To think it's acceptable for my DN to wear a body suit with no Bra?

I would like some perspective on this please. Niece is 17 wearing an all in one body suit with no Bra on holiday, bra size is 30 a/b. Occasionlly you could see nipple through top.
Is it acceptable for family member to tell her to put a top on over bodysuit to cover up?

How is this any different to wearing a swimsuit or bikini? No one would jump and down about a swimming costume and shorts on holiday! No one should be obliged to wear a bra (if they are comfortable), A cup or K cup.

excellentday · 19/08/2022 11:44

I think its fine. Shes 17, A cup boobs and her bodysuit isn't see through. And shes on holiday.
Absolutely no reason for her to wear a bra in my opinion. I can't imagine they are bouncing about all over the place, especially as a bodysuit is tight fitting, they'd pretty much be held in place. Makes no matter if you can occasionaly see her nipples. Everyone has nipples.

Had you said she was an F cup and the bodysuit was some loose satin lacy number, then it might be slightly different, just from a support point of view.

Incidently, my ds 16 is taking a white shirt on holiday, its a thin linen and lovely shirt but as its white you can very slightly see through it in certain light. So people may get a glimpse of his nipples. Wondering now if this might cause offense.

And actually, whilst many will say she can wear whatever the hell she wants, how would you feel, if a 50 year old man wore tight mesh shorts, which clearly showed the outline of his penis? I doubt that would be very well received.

@TortugaRumCakeQueen
She's not wearing mesh anything!
And stop comparing a nipple to a penis! Compare nipple to nipple - men are forever just in shorts on holiday, no one is going round telling them to cover up!

And, for the record, you quite often can make out the outline of a penis in some men's chosen swimwear, especially when getting out of the pool, do you tell them to cover up?

I really hate how teenager dress this day. If i’m in your position i just tell her nicely to put the bra on. But not pushy or anything. Just mention it nicely. Dont expect her to listen to you though.

Please don't do this!

Allmarbleslost · 19/08/2022 11:45

If I was a 30 A/B I'd never wear a bra again!

InPraiseOfBacchus · 19/08/2022 11:45

Oh, and if I changed my behaviour every time there was a risk of dirty old men leering at me, I would do precisely NOTHING and never leave my home. Why do their opinions control what women wear or do?

LadyDanburysCane · 19/08/2022 11:46

Sunshineandrainbow · 19/08/2022 11:17

Errect nipple, body suit was dark colour and not see through.

In that case family member was being unreasonable and should stop the body shaming.

I am cursed with large breasts, going braless is impossible for me but the shape of my nipples is still sometimes visible through clothing - especially if there is a cool breeze.

BaronessBomburst · 19/08/2022 11:24

You can see most men's nipples through their t-shirts. Maybe they should all put a bra on too?

I have seen this too on men. Wonder do their relatives tell them to cover up

Rosehugger · 19/08/2022 11:50

Breasts are not a penis. Everything I wear, bra or no bra, shows the "shape and movement of my breasts", as I'm a DD cup. Shock horror.

SirenSays · 19/08/2022 11:51

Hahah swap my Js for As and I'll never ever wear a bra again

That is perfectly fine. Whomever is passing comment needs to be told to wind their neck in.

Literally none of your business. She can dress how she likes and if anyone tried to tell my teen daughter what to wear they would get it in the neck.

EL8888 · 19/08/2022 11:53

What has it got to do with you?

Rosehugger · 19/08/2022 11:53

i Is it acceptable for family member to tell her to put a top on over bodysuit to cover up?

NO. And it would make the body suit look shit.

TheUndoing · 19/08/2022 11:54

You niece can dress how she chooses. Her clothing is far less inappropriate than you posting about a child’s nipples on the internet.

ReeseWitherfork · 19/08/2022 11:35

I’ve been breastfeeding babies for the last three years, my nipples are always out. Nipples don’t suddenly become more socially acceptable because they’re being used versus ones that aren’t. IMO anyway.

Free the nip.

I wish everyone would wear a bra tbh but I know it won't happen so I avert my eyes.

Would you perhaps be more comfortable living among the Amish?

Me too, some men's breasts really do swing about a lot.

RagingWoke · 19/08/2022 11:57

I'm sure there are plenty of men with more than an A cup and wandering around topless with no one telling them to wear a bra 🙄

Is the family member outraged by the nipple outline male? And either way, why are they paying so much attention to her breasts?

Littleduck80 · 19/08/2022 11:57

YABU. Maybe try not to trash the girls confidence while it's peaking because you can see something totally normal that all men and women have.

Ponoka7 · 19/08/2022 11:57

I've always wore different clothing around in-laws/children than I would on a friend's holiday. A lot of places ban string bikinis and the same places dictate what men wear. So it depends on what it looks like face-to-face.

Almondsandraisins · 19/08/2022 11:57

TortugaRumCakeQueen · 19/08/2022 11:19

That's in no way the same though

The reality is that men and women both have nipples that can be erect and seen through clothing, but its apparently only an issue when its seen on a woman not a man.

This!
Some of the comments on this thread are actually really sad. Why should my daughter change what she wears just in case someone looks at her. As for the poster who says the niece was wearing 'provocative' clothing. Wtf. She had a top on not nipple tassels.

overitall1 · 19/08/2022 11:58

The youngsters of today give not a shiny shit. I was on the underground the other day sat opposite a girl in 'gym wear' - it was so tight I could see her nipple ring and belly button ring. And no, I wasn't staring, it was impossible not to see.

I wouldn't have done it, but if they are happy to be leered at that's up to them! Because it will happen, regardless.

iklboo · 19/08/2022 11:59

Why are you staring at their breasts in the first place?

girlmom21 · 19/08/2022 11:59

Who told her to cover up? Nan or pervy uncle?
