And whereabouts do you live because it makes a difference if you're on Shetland compared to central London. My hall is 14.6 and my living room 16.1. Bedroom 15 The heating isn't on. North West England. Thank goodness the sun is out today because yesterday was so cold wet and windy.

Yes, been having it on in the morning, but will just put it on whenever it starts to feel chilly indoors now. Although had it on yesterday, and the tumble dryer and oven being on made it too hot in the kitchen, can't win. 🙈
We're in Yorkshire.

Throwawaytoday · 01/10/2022 10:37

It's worth saying I'm aware that we'll need to reduce our energy usage - at the moment we're testing out one month at normal stage to see how the price increase impacts us.

Turtlesone · 01/10/2022 10:38

South coast and no heating here yet. According to the baby monitor our bedroom is 22. Hallway is 19. 17 degrees outside currently and according to my phone it will be 18 and mostly sunny today. We have big south facing windows which really warm the house up when it’s sunny.

Suzi888 · 01/10/2022 10:40

S Wales, heating not on, not had on yet. Sun shining in so we’re lucky in winter (summer is horrid) It’s 21c.

Lieslies · 01/10/2022 10:40

It's 16 in living room (coldest room). I have heating on for an hour in the mornings as otherwise currently its dropping to 10--14 overnight and it won't warm up by itself as drafty, north-facing, open chimney and single glazing. Radiators not on elsewhere.

I've been giving downstairs an hour or two of heating in the evenings too, up to 18 degrees.

I get monthly bills so I'll quickly find out what's affordable or not.

Whipmawhopma · 01/10/2022 10:43

Yorkshire. 13.5 degrees in the house. The heating is not on, and hasn't been on. But it's an old, leaky house so there's not much point! I am wearing a jumper, long socks, leggings, a cardy and Ugg-type slippers.

It is taking my washing about four days to dry ☹️

LoveMyKeeks · 01/10/2022 10:45

Outside temp is 14 here and our inside temp is currently 19. We haven't had the heating on.

HundredYearsOfSolitude · 01/10/2022 10:47

In NW England.
Haven't had heating on yet, atm our sitting room is a very pleasant 19°.

I try not to have the heating on before November, menopausal hot flushes help with this 🥵

zoopigi · 01/10/2022 10:47

30c sitting here in front of a fan :(

89redballoons · 01/10/2022 10:50

I normally try to leave it off until the clocks go back, which is usually OK as we live in a 50s terrace in Bristol (rainy but usually mild).

It's 18° in our bedroom which is fine for us, though we've started wearing jumpers and putting the DC in warmer pyjamas and sleeping bags these last couple of weeks. But no need for heating yet.

Isabelle70 · 01/10/2022 10:53

I am in the Channel Islands and won't have the heating on until 1st December. My dining room where I spend most of my time is 21.6, hall is 21 and lounge is 19.2. The lounge will warm up later when the sun moves around. Not sure about upstairs but most likely about 18.

Bluevelvetsofa · 01/10/2022 10:54

Family room, facing south is 21. Living room, facing north is 19. No heating yet. It feels warmer outside today, but yesterday was chilly and I had four layers and a blanket. South coast.

Mizydoscape · 01/10/2022 10:54

20.6 degrees in open plan living downstairs. Edwardian terrace with loads of insulation in the roof but none on outside walls in the South West. Thermostat set at 18.5 with the boiler timer set for a couple hours morning and evening but it hasn't needed to come on yet. We do have a log burner and have had that on for a couple hours of an evening the last week. It's not really been needed but it's cosy 😀

ThisShitsBananas · 01/10/2022 10:55

I have no idea what the temperature of my house is. No heating on yet it’s still quite warm.

nannybeach · 01/10/2022 11:00

SE UK 10 minutes from the sea. Was 14c overnight closed bedroom window because of wind and rain was too hot. 17c indoors, sun in lounge and our bedroom,no heating on yet this year.Thursday was 5c when I woke up,put trousers on, really hot by 2pm working in the garden 20c.

MakeItRain · 01/10/2022 11:00

South West. 18° this morning. The heating isn't on but I have had it on for an hour or so the last 2 mornings when it was 17°.
I'm hoping only to have it on for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening this winter. Usually I'd put it on for several hours in the evening. We're investing in warm blankets this year!

StillWearingJeans · 01/10/2022 11:06

23.5 in our flat right by the sea, S.E. England. No heating on since March. New build, too warm more of a problem than too cold.

AriettyHomily · 01/10/2022 11:07

Last night the heating was on it was cold wet and windy. Now I'm sitting with the back door open, it's mostly sunny. Don't know the temp in the house but just been out in the car and it was showing 18.

South London

Nadal · 01/10/2022 11:08

Our temperature is 20.5 and heating hasn't been on yet.

FourTeaFallOut · 01/10/2022 11:08

20.2c and apparently it's been on for 30 minutes this morning.

Cheesechops · 01/10/2022 11:12

17.5 in the house but not cold unless I’m sat still. It’s very sunny outside so I’m just about to put the washing out

LuffleGro · 01/10/2022 11:16

18.5C the heating isn't on, it's set to 16C.

Fortunefavoursthebrave · 01/10/2022 11:19

Scotland, 11 degrees here and haven't had heating on yet. It's not too bad, we're all wearing onesie and fluffy socks to keep warm.

Celeryfavour · 01/10/2022 11:22

It's cold but I've turned off the thermostat as I'd rather not know. I used a heated blanket yesterday evening while I was working, it was very effective.

rifling · 01/10/2022 11:23

22 - no! Italy
