Nicest Celebs I have met, lee evans, Stephen mulhern, diversity.

my sister also tripped at the tv BAFTAs and ant from ant and dec caught her. She said he was so nice as she apologised for almost taking him out. (She was a professional seat filler)

worst was probably when my girls tried to say hello to Justin fletcher after the panto in reading… ignored everyone

Stephen Mulhern is a twat

Oh gosh. I met her when I was a 16 year old politics student. She was the most patronising, arrogant and annoying person I'd ever met (though have met a few worse since!) Almost completely put me off politics. I will never forget that day and whenever I see her on TV etc.. now I remember the cringey horrid day she spoke to my friends and I. Maybe she's changed now though. This was 26 or 27 years ago!

Are you thinking of Alison Hammond from Big Brother/This Morning. I’m intrigued to know what she did to almost put you off politics 27 years ago!

PaisleyP · 23/10/2022 23:47

Martin Clunes is lovely. We used to see him around Richmond park around 20 years ago. Dog walking when we was kids and he would always speak to us and let us stroke his dog. I think he had a blonde lab can't remember now.
Rylan is lovely Too.

Anthony worral Thompson is a bellend though, wasn't keen on him at all. My mum recently met Stormzy randomly in Sainsburys in Wimbledon who was really nice and also put a £50 note in the charity pot outside. And she met Michael Caine who she said looked quite miserable but was ok.

Are you sure you haven't mistaken Damien Hearst for David Attenborough? That would be completely believable.

I thought it was David Hasselhoff.

I see someone has already drawn attention to this but please don't name the Duchess of Sussex on this type of thread because, as most of us realise, negative comments about her are always inspired by a fundamental racism.

Why can't someone say they disliked her when meeting her?
Could it not be that the person who met her and just found unpleasant and rude? Isn't it the point of the thread.

PukDetektiv · 23/10/2022 23:57

Ronnie Wood, adorable!
Charlotte Rampling, a very nice lady.
Keira Knightley, didn't actually meet her, just noticed this amazingly beautiful person, then heard her say a few words and recognised her voice.

I knew someone who worked at the Royal Academy, so not my story...
He told me that David Attenborough was absolutely vile.
( I know I couldn't believe it either)
Apparently the Academy does out of hours openings for their special members. On this occasion J had to open up, was thrilled to do so as he was a huge fan of DH.
Whilst unlocking the areas he turned to David H and mentioned he thought the last episode of xxx was the best TV he had ever seen. DH stood there and stared at him before saying coldly.. " I don't think someone like you should be talking to someone like me"
J was mortified.
On another occasion DH threw his coat at J and told him to take care of it.
He didn't left the coat on the floor and walked away.
Has never watched anything he's made since. Apparently his partner looked embarrassed both times.

Oh no I really hope this isn’t true!

GloriaSicTransitMundi · 23/10/2022 23:59

Im a wildlife volunteer and Ive met Sir David on several occasions - opening wildlife centres, book signings, at a charity launch supporting a new wildlife venture. He was always unfailingly polite and charming despite the crowds clamouring for his attention. In fact at a book signing, he stayed well past the stated time to make sure everyone in the long queue got a turn.

Coat throwing? Telling someone not to talk to him because they were 'not someone like me'?? I cannot believe this post, it is completely opposite my personal experience and that of eveyone who speaks about him.

RookSoup · 24/10/2022 00:02

whatdoyousayhey · 23/10/2022 22:08

I heard this about Rowan Atkinson too but he was lovely when I stopped him at Stage Door!

@whatdoyousayhey I must have caught him on a bed night when I met him at the stage door. However, I do think he's quite arrogant. I know he's been reckless with his driving and speeding.

Secondtimeround29 · 24/10/2022 00:03

Vogue Williams. Sooooooo rude! And was introduced as a friends friend!!!!

RookSoup · 24/10/2022 00:07

As my dad was a big fan of Dad's Army, we went to see a few shows with Ian Lavender (Pike) in and met him afterwards too. A lovely man. A little nervy but very friendly.

RookSoup · 24/10/2022 00:10

GyozaGuiting · 23/10/2022 17:31

Andy Day (from Andy’s dinosaur adventures) is absolutely lovely. I saw him on holiday with his family and loads of people were stopping him, he had a smile for everyone.

Matthew Perry from friends was lovely, bumped into him in London.

