make speeches lauding the UK for the opportunities it gave their parents and themselves then try to snatch them away from others after they have benefitted from those opportunities?
Makes no sense to me, at all 🤷‍♀️
Of course, the obvious answer is that their parents arrived into the UK via legal routes.
Many of those legal routes no longer exist (very deliberately) and this Government (if it can be called such) seems to be doing it’s level best to override the asylum system (as Conservative governments have been for some years).
I welcome immigration. Our nation is what it is thanks to it. Has been for millennia.

Keep struggling. You might understand one day. But then of course it will be too late
Too late? What does that even mean?.Why? What is going to happen?

Worst case scenario the country descends into anarchy and chaos. Of course it’s unlikely to happen in my lifetime but it might in yours. Will you remember the warning then I wonder.?

I dunno, for a godawful abomination of a language, quite a lot of amazing literature has been written in it.

SerendipityJane strange isn’t it that you seem to condemn Britons for teaching the world English because it shows our sense of superiority and yet you also condemn SouthAfricans for not teaching English to the blacks under apartheid. Surely teaching English is either a good thing or a bad thing. It can’t be both. Or is a a case of damned if we do and damned if we don’t. English is a beautiful language with a proud literary heritage.

Sorry JuvenileEmu that last post was meant to be in answer to some else. I can’t seem to get the quote facility to work as I want it to.

Even with the hint about irony, you still didn't get it ....

The country is already descending into chaos. Not because of asylum seekers and immigrants, but because of 13 years of incompetent, arrogant, corrupt, lazy, law breaking, chaotic Tory government.

Shit is happening now. In your lifetime @GrannyRose15. And it's happening because of the Tories.

As people post from the comfort of their homes on devices chaos is more akin to Lampedusa

Not many noticing but that is a problem leading to chaos, especially when other EU countries simply say no to taking people.
