And whereabouts do you live because it makes a difference if you're on Shetland compared to central London. My hall is 14.6 and my living room 16.1. Bedroom 15 The heating isn't on. North West England. Thank goodness the sun is out today because yesterday was so cold wet and windy.

NW. Even yesterday the front room was above 20C with no heating. Rest of the house is colder though.

Melodiax · 01/10/2022 12:58

I don't know the temperature of my room, I don't have the thing that tells you. No heating on.

Michiru · 01/10/2022 12:58

Midlands, my house was 15.5 this morning, so I put the heating on for half an hour and it went to 17. Now 17.5 in the colder part (hallway and upstairs bedrooms), probably around 18 in the living room area.

Thermostat is set to 18, but I am not on timers just yet, just topping up when it's needed.

Melodiax · 01/10/2022 12:59

Live in North London, have windows open

Natsku · 01/10/2022 13:01

We don't have a thermostat but the room thermometers show 22 in the kitchen and just over 20 in the lounge. We've had the oil heating (only heats the hallway, kitchen and downstairs bedroom radiators but that's enough to keep the whole of downstairs warm at the moment, and enough heat rises to keep upstairs bearable) on for the last couple of days because its been raining non-stop (and around 8 degrees outside, dropping down to near zero at night - Finland) and we don't want any damp issues but we've turned the boiler temperature down today. I feel anxious about having it on so much already in case we run out of oil during the worst of the winter so turned it down and will light a fire in the boiler later (operates on both oil and wood)

NutellaEllaElla · 01/10/2022 13:02

16 in my bedroom in the West Midlands. No heating on yet, just my Oodie and hot soup for lunch. Don't know when I'm going to crack put the heating on.

Hollyhead · 01/10/2022 13:06

18.8 degrees here, feels ok. It was 17.4 last night and almost caved in but had an ovaltine instead which did the job.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 01/10/2022 13:08

North East Coast (England) 14 degrees outside, 16.5 inside. Starting to feel chilly, and I've got the stove all ready to light tonight.

The pain from my osteoarthritis the past few days has ramped up again as it does every winter.

womaninatightspot · 01/10/2022 13:08

14 outside fells warmer in the sun but a chilly wind. Inside the wood stove is on so one room is toasty with the door open so the warm air filters through and stops that damp feeling.

DoodlePug · 01/10/2022 13:12

17 degrees in the hall, and heating is set to 17 so I suspect it will have come on over night.

Once it's properly cold it's set to 21 during the day and 18 at night.

Darbs76 · 01/10/2022 13:13

19.5 - heating is off (was on this morning)

In the South East - outside temp is 14

Dirtylittleroses · 01/10/2022 13:18

It’s quite warm so I think low twenties. Heating was on for an hour at 6am but the wood burner was on all evening last night and the heat has stayed in the house.

berksandbeyond · 01/10/2022 13:18

SE. Nest says house is 19. 20 year old house. 18 degrees and sunny today. Heating not on, haven't had it on at all yet

Airymanning · 01/10/2022 13:21

East anglia.

No heating or fire on.

Lounge says 24.3

Queenmargery · 01/10/2022 13:23

17.5 degrees in our living room. No heating on and hasn't been for months although we did light the stove last weekend.
One of my DC is in shorts and t-shirt.
Our house has always been cold so 17 degrees is perfectly comfortable for us during the day.

Tootsey11 · 01/10/2022 13:25

Northern Ireland, its about 15 in here, front door wide open, sun shining and the cats are lying halfway in halfway out the door. Heating is never on at all unless we need water.

Cheeselog · 01/10/2022 13:27

Currently 20.5 main house and 19 bathroom (in an uninsulated extension) but I think the bathroom was 17 when I got up. Won’t put the heating on at least until the main house drops below 17 which I don’t expect over the next few weeks, looking at the relatively mild forecast. I’m in Berkshire.

TheChosenTwo · 01/10/2022 13:28

We are in the SE. Rooms are hovering around 19 without heating. Too chilly for me so we’ve put the downstairs heating on for now, bedrooms are fine at 19. Downstairs rooms are now 22 which is perfect.
Have been having fires in the evening as it’s nice and cosy during these dark rainy evenings!

NannyOggsWhiskyStash · 01/10/2022 13:34

17degrees here (Netherlands), am not putting the heating on until I absolutely have to. Bought an electric heater which warms the living room up very quickly, and we splurged on fancy blankets. Currently drinking a cup of Chai and feeling toasty.

Coulddowithanap · 01/10/2022 13:38

Currently 20°c in the house. Not put heating on yet. (in the SE)

OhFrogOff · 01/10/2022 13:40

Windows open, London - it's 19 degrees outside and a nice breeze.

Honestly don't understand why people have thermostats set for 20 odd degrees during a climate and energy price crisis.

AntikytheraMech · 01/10/2022 13:43

Worth knowing that humidity will play a part in in feeling cold. 18 degrees centigrade with 80% humidity will feel a lot colder than 16 centigrade with 50% humidity. A 200 watt dehumidifier will heat the room and dry it out with great thermal efficiency due to evaporation energy release. Also helps dry clothes as a bonus!

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 01/10/2022 13:46

North London, 17 degrees inside - uninstalled victorian house. Think it's warmer outside at the moment, often is. No heating on yet - I HATE the cold but cant afford heating :(

user1471592953 · 01/10/2022 13:48

London, 22 degrees, new build, south facing, double or triple glazed throughout.

user1471592953 · 01/10/2022 13:49

No heating on.
