boy.

@Lockheart I think people are allowed to feel upset. If you have a beating heart in your chest you’ll feel sad about this.

When horrifying things happen, people also want to make sense of it. The collective grief discussions on here are quite normal, I assure you. Very insensitive post.

It's appalling.
Poor children.

We should all report potential abuse when we see/hear it, to potentially prevent suffering from the voiceless child. :(
