"It’s not him … is someone who looks like him. I think it’s from Eastern Europe - it’s a man, in women’s underwear, with his cock stuck up an exhaust pipe (the man seems very happy with the whole thing)"
That you, Justin?

😂

I’ve met Allison Hammond a few times and always found her to be lovely as have others I know who have met her. I’ve never known her not to stop and chat and have photos.
Loveliest celeb I ever met when working in a theatre was John Challis (Boycie). I was so sad to hear he died.
I wasn’t working the day he did a show, but Lenny Henry was apparently vile. I never heard the other staff talk bad about anybody else but they unanimously all couldn’t stand him.

@Norma27 DP was friends with John. A proper character, very very funny, and he loved it when people just treated him like a normal chap.

Cottagewitch · 23/10/2022 21:13

Paulo Nutini. Had his phone in to be fixed when I was a technician in the stupid Apple store. He was incredibly rude when we called to remind him it was ready to be picked up (policy to call every other week when devices have been left uncollected- his had been sitting gathering dust for quite some time). He told me I shouldn't be bothering him as he doesn't have time to deal with this and actually said 'do you know who I am?'. He was really shouty and unpleasant.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 23/10/2022 21:14

I am convinced that the best reply to "Do you know who I am?" is still "No. Do you?"

Kimya · 23/10/2022 21:15

I used to work on the East Coast mainline trains (in many of its iterations!) usually serving in First so we got loads of well known faces in there.

Gordon Brown stands out as having been quite rude. He didn't even look up when asked if he wanted refreshments and had the person with him had to answer on his behalf. The other politicians I remember, from all different parties, were very polite.

Mingmoo · 23/10/2022 21:18

Thought of a couple of good ones: Tom Cruise was absolutely lovely and tried to make everyone he encountered happy although he was also very much a superstar so a lot was handled by his entourage.

Dara O Briain was very pleasant, extremely clever and friendly.

Gunner1510 · 23/10/2022 21:19

@Dashel thankfully it was public, he seems like an absolute predator. 💐His attitude to women, and particularly black women is abhorrent and disgusting. I really felt for all the women in the documentary, but those who wanted a career in music and felt he held all the keys and were pressured into meeting him or coerced into situations they shouldn’t of been in, it can’t of gone unnoticed surely. It’s just awful, yet another getting away with his behaviour for years.

Cottagewitch · 23/10/2022 21:19

And I once observed Tommy Flanagan having a fit in said Apple store as his phone wasn't working. I loved sons of anarchy at the time and really wanted to talk to him but my manger said, probably best not too, he's absolutely fuming just now. One of the nicer customers we had was Robert Carlisle, and his wife Anastasia was often in with her broken computer and was absolutely lovely and so normal.

Kimya · 23/10/2022 21:20

Some of the lovely people we served were Jane McDonald, Ross Kemp and Ainsley Harriott. The latter had someone approach him asking for his autograph and he was just so happy to have been asked.

I used to work at the BBC in Bristol where the Natural History Unit is based. David Attenborough is not a twat, he is a very polite person and I've never heard a bad word said about him, which is unusual for a TV presenter and even more so for someone who was a senior manager at the BBC.

I choose to believe this, not the other account. 😊
Jealous you got to meet him.

But no-one was as big a star as Alan the lovely crew member who used to be in 1st!

GyozaGuiting · 23/10/2022 21:23

Tim Westwood invited me and my friend back to his hotel, we thought it was a big party. I ended up in a room with his entourage (perfectly nice people), but he tried it on in a separate room with my friend. We were 18, and he would have been late 40s! She turned him down and we got out of there.

He really was such a gentleman and so funny when I met him. Spent ages chatting to fans and staff. He was delighted when I told him my then 6 yr old was a fan of OFAH.

Cottagewitch · 23/10/2022 21:24

And my final one. Bumped into Rob Zombie and his wife Sherry wandering round Glasgow. He was really nice and stopped so I could get a picture. He's drinking an aulds coffee in it which is a really cheap chain of bakers in the area. I found that quite amassing when there's Starbucks and Costa everywhere.

Ross kemp was in the Kings Cross 1st class lounge a few weeks ago. Trying to seal some deal on the phone when trains were very delayed. Engaged with people coming up to him- seemed nice

Jane Macdonald was often in 1st from Leeds during the day. If anyone engaged with her she gave them the full on theatrical performance- which they loved.

I knew someone who worked at the Royal Academy, so not my story...
He told me that David Attenborough was absolutely vile.
( I know I couldn't believe it either)
Apparently the Academy does out of hours openings for their special members. On this occasion J had to open up, was thrilled to do so as he was a huge fan of DH.
Whilst unlocking the areas he turned to David H and mentioned he thought the last episode of xxx was the best TV he had ever seen. DH stood there and stared at him before saying coldly.. " I don't think someone like you should be talking to someone like me"
J was mortified.
On another occasion DH threw his coat at J and told him to take care of it.
He didn't left the coat on the floor and walked away.
Has never watched anything he's made since. Apparently his partner looked embarrassed both times.

I've never been able to see David Attenborough him the same way after seeing this interview and the way he behaved around Jessica Chastain and Cameron Diaz on the Graham Norton show. He had to sexualise both interactions, even though it's obvious the women did not see him in that way. Very awkward to watch. Diaz handled it pretty well (even though you could tell she was embarrassed) but Chastain's discomfort was more obvious. Even Norton turned away from the awkwardness. I think he's very much Old Guard BBC - used to speaking to women and people he thinks are below him in a certain way.

EarthSight · 23/10/2022 21:27

Oh God..... just watched that clip again @SerenaB12

''I could show you later''......

Noooooooooooo😳😖

impressivelycunty · 23/10/2022 19:27

To the poster saying the PR was vile, trust me when i say that vile celebs hide behind their (usually perfectly nice) PRs and make out they're the cunts, while behaving impeccably in public themselves then berating the poor PR. I worked for a very high profile celeb who had form for this. Still does it now. And for the Mr Tumble haters, do not google mr tumble car exhaust. Definitely do not.

Obviously googled it 🤣🤣did he really do that?

@LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet @LaMigraine You should both watch that clip I've just posted of him.

Anneofwindypoplars · 23/10/2022 21:31

@MummyToOrla i have no opinion on DA either way but I can see why he objected to that to be honest. It’s open to much abuse!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 23/10/2022 21:35

@MummyToOrla I can also sympathise with DA on that one. If you wrote a letter in his name and then publicised it, I can see how that might have created problems for him if the views in the letter were assumed to be his. I think that crossed a line.
