Night out with friend last night
Met her in her city which is around 20 min drive but 1 hr 20 mins by bus.
As we were drinking I couldn't take my car.
So I stayed at her house
This morning she says "sorry I can't take you home,I don't want to use petrol unnecessary "
So she drops me off at the bus stop
The Sunday service is 1 a hour and I've just missed it.
Aibu to think it's a bit crappy?
Bare in mind every time she stays over mine I drive her home or if I feel too hungover I'll pay for her Uber

Why didn't you drive to hers and then drive home the next day?

Welshmonster · 25/10/2022 20:24

Maybe your friend is actually struggling financially and going out actually wiped out a chunk of her income until pay day.

make it clear moving forward if you will be dropping her back etc or park at hers and make your own way into town.

No one knows what @BlancmanegeBunny said that you agreed with, when they read your post.

I've just looked back 139 posts trying to see, and still can't find their post. It's not like you were referring to someone who had just posted a couple before you!

It's really irritating to read cryptic posts- just quote the line in bold you agree with or of it isn't too long quote the whole post they made (but. If OPs first post, never quote copy all of that as that's the basics everyone reads!!)

If a local garage did indeed only accept £20 minimum, couldn't she have stopped at a different garage on the way to yours?

No garage only accepts £20 minimum, most are minimum 2 liters of petrol which is under £5. The £20 minimum is a feeble excuse - and in the very unlikely event of being true, as someone else said, 'friend' could have taken the offered £10 and waited til she had the £20.

PeachyPeachTrees · 28/10/2022 20:51

She had enough petrol to give you a lift and could have taken the £10 and put it towards a £20 top up on a later day. It was a made up excuse and we all know it.
She should have just given you a lift considering that's what youv'e done for each other for so many years.

PinkSyCo · 30/10/2022 09:48

You pay £45 for her to get home when you’re too hungover? Bloody hell your friends an inconsiderate piss taker but you’re far too generous! Rather than waste 2 hours and 20 minutes of my day I would probably have given the cheeky fucker £20 for petrol on this occasion, but I would feel really resentful about it and would definitely start treating her in the same way she does me going forward.

@Taillighttoobright that was the original plan but as she was dropping kids off near city centre she told me her dad would drive her into town after she dropped kids off so didn't want to wait for me to drive to hers so she would have to do 2 trips (as she would have to drive to her dads then back to hers than pass her dads to get back to city centre )

If this is true then her car is at her dad's. Something doesn't add up with this story.
At the end of the day if she couldn't afford to drop you home then that's the truth. You never know another person's financial situation and having been broke in the past people with money never understand. She probably over spent on the night out and is in a spot of bother now and the driving eachother home business needs to end in her opinion.

Ginseng1 · 29/11/2022 19:26

Something doesn't add up here! If this was my good friend & I always run her home (or pay 45 for a taxi?!) I'd be like hang on a second what's up here? Are you struggling or what is she normally this inconsiderate/mean?
