Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby

I can't find a thread on this. I don't watch them and I'm not particularly a fan, I find Schofield a bit smarmy. But I'm baffled by the tabloid hate at the moment.

I've obviously clicked on something about them because my timeline has now shown multiple articles from the Mail and Express on the campaign for them to resign because of their Royal Funeral queue jumping.

My understanding - and I didn't follow the funeral obsessively so may be wrong - is that there were two public queues, a queue for those with disabilities, and a VIP queue. David Beckham apparently achieved sainthood by using the public queue. But surely many, many other celebrities and dignitaries used the 4th queue?

So why have Schofield and Willoughby been signalled out? And why is the campaign still going a week after the actual funeral?

It just makes no sense to me. Anyone got any theories?

YANBU They didn't do anything different to many other VIPs.

YABU They behaved disgracefully and should be sacked.

This is about the 50th thread on Mumsnet in the last few weeks about this, but I agree that the hate for them is quite bizarre. I am not a fan, and do find them a bit smug and annoying, but I don't think they did THAT much wrong really.

It all needs to be put to bed now. It turned into a witch hunt. The only thing they did wrong IMO, is not just coming clean to start with (and admitting they pushed in.) They tried to pretend they were doing a 'story' on 'the Queue,' but nothing ever emerged. Not that I know of.

I didn't post on the other 49 so I'm doing all my posting on this one. I have no idea if they pushed in or not, in my opinion none of the press needed to be in that room. It was all televised perfectly adequately. All the press just wanted to look without having to queue. I blame them all, not just the gruesome twosome.

And, Arcane, although I loathe PAH, it is nothing to the destestation I have for Rylan Clark. He is the only person who actually forces me to switch the tv off. I looked up synonyms for hatred and none of them were strong enough to express my feelings about him!

I named what is commonly known as a foof on here after them. It seemed fitting.

A foof?! I never heard of that! 😁 I just looked it up and it has two definitions. One is old codger - I think I'll stick with that one. 😉 I think I've used the word foofy in the past. 😳 I won't do that again! 😆
Don't know why I feel like this about RC. When I see his face I want to smash it in. I wouldn't ever, obviously, and I know he's done nothing to deserve it. But it's visceral! Oo, I'm getting the rage thinking of him! 😡 🤯

And PS, I'd never mistake RC for a singer. 😂😂😂

How depressing. This is the best TV. No wonder the UK is only 18th on the happiest country list.
