To think it's acceptable for my DN to wear a body suit with no Bra?

Sunshineandrainbow · 19/08/2022 11:09

I would like some perspective on this please. Niece is 17 wearing an all in one body suit with no Bra on holiday, bra size is 30 a/b. Occasionlly you could see nipple through top.
Is it acceptable for family member to tell her to put a top on over bodysuit to cover up?

Hi all we've had a lot of reports about this thread. Just to set everyone's mind at rest: the OP has been here some time and never been any trouble before so we're as sure as we can ever be that they are genuine, but we'll keep an eye out for anything inappropriate.

I hate it when people are smuggling peanuts

Why?

TortugaRumCakeQueen · 19/08/2022 12:51

MsSquiz · 19/08/2022 12:45

@TortugaRumCakeQueen but that's the point! We've been conditioned to think it's acceptable for men to walk around topless, but not women!
So when her nipple is slightly visible it is being compared to a penis!! Even you must realise that is ridiculous?

And, for clarity, she's not even bloody topless! She is wearing a top! And her relative has decided that is too much on show?!

On a hot summer's day men are allowed to walk around topless, in a pair of shorts, while women are expected to wear 2 tops (underwear and clothing) and we all just accept this bullshit!

So you WOULD be okay with your Mum/daughter doing what I described?? Yes??

StarlightLady · 19/08/2022 12:53

To add, I regularly go braless in the warm weather. But not at work. And sometimes knickerless with a summer dress. This young woman is on holiday, what is the big deal?

Snog · 19/08/2022 12:56

Being able to se an outline of a woman's nipple through her clothing is absolutely fine in my opinion. I find it weird that some people have an issue with it.

Rosehugger · 19/08/2022 12:56

FWIW I hate mini Speedo swimming pants on men (they are pants, not big enough to be called trunks) and massive sweaty pink hairy bellies on show on holiday but manage (somehow) not to sexually harass or behave inappropriately around these individuals.

All the repulsive looking men about and people are bothered about a 17 year old girl wearing a body suit.

If my mum wanted to go braless in a catsuit id be a bit surprised, but its up to her.
Same with my daughter

MrsMitford3 · 19/08/2022 12:57

Clutches pearls and succumbs to the vapours at the mere mention of an erect nipple...

*she can wear what she likes

Agree, free the nipple!

Rahrahrahrahannoyed · 19/08/2022 12:58

You're spending alot of time analysing her nipple. Leave her alone, it is acceptable attire. If she was stark naked it might be different, but even then I probably wouldn't interfere.

ItIsMyName · 19/08/2022 13:02

Not sure that wearing a bra would make any difference anyway, nipples can still be seen through some!

misspositivepants · 19/08/2022 13:02

Was it a man with his nipples out?

nipples are not offensive

CloudCatz · 19/08/2022 13:03

I don't think there's anything wrong with nipple showing through tops.

I'm still an A cup after having a kid and being late 20s. I rarely wear a bra.

Some of my the tops I wear, you couldn't wear a bra with anyway.

Cleothecat75 · 19/08/2022 13:06

I know of a lady who is far bigger than an A cup, wears non padded bras and you can always see the outline of her nipples. So your niece Wearing a bra might not solve your issue.

PinkyFlamingo · 19/08/2022 13:09

I think it might have been helpful OP if you had given more context I.e. who the relative is.

IncompleteSenten · 19/08/2022 13:11

It's the outline of a nipple under clothing. 🙄

Family member should stop paying so much attention to your niece's breasts.

There's a bunch of them today. I think it must be Bullshit Pervert Post Day and they've all come here to celebrate it in style.

Unclear why so many real posters are falling over themselves to encourage it, though.

I agree. People always give them what they want.

mam0918 · 19/08/2022 13:13

I never wore bras until I had too (or else my boobs give me a round of applause if I move too fast) except for at school because our stupid white school shirts where see through.

5YearsLeft · 19/08/2022 13:13

This is the strangest thing I’ve read this morning. Is the OP actually a woman who has ever seen bras? You do know that if the bra has no padding then you’ll still see the outline of the erect nipple through both the bra and the bodysuit? Because any woman should have been able to point out that OP’s niece putting on anything except a heavily padded bra will not hide an erect nipple. And if you’re so Amish that you’re having a massive coronary over the outline of an erect nipple, how would you feel about your niece wearing a bra so padded that her breasts look three sizes larger to cover it? I mean, I wouldn’t care as niece can do as she likes, but if you’re like this about nipple outlines already…

LondonQueen · 19/08/2022 13:13

It's her choice, who cares if you can see her nipples? It's under clothing.

Fenella123 · 19/08/2022 13:13

I wish my dear late mum (very much of the "burn the bra" generation) was still around and available to defend your DN...you might have to ask for a dustpan and brush to scrape up the ashen remains of your other relative afterwards, though!

Discovereads · 19/08/2022 13:16

It’s acceptable to wear anything with no bra.
The outline of a nipple is nothing, do you know back in the 1950s women would actually sew buttons to tops to mimic a nipple outline if they had inverted nipples?

To think it's acceptable for my DN to wear a body suit with no Bra?
