And whereabouts do you live because it makes a difference if you're on Shetland compared to central London. My hall is 14.6 and my living room 16.1. Bedroom 15 The heating isn't on. North West England. Thank goodness the sun is out today because yesterday was so cold wet and windy.

SW England 17 degrees outside (highs of 18)
19-19.5 inside

No heating yet

CatsLikeBoxes · 01/10/2022 18:07

I'm envious of all these warm homes despite no heating - it's been 17⁰ in my sitting room today, but 18⁰ outside (London). Last week it was only 14⁰ indoors despite it being a sunny, mild day (room is west facing and does get some afternoon sun). I've not put our heating on yet (no thermostat) but it won't be long before I need to, even just to dry clothes.

Murdoch1949 · 01/10/2022 19:16

No my heating is not on and will not go on until there's snow or ice! I'm retired, can afford heating but have a few more years before I'm in danger of hyperthermia so I'm refusing to line the energy companies pockets. I live in a new 4 bed house, so insulation is vg. Have only had heating on twice in last year, I just wrap up with layers, UGG slippers. I worry for poorer families with young children who have to keep rooms heated. I've just had my energy company reduce my monthly DD for dual energy by half as I've underused, so I'm doing something right, but it is only 1st October!

movingsky · 01/10/2022 19:20

North of England 19.5 in the hallway without heating on at all.

AnyFucker · 01/10/2022 19:21

16.9, Manchester

Heating not on

BobinogBobbleHat · 01/10/2022 19:26

20.5 in the living room (north facing). Heating not on yet; we've had a really lazy day and with four of us in there the living room felt really stuffy. The others are still in there but I'm sitting in the kitchen with the back door open enjoying the breeze.

House is about 20 years old and very well insulated.

West coast of Wales.

XenoBitch · 01/10/2022 19:36

Mid terrace in the SW. House is 19, and I have windows and back door open.

lightand · 01/10/2022 19:38

I will cut out many things before cutting out heating.
I do not want to get lung problems, or other health problems, because of breathing in cold air.

LT2 · 01/10/2022 19:42

No heating on yet - baby's room thermometer is reading 20 degrees in our bedroom at 19:40. We live in a mid-terrace so it's not a 'cold' house.

LT2 · 01/10/2022 19:42

In East of England- forgot to add!

lalaloopyhead · 01/10/2022 19:44

We're set at 18'C (east Mids) heating has come of a few times but it's quite warm here today

hamsterchump · 01/10/2022 19:48

Cornwall, 20°C, no heating on yet, we've still got the summer duvet on and not wearing jumpers or socks yet. I only shut the windows last week and that was cos of spiders not the temperature.

Sundayrain · 01/10/2022 19:50

This has made me realise how warm we keep our house! Currently 21 and we don't have the heating on but when we do it's set to 22 and comes on for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening. 18 would feel quite chilly to me! We're in the South East.

TheFormidableMrsC · 01/10/2022 19:51

I'm not sure of temp but I've not yet had the heating on (well since April at a guess) and I've got a t-shirt on and it feels quite warm. I'm in the SE. It was warm here today, warm enough to dry washing on the line at least.

Greenandcabbagelooking · 01/10/2022 19:52

17.3 in South London. No heating but I am under a blanket with a hot water bottle.

RiftGibbon · 01/10/2022 19:54

Lounge is 19 degrees. Heating isn't on. Bedrooms are likely to be cooler, but I haven't been up to check.
I was baking cake earlier so when I had finished, left the oven door open to let the heat spread through.

Meatshake · 01/10/2022 19:55

16 outside, 20 inside. Have had the patio doors open for much of the day! South East. Heating set to 18, we tried 17 but it feels way too cold in our open plan town house, particularly on the top floor.

JenniferWooley · 01/10/2022 19:58

East central Scotland, temp outside is 10° house is 20° no heating on

SophieJo · 01/10/2022 20:00

North west, set at 15. Came on tonight for a short while.

BiddyPop · 01/10/2022 20:00

Dublin.
Kitchen was 20 with back door open this afternoon, and without oven on or similar.

Bedroom 1st thing in morning had dropped from 22/23 last week down to 18 mid week. So definitely cooler this week.

But we haven't turned on heating yet. It lit the stove.

urbanstroller · 01/10/2022 20:04

22' currently, heating thermostat set for 21.5' anything below that is too cold for us

Horracewimp · 01/10/2022 20:06

21.5 in a 2 year old new build in east of England. No heating.

SpaceyCake · 01/10/2022 20:09

19C or thereabouts inside. No heating on yet. In the South West. The bedrooms were around 17C this morning but felt ok.

DoubleNit · 01/10/2022 20:10

Highlands here, about 16 in the house. No heating tonight because I've got an oodie on and dc is in bed now.

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 01/10/2022 20:12
