Would you vote conservative again?

I wouldn’t vote conservative again after the total shambles that have been the last 12 years. They’re constantly infighting rather than sorting out the economy and have left the NHS in a total mess. No care for people suffering from the cost of living crisis

Well, I wouldn't vote Labour. That much I know.

KangarooKenny · 22/10/2022 09:36

The NHS has been in a mess for a long time, including when they were under Labour and the coalition. Until it’s sorted from management down, nothing will change.
‘And a lot of what people call the NHS is actually private medicine.

AllPlayedOut · 22/10/2022 09:36

I've never voted for them in my life and I doubt I ever will.

Faciadipasta · 22/10/2022 09:37

@Rollingdownland your choice who you vote for obviously, but why wouldn't you vote Labour if you don't mind me asking?

YellowTreeHouse · 22/10/2022 09:37

Of course. Labour is just not even a viable option.

BIWI · 22/10/2022 09:37

I've never really understood why people vote for the Tories - oh, yes I do. It's all about self interest and to hell with those less fortunate.

Teresa May had it right when she talked about them (her own party!) being 'the nasty party'. And all that's happened since she resigned is it's got worse and worse. Now there's not even any attempt to hide their nastiness or how much they despise those who are less well-off or fortunate. It's all in plain sight - and yet people STILL vote for them.

And now we have the prospect of a criminal ex-prime minister seriously considering standing for re-election.

cherrymilkshake · 22/10/2022 09:38

Yes absolutely would vote Blue

NicolaSixSix · 22/10/2022 09:38

@YellowTreeHouse why do you think Labour isn’t a viable option?

Faciadipasta · 22/10/2022 09:38

@YellowTreeHouse why is Labour not viable? I'm genuinely not trying to start a bullfight, I'm just interested in this view.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 22/10/2022 09:38

Hell no!

KangarooKenny · 22/10/2022 09:40

Didn’t Rishi get fined too ? And his wife wasn’t paying tax here ?
Why on earth is he seen as the go to guy ?

vipersputpaidtomylastusername · 22/10/2022 09:41

Would never vote labour so would vote tactically to keep them out. So yes I would - even though the last few months have been woeful.

MeghansBitch · 22/10/2022 09:41

I am stuck with the SNP in Scotland and the Tories overall 😩

Faciadipasta · 22/10/2022 09:42

Honestly i don't understand all the 'would never vote Labour' and nobody wants to explain why. Anyone?
Is it the antisemitism? I do agree that is fucking shit.

Leggingslife · 22/10/2022 09:44

Never have, never would.

CatHatSat · 22/10/2022 09:45

I have voted for them, having seen at first hand the state of the NHS and social support services now, combined with the absolute joke of unchecked corruption and infighting over the last few years, never ever again.

They were the party of sensibility and honourability.

I just feel like they’re a bunch of absurd clowns now.

Clavinova · 22/10/2022 09:48

A fixed penalty notice is not a criminal conviction.

You wouldn't want David Lammy in Starmer's government then?

2016
David Lammy fined £5,000 over 35,000 nuisance calls urging people to vote for him to be London Mayor.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 22/10/2022 09:49

I don’t know how anyone with a social conscious could vote Tory. Either very very rich, very very stupid or just a cunt.

SirCharlesRainier · 22/10/2022 09:49

No, never.
I'm not partisan/ideological, so in theory would vote for anyone if I thought they would govern better than the alternatives. It so happens that that's never been the Tories for me, but in principle there's no reason they couldn't be.

But after the last twelve years, my mind's made up forever. Austerity, Brexit, the handling of COVID, Rwanda, Trussonomics - no way. I will never, never, never, never vote for any of those fucking bastards in any level of election, if I live to be a hundred.

I'm just around the age where you'd normally shift to Tory, too. And I bet there are millions of people like me. They've totally blown it.

The last few months are the culmination of the last twelve years. My seven year old is going on to the fifth prime minister in her lifetime. Do you really think there’s any talent rising to the surface given the way they get through leaders? This is the best they’ve got at the moment.

The question isn’t ‘would you vote labour’ it’s ‘would you vote conservative’. Other parties are available. It’s incredibly politically lazy to pick your ball up and go home because you have some sort of compulsion to only vote for one party.

Nocaloriesinchocolate · 22/10/2022 09:49

Absolutely not. In fact I’ve joined the Labour Party. I had until 2010 always voted Conservative (since the 1970s) but the present [unprintable] lot are not the Conservative party I knew

ShinyMe · 22/10/2022 09:51

I've never voted Tory in my life and I never will.

Well I guess I'm a cunt then. But there are quite a lot of us around, despite you being absolutely certain you're right.

Are you even old enough to vote? 🙄
