And whereabouts do you live because it makes a difference if you're on Shetland compared to central London. My hall is 14.6 and my living room 16.1. Bedroom 15 The heating isn't on. North West England. Thank goodness the sun is out today because yesterday was so cold wet and windy.

London. 18 on the cold side (has been 17.5) and 19 on the warm aide. Heating not on, holding out as long as we can.
Cold bedrooms are ok as you are snuggled in a duvet but I would not be happy working or relaxing below 17.5

Raidtheice · 01/10/2022 09:51

Wales.

It was 18c this morning. I did put the heaters downstairs on at 21c for an hour this morning. No idea what temperature it is now but its comfortable. Probably won't put the heaters on again until this evening.

Fairislefandango · 01/10/2022 09:52

It's currently 16 in our house, going by when the heating clicks on if I change the thermostat, which is in the hall. I've put the heating on a couple of times so far. I generally set the thermostat to 18/19 once we start to have the heating on regularly. I'm going to start putting it on a timer though, as I've just gone back to work full time so there is nobody in the house from 8-4 during the week. I'm in Cumbria, but near the Lancs border. It's generally more wet than really cold here!

It was 16° when I got up so put heating on for an hour, it's 19° now and it feels nice. Heating will go off soon until this evening when I'll put it on for an hour if needed.

Sorry, am in West Yorkshire

Heating on last night but turned off this morning

What is the temperature of your house and is your heating on?
PrivateHall · 01/10/2022 09:52

We haven't had the heating on yet - well not since April or whatever. It has bene ok so far - no way of measuring our room temps, but no one has complained of being very cold yet (well when wearing suitable clothing anyway). We always hold off until Oct for the heating but will be holding off even longer this year.

OrangePomander · 01/10/2022 09:52

Read ours from a baby room thermometer on the shaded side of the house. Non-sophisticated heating system here!

PinkHeadphones · 01/10/2022 09:52

South east, 19.5, heating not on

Ineedwinenow · 01/10/2022 09:53

It’s around 9 degrees in our house early in the morning and our heating is set to come on automatically if it drops below 15 so it now comes on at 4:45am and is set to 18 degrees,

It doesn’t come on in the daytime or evening yet and we are wearing jumpers but my husband gets up for work at 5 and for him it’s cold

HashtagShitShop · 01/10/2022 09:53

19.2, Lincolnshire coast. No heating on yet. Have had an electric heating pad a couple of times though.

kitty1993 · 01/10/2022 09:53

22.5 all week in the bedroom (south facing new build) I live in the south of the country. No heating on yet but it was noticeably colder yesterday

ShineOnYouLikeMorningStar · 01/10/2022 09:54

Pennines, 19c, heating still at summer setting - we set it to come on at about 8c so it never actually kicks in. Windows still open a bit actually & DH & I still have the summer duvet on. Have just ordered Oodies for DD & myself though. DH is perpetually boiling so he didn't want one. We usually put the heating on in December but sometimes not until January.

KittyCatsby · 01/10/2022 09:54

North West ( 25 miles from Scottish border ) house currently 15 .

Overthebow · 01/10/2022 09:54

17C in the house this morning (South East), no heating on yet as there’s no need yet it’s not that cold.

RewildingAmbridge · 01/10/2022 09:55

South East, 19, but the portable thermostat is upstairs and usually a degree or two cooler downstairs. It's chilly but we all have jumpers/slippers on other than DS who is wearing a furry cat onesie. No heating on, we're off our in a bit. Had the log burner lit last night, and electric blanket for an hour at bedtime

jiskoot · 01/10/2022 09:56

We're in the South West, we have no central heating and I have no clue what the temp in the house is. Rayburn heats the downstairs all year round and we have yet to light the fire.

NCHammer2022 · 01/10/2022 09:56

North East, 16.5 degrees in the sunny room we’re currently in and that doesn’t feel too bad, probably more like 15 on the other side of the house. Heating hasn’t been on since April. DH and I can layer up, DD never stops moving so doesn’t feel the cold that much.

ShineOnYouLikeMorningStar · 01/10/2022 09:58

I'm envious of the PP who said they have clothes out on the line, it's been raining heavily here since yesterday afternoon. And windy!

Sooverthisnow · 01/10/2022 09:58

Scotland, 10°c outside, so guessing it’s around 14- 15 inside. I’ve set the log burner but I’m going to do some housework to warm up. Heating hasn’t been on yet this year apart from the test run we did a couple of weeks ago to check all the radiator we’re working.
Its sunny today and our windows are the kind that trap the heat and don’t let it out so the house should start to warm up soon.

Swedecabbagelime · 01/10/2022 09:59

North west. Heating went on for an hour yesterday. Smart meter says we used £3.40 of gas yesterday which looking at the graph looks double all the other days with no heating. So at yesterdays prices one hour of heating cost around £1.70. It won’t be going on much more than an hour a day unless it’s seriously cold!

LittlePet · 01/10/2022 09:59

It is at 19 (set at 19) - heating came on this morning but hasn't been on for several hours now. I'm not convinced it actually is 19 though.

pigcon1 · 01/10/2022 10:00

Off, I put it on to 20 when my parents are over.

PaperPalace · 01/10/2022 10:00

18 degrees here, heating not on yet.

Abraxan · 01/10/2022 10:02

Heating is in a thermostat using the best system.

Is set at 20c in the evening and morning, 18 during the day, 16c if we are out.

It is coming on in a morning and evening this week.

It's just gone off a little while ago and the temperature gauge in the room says 20.9c

At the moment that feels plenty warm enough. When the winter arrives we will decide if it stays the same or needs to go up a bit.

Abraxan · 01/10/2022 10:02

I live in Sheffield, forgot to add.