Hank Azaria (David the science guy from friends and he did the simpsons voices too) one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, super friendly and time for everyone.

Prince William worked with DH and he was very well thought of, didn’t take himself seriously and joined in with taking the piss out of himself.

Prince Andrew was full of himself in the Navy and generally hated.

@GyozaGuiting agree about Andy Day. He's my friend's cousin and was at her wedding. He was really nice and as you say, very smiley.

Bobbie1976 · 24/10/2022 00:13

I struggle to understand why many of these people are famous lol

In my experience reality stars who think they are somebody are rude. People with actual experience and talent are usually v nice.

I had to run an event with Woody Harrison once. He was a miserable, short man who didn't look me in the eye while he gave me directions. He chugged wine from a bottle at the back of the event until it was time for him to go on stage, where he preached about his vegan, sober life. His assistant kept hitting on me and trying to get me to come out drinking by with them afterwards. I might have considered it but I really didn't want to spend my evening with such a miserable sod.

I also met Woody Harrelson once, he was in London doing a play I think, and a friend of mine was dating his PA (I wonder if the same one).

Anyway, my friend rang me one night to come and meet him when they were having a drink in a bar, and he was such a miserable git, and yes surprisingly short.

So if someone has a bad encounter with Meghan Markle they’re just racist? What about the other POC who’ve been mentioned on this thread?

PaganOfTheGoodTimes · 24/10/2022 00:37

Martin Roberts of Homes under the Hammer fame is a total nob, I live in the next village over from him and he often walks his many doodle type puppies near me. He has no manners and has been downright rude to several on occasion, wont control his dogs, neither he or his wife picks up their poo either 💩 A friend says he always had a face on on the school run too.

To a previous poster - DH used to know Ben Shephard socially as his housemates were doing the same course at uni, and says he's a total twat 🙄

Not to mention their high turnover of staff when they were working royals - their staff dropped like flies! Probably just racism though ey

FlirtyMelons · 24/10/2022 00:40

A relative of mine worked for Keira Knightly, she was with her every day and said she was lovely but her husband was awful.

I have met lots of celebs and most have been lovely. I think I met Will Young on an off day. He was in a work capacity but he was not interested in meeting people. Robbie Williams was extremely arrogant, Mark Owen absolutely adorable. All the strictly lot are lovely, i have met quite a few of them several times, Aljaz and Janette really stand out as being really nice but to be honest they all seem wonderful. Rob Lowe was gorgeous and so sweet to everyone, as was David Ginola and Sean Bean.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 24/10/2022 00:41

A Hairy Biker (can’t remember which one) screamed at me once. I called him about an event he was taking part in and I caught him at a bad time apparently - he was in panto rehearsals IIRC.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 24/10/2022 00:42

I have friends who run a very niche business and have a few celebrity clients. They did work for Brian May and his wife recently. Brian was apparently a miserable twat but his wife was wonderful and friendly. I was gutted - I met him once in London, watching We Will Rock You and he was really pleasant to ne

Gamezup · 24/10/2022 00:42

Met David Attenborough once and he seemed a very polite gentleman. Leslie Phillips was charming (although he did ask for my phone number! This was when he was about 80 !!) Penelope Keith was lovely, a very friendly lady. Jenson Button was absolutely fabulous....very pleasant, unpretentious and a quietly spoken, down to earth type of guy who is much more handsome in real life than on TV.

Rowan Atkinson... I met him at the stage door after seeing him play Fagin in Oliver. He was very unfriendly. I've heard similar stories from other people. There was an arrogance about him.

On the flip side, Graham Norton is one of the nicest I've met. He was very friendly and unassuming.

Noooo not Rowan Atkinson!!! 😩 I love him

TheFormidableMrsC · 24/10/2022 00:51

I once took a phone call at work from Bob Geldof. He's the rudest man I've ever come across.

mumof2many1943 · 23/10/2022 15:04

Lowering the tone a bit, worst person I’ve met is Mr Tumble. Totally ignored my daughter who has Down Syndrome who ran up to him, he was filming in a Special Needs School.

I've unfortunately not heard one nice thing about Justin Fletcher outside of his tv persona.

audeloquipalam · 24/10/2022 00:57

Ricky Tomlinson. Quite the opposite of the image he portrays. Spends his time kissing the arses of the power brokers in the room and blanks anyone else present. A very unpleasant and ignorant man.
