Anyone else ? How ridiculous is that ? I just got really cold today at 20-21 degrees. I need 22-23 I think.

The tip of my nose was all cold. I'm ridiculous right ? When I speak to anyone else (normal people) they seem perfectly comfortable at 20 degrees- that's warm for them.

I was wearing a jumper by the way !

Thank goodness for my Oodie!
For anyone interested, the other market leader (the Kuddly) was doing a 4 for £109 offer recently. I believe I saw it on FB the other day.

JaceLancs · 17/09/2022 10:57

I have caved in and swapped summer dresses for ones with sleeves and wore trousers a few days ago for first time for months
rule in our house is no heating till November and then it is set for 1 hour in morning and 4 at night
I couldn’t afford to use more

Herecomestreble1 · 17/09/2022 11:04

I'm in the SE and we still haven't put a duvet back on our bed, just a sheet and both bedroom windows wide open. During the day our back door remains open all day. It's really interesting to read how different people feel the temperature though!

LucilleDarlingtonUnexpectedly · 17/09/2022 11:06

In England. Definitely feels colder waking up today but I’m trying to get through this month without putting it on. I don’t know though, this is reminding me what chilly feels like!

TheTeddyBears · 17/09/2022 11:13

I didn't yesterday but I did today. It was only 18 in the house when we woke up so was feeling a bit chilly. Meant to put it on for half an hour but left it longer and now I'm too hot 🙈

wonkylegs · 17/09/2022 11:18

DH complained he was a bit chilly when he came in last night and I pointed out he was in a cotton shirt with his sleeves rolled up. He sheepishly went to put a jumper on.
I think also his workplace is very hot (hospital) so he gets acclimatised to that and forgets when he comes home that we don't live in a sauna.
As I have Raynaud's I'm used to dressing appropriately as my hands and feet get really cold even in summer, so the transition as the weather gets colder is less of a shock to the system.

mountainsunsets · 17/09/2022 11:26

Our house is 17.5 this morning - 9 degrees outside when I went out earlier.

I have a jumper on and am sat under a blanket but no need for thick socks/slippers/heating yet.

blockpavingismynightmare · 17/09/2022 11:28

Nope. Sat watching TV with a blanket on kidding myself it was comfortable when it was not, so I watched TV in bed instead.

Iguanainanigloo · 17/09/2022 11:35

Where is everyone? It still feels pretty warm here in S.W England... Chilly in the a.m, but warm by the afternoon. Definitely haven't considered the heating yet, and won't until November at the earliest. We do have a fairly new build eco house though, which seems to retain heat well (too much in summer, can't cool it down!)

OhFFS! · 17/09/2022 11:37

@coldfeetmama . We have a 1200 tank so it's priced differently. We are now paying just over 50p litre. Calor upped the price again just after they announced the potential cap for those off grid. Not a con at all, oh no. Gits. It used to be 31p a year ago.

Cleopatra67 · 17/09/2022 11:49

Still in t shirt , leggings and no socks here. It’s warm!

Iliveonahill · 17/09/2022 11:55

I’m in the SE and the temp has suddenly dropped in the evening. My house is cold now. I’m wfh and not sure if I will be able to keep the heating off until end of October. I’ve just bought an electric throw

Skethylita · 17/09/2022 12:02

My house is terraced and South-facing, so I can still make do with just throwing the curtains wide open and letting the greenhouse effect do its thing. It's a sunny day today, so the washing has just gone outside, too.

But the nights and early mornings are definitely chilly now. Sleeping with the window open and cold showers every morning do their bit to help me get used to cold weather again, though.

It's strange, because I'm from a country with really cold winters. -5 to -10 degrees C were normal, but I guess the relatively dry air helped. I feel the cold more when it rains outside, so here's to hoping for little rain, but lots of snow in winter instead.

NCHammer2022 · 17/09/2022 12:04

Do you have poor circulation or other health issues? Unless you’re very elderly it seems unusual to feel so cold at 21 degrees. I find 21+ in the house unpleasantly warm.

Same in the NE. It was about 4 degrees first thing, obviously that felt a bit chilly. But now it’s 15 and sunny and I didn’t need a jacket. Forecast to be warmer next week anyway I believe so it’s a bit premature to be assuming it’s cold from now on.

PeloFondo · 17/09/2022 12:07

NW, mine hasn't clicked on yet. It's set to if it drops below 15c inside

mommybear1 · 17/09/2022 12:35

Midlands here we put the log burner on last night it was a chilly 14.

GreySeat · 17/09/2022 12:38

FantasylandEnthusiast · 17/09/2022 00:20

Where on earth is everyone that you're actually cold?! I've been in a dress all day!

Sat outside in the sun in shorts and T-shirts and today but 3´ overnight and cold if you’re lucky enough not to live in a super modern house that will lose the heat quickly overnight. I’ll be putting the heating on tonight just to warm up the upstairs, as despite pyjamas and blankets needed hot water bottle last night!

queenofthewild · 17/09/2022 12:56

I ran up and down the stairs last night to close my fitness rings on my Apple Watch. I got too hot and had to strip off the layers. I'm going to be using stairs more this winter.

I do the same regarding Raynauds.

Got a chill blain though.😡

MooseBreath · 17/09/2022 13:14

Our house is set to 15⁰C at the moment and it clicked on this morning, so obviously the temperature dropped enough that it was quite chilly in the house. I've brought out the blankets for the living room and we've lit a scented candle. Massively pregnant me is loving the cool weather!

Proteinpudding · 17/09/2022 13:17

Middle of the day and it's a balmy 17 degrees in our living room (old draughty house in northern England) Definitely starting to feel the chill but managing with warmer clothes for now. I can't stand wearing chunky clothes but we both have baselayers for cold weather hiking which are helping so far

Don't think we'll get to November as we originally had ideas for!

coldfeetmama · 17/09/2022 13:22

Thanks @OhFFS! I'm another glad to be of a certain age and not feeling the need yet 🤣

DailyCake · 17/09/2022 13:25

I'm in N Scotland and no heating goes on till the clocks go back. My bedroom has the window open with the heating off, all year round and even friends have admitted that my house is colder that normal. Yesterday, I changed to my winter duvet ... 2.5 tog. I grew up in a warm country and have always hated the heat. I've been known to freeze bottles of water to take to bed when it's hot in summer. 😁

Cheeselog · 17/09/2022 13:35

I’ve only just started wearing socks again! It’s not even jumper temperature here yet. We aren’t expecting to turn the heating on for another 1-2 months.
