To think Tattle is disgusting?

I was just searching for a lady I have followed on Instagram for some time (The Nurse Mum) who's little boy Jaxon sadly died. She's doing a ball event and I wanted to find out more info......anyway, after putting her name into Google I came across a website called Tattle with her name there. I've never seen this website before but having gone onto it my god it's awful! Such evil spouting from women about other people....I couldn't read on it was just so horrible and contrived.

How is something like that allowed to operate? Makes some of the 'harsh' comments on here look lovely 😕

The posters are nicer to each other on tattle than on Mumsnet

People within a clique are always nice to each other, aka the in-group. That’s the whole point. Lack of conflict between posters isn’t a good thing.

I much prefer MumsNet which is less chummy and army-like.

There is conflict of opinion sometimes but I think people like the community feel of some threads and that’s why they go there

I don’t like the insane crazy threads that inspect everyone’s movements but I do like some of the funny threads and genuine discussion about wider issues. Not everyone is a POS and there are different vibes depending on the type of following it is. There was a really interesting one where a load of women found they had been ripped off by a fake coach and they all worked to get their money back. That kind of thing

I've found a tattle thread about an influential feminist psychologist, and the examination of her behaviour has opened my eyes a fair bit; she's very concerning and not many places allow such an open discussion about her actions.

If it's who I think it is, these are serious matters rather than simply excoriating a woman with strong opinions, and given she has an influential platform the questions are legitimate. But there are discussions elsewhere online, including on this very site.

Is...that not what you've just done? Or does it it only count if it's on Tattle?

Not even close. Tattle users target specific individuals and rip them to shreds, nothing is off limits, their looks, their kids, anything goes. I only know about this site because a mum at school told me it's her guilty pleasure and I checked it out.

If you think that's bad look up kiwi Farm 😧

Never seen Tattle, but I came across Kiwi Farm in relation to a much-debated news story recently. Some of its content was awful and I was ashamed for reading it. Spiteful, vicious mud raking of the worst, most damaging variety and a propensity to target the vulnerable. There's a nasty underbelly to the internet, and this demonstrates, if not its worst, a really unpleasant side.

tum te tum...

Not sure what you meam by tum te tum. Are you implying that my comment is in any way the same as a bunch of sad, vicious cows making personal attacks on a specific individual?

ermagerdabear · 12/08/2022 20:28

@hangrylady you really don't have the moral high ground you think you do here.

Calling people 'sad, vicious cows' sounds rather like "personal attacks on a specific individual" to me.

Or is it only 'celebrities' who cannot be criticised?

It's not personal is it though? It's my opinion on a group of people who target a specific individual and basically act like a group of school bullies. Not remotely the same.

I don't need to have a moral highground. I'm far from perfect but I try to be a decent person and that's good enough for me.

You are calling actual people 'sad, vicious cows' so yes, of course it's personal.

But calling random people you haven’t met losers on this site isn’t that nice really

Someone who goes out of their way to log onto a site and make nasty comments about every aspect of somebody's personality, is sad and vicious IMO. Do you not think so?

Like I said I'm not perfect! I wouldn't however, seek out a website to go out of my way to insult people. Surely the tattle fans out there won't be offended though, everyone is fair game surely?

MyLifeIsFictional · 12/08/2022 23:12

I post on tattle. The pages I'm on are balanced and mostly with concern as to the welfare of the children this person has. A lot of the time she's left a young child in danger or neglected the safety of a toddler so deserves everything she gets. She reads tattle too as she often retracts Insta posts she's made. If it wasn't a Z-list celebrity, those kids would be under social services care.

Discrimination1234 · 13/08/2022 07:16

It’s classic DARVO-deny, attack reverse victim and offender.

Relentlessly stalk influencers/whoever, criticise everything about them, even attack their children and then claim that they themselves are the victims of scammers so they “have” to be creepy stalkers in order to “protect” themselves.

Is relentlessly stalking social media in order to criticise, laugh at and gang up on people in the scope of normal behaviour? Clearly not. But if you have a few thousand like minded people to reassure you that you aren’t a creepy stalker and your behaviour is bordering on trolling/prosecuteable, then you can
pretend it isn’t.

Northernshepherd · 13/08/2022 07:35

Honestly if children are being attacked on there (and I'm sceptical about that) I blame the parents who have violated their privacy by putting them on show on the internet.

So like a public service? How do threads on Tattle help these children's welfare? Other than whatever is alleged to be happening to them the target sees and doesn't post that on their social media any more.

ChagSameachDoreen · 13/08/2022 07:47

I reported the Saccone-Jolys to their local council for neglect and mistreatment. Their public "transing" of their 8-year-old son is nothing short of abuse.

What was the outcome?

RattleHog · 13/08/2022 08:03

I post on there occasionally and I do like to read peoples opinions, that’s not to say I agree with everything that everyone says on there, I disagree with comments regarding someone’s looks/size because that’s personal.
I don’t like the lies and fakery from ‘influencers’, so I go to Tattle with intrigue to see if others agree with my opinion (that’s not to say it’s right/wrong) but good to know I have company in my thoughts.

The other stance I take is that social media personalities and z list celebs are essentially a business, they make money from sharing every aspect of their life on the internet, therefore they are subject to criticism, in the way any other business would receive reviews and feedback, both good and bad.

Some of the criticism on Tattle could be taken on board by some of the personalities and it would perhaps even help them to gain more followers/make more money.

GoodTennis · 13/08/2022 08:12

I go on to read the goss but the threads often stray from calling people out on their BS to arguing over posters opinions.
For instance there's a thread about one insta moron who has an awful history of lying, bullying, racism, and conning people. Discussing any of those topics in my mind is fair game as there's proof she's done it. But it will descend into how much sauce she's put on her chips or her pronunciation of a word which is her accent.

ermagerdabear · 13/08/2022 08:12

Nobody is offended. It's just funny that you're doing the same thing that you accuse the 'losers' and 'sad, vicious cows' of Tattle doing.

For those talking about 'children being attacked', can you give some examples? Most people on Tattle realise that slagging a kid off is off limits. They're sometimes discussed, but that's mostly in the context of the parents slathering them all over their social media.
