Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby

I can't find a thread on this. I don't watch them and I'm not particularly a fan, I find Schofield a bit smarmy. But I'm baffled by the tabloid hate at the moment.

I've obviously clicked on something about them because my timeline has now shown multiple articles from the Mail and Express on the campaign for them to resign because of their Royal Funeral queue jumping.

My understanding - and I didn't follow the funeral obsessively so may be wrong - is that there were two public queues, a queue for those with disabilities, and a VIP queue. David Beckham apparently achieved sainthood by using the public queue. But surely many, many other celebrities and dignitaries used the 4th queue?

So why have Schofield and Willoughby been signalled out? And why is the campaign still going a week after the actual funeral?

It just makes no sense to me. Anyone got any theories?

YANBU They didn't do anything different to many other VIPs.

YABU They behaved disgracefully and should be sacked.

How has Philip Schofield being a self-pitying, smug, queue-jumping, pain in the arse be the fault of the Tories? Next you'll be blaming Brexit.

Surely if everyone on Thus Morning knew about his shady antics, then his bosses should be accountable

How do you 'know' anything about Phillip Schofield? From the press of course. The same press that tell you to vote for Brexit and vote Conservative. And why do they care what you vote? Because the billionaire owners gain from a Tory government.

People in this country really need to wake up to the relationship between the gutter press and gutter politics.

Did anyone catch the article from Mark Thomas-Williams, who used to be on This Morning a lot. It was about another Saville type Celeb who they couldn't prosecute for some reason. The press are able to hide and deflect so much stuff.

I am not a Tory and voted to stay in EU. But that has nothing to do with my objection to zero talented people earning vast amounts of money and having competitions to win fuel money on a big wheel. Patronising The irony is obvious. Not to mention all the adverts they are on to further increase their wealth. It's a sick society when people are worrying about energy and food bills and yet seem to love these two dummies. Baffles me..

@Autumnbutstillhot There have been rumours for years about a certain comedy actor, must be approaching his 80’s now, who when he dies, an lot if awful stuff will come out.

Rumours for years, lots of blind gossip, a few incidents that he's managed to well, 'manage' and make go away. Is he hiding in plain sight? Who knows?

FWIW, I don't get creepy vibes off Phil. I get annoying smug vibes off him but I think the more salacious stuff just isn't true.

How come nothing has come out yet? He's not really on tv anymore, is it just that he has so much clout, or that it's historical and the statute of limitations has passed or something? I don't understand how people know stuff like this and do nothing.

there’s no smoke without fire, and if you do a bit of research into the rumours (there’s I think 2 separate lads where there’s a lot of info been leaked, and I have a feeling that’s probably the tip of the iceberg. It probably won’t all come out till PS is dead. Men with power, celebrity, money etc can do what they like it seems🙄

I can't believe it, I still watch the reruns on tv (not anymore!). I remember it from my childhood - is nothing sacred FFS?!? My mother will be devastated...

True. I suppose it isn't fair to dismiss the show entirely just because of his antics.

I remember quite a few years ago when he married a very much younger wife, I thought it was a bit ick - however sadly that's not unusual for male celebrities.

Yeah me too … I’m amazed at how easy it was for him to brush all those suspicious rumours under the rug, I feel bad for the lads he’s groomed. I bet their families are livid. And it’s disgusting that ITV condone his behaviour.
