Blonde, morning tv presenter. Mean girl

MorningPlatypus · 23/10/2022 21:46

I met Goldie at a meet and greet. He hugged me then pretended to hump my leg. 🙄

NessieMcNessface · 23/10/2022 21:47

Met Rowan Atkinson once (after Oliver at the stage door like another poster said) but he was lovely. He must have been exhausted after performing all night but he spoke to every single person waiting and signed everyone’s programmes. It must have taken him about 45 minutes but he didn’t leave anyone out.

I don’t understand this post - your school forged a letter from David Attenborough to the pupils??

Not that I’m a celebrity but if someone forged a letter from me then tweeted it I’d be fucked off too. What on Earth were the school thinking?!

To the poster saying the PR was vile, trust me when i say that vile celebs hide behind their (usually perfectly nice) PRs and make out they're the cunts, while behaving impeccably in public themselves then berating the poor PR. I worked for a very high profile celeb who had form for this. Still does it now. And for the Mr Tumble haters, do not google mr tumble car exhaust. Definitely do not.

I googled..... my God that's something you can't unsee...

whatdoyousayhey · 23/10/2022 22:08

I heard this about Rowan Atkinson too but he was lovely when I stopped him at Stage Door!

Ducksinthebath · 23/10/2022 22:12

Well it’s the thin end of the wedge, isn’t it? It might encourage others to do similar but in a less innocuous manner.

I can see why he and/or his people would be annoyed and ask for it to be taken down.

Worked with Graham Norton many years ago. He was the the nastiest most vile, self important celebrity I've ever come across and I've worked with many over the years including some huge American stars. Maybe he's mellowed.

I don't know him and have never met him, but je jas always struck me as a self-important little tw*t.

As this is a gut feeling and not personal experience, I may be wrong.

The most lovely person I have ever encountered was Joel Dommet. He was sat near us having a pint on the grass with his friend. He had literally JUST sat down and a couple of teens came up to him to ask for a selfie. He was so friendly and warm with them, taking time to chat and having his picture taken. And he didn’t complain about them after they had gone either! A genuinely lovely person!

I'm so glad cos I always think how lovely he seems x

FlirtyMelons · 23/10/2022 22:47

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/10/2022 14:27

charming when she wanted to be and really unpleasant if something didn’t go her way or she was inconvenienced
The same can be said of Brian May,

@bloodynewusernameagain

Nooooo don't read the previous thread , my flab has been gasted by the news that the lovely Dr Brian May isn't as perfect as I thought he was Haloween Sad

I'm going to attribute his tardy behaviour on his clogs rubbing his toes or one of his rescue hedgehogs being ill
(He has a Rescue set up on his grounds .........did I mention he was perfect ?)

@70isaLimitNotaTarget A friend of mine is a close friend of Brian Mays and says he is one of the nicest people he has ever met. I am choosing to believe that as I would be so upset if he's an arsehole. He has told many stories about him and all so lovely as well as being over and above as a friend/someone he works with.

SparklingLime · 23/10/2022 22:53

Graham Norton: absolutely vile. Very much punching down at crew etc who were not present. And female celebs who also were not there. Surrounded by sycophants so no one to say “hey mate…”. I was waitressing so in no position to object, but I wish I’d just walked out (would have been tricky money wise).

I’ve met her too

she’s only where she is because of her husband
not many people like her
nor her colleague who was shagging an 17/18 year old intern and everyone knew but were too scared to mention
but was SO BRAVE for coming out as gay.
both a very disliked

Tryingtothinkofaname · 23/10/2022 23:01

@Saffers85 How was she to you when you met her? totally different to her tv self?

As previous poster aptly put ,a mean girl.
not very pleasant ,almost robotic and then switches off as the camera is off
not warm and friendly at all.

and it’s exactly the same for a wee Scottish lady too.

however Piers Morgan is lovely 😀

LeMoo · 23/10/2022 23:10

and it’s exactly the same for a wee Scottish lady too

...Nicola Sturgeon?

SequinsandStilettos · 23/10/2022 23:14

In fairness, if the wee Scottish lady is who I think you mean, she very clearly said her TV persona was just that...she was playing the "character" as a theatrical artist! Grin and saving 1.2 million tax, by not being herself

Why don’t you just use names? Most of us are. Do you expect someone to sue for some shite gossip on Mumsnet?

SundownOnTheStair · 23/10/2022 23:32

I see someone has already drawn attention to this but please don't name the Duchess of Sussex on this type of thread because, as most of us realise, negative comments about her are always inspired by a fundamental racism.

YouOKHun · 23/10/2022 23:34

Michaelmonstera · 23/10/2022 20:52

Sounds true. I went out with someone whilst he was at Dartmouth College with PA. Apparently, he introduced himself to his midshipman colleagues on the course by instructing them to address him as “Sir” - they all thought he was very much up his own arse and disliked him intensely.

That reminds me of what I am sure in an urban myth but sounds pretty likely.

Early on in his naval career PA bowls up to a VERY senior naval officer and sticking out his hand says “hi I’m Prince Andrew but you can call me Andrew”. The admiral looked him up and down, straight faced and keeping his hands by his side said firmly, “I’m Admiral [name] but you can call me Sir” and he and his senior entourage turned and walked away leaving him standing there like a lemon holding his hand out while others concealed their amusement. I hope it’s true.

I’ve met Allison Hammond a few times and always found her to be lovely as have others I know who have met her. I’ve never known her not to stop and chat and have photos.
Loveliest celeb I ever met when working in a theatre was John Challis (Boycie). I was so sad to hear he died.
I wasn’t working the day he did a show, but Lenny Henry was apparently vile. I never heard the other staff talk bad about anybody else but they unanimously all couldn’t stand him.

Oh gosh. I met her when I was a 16 year old politics student. She was the most patronising, arrogant and annoying person I'd ever met (though have met a few worse since!) Almost completely put me off politics. I will never forget that day and whenever I see her on TV etc.. now I remember the cringey horrid day she spoke to my friends and I. Maybe she's changed now though. This was 26 or 27 years ago!
