I read the entire latest Lauren Goodger thread on there earlier after seeing this thread. On that thread people were:
Comparing her to various unattractive/overweight comedy characters
Criticising her looks including her weight, eyebrows, her face in general
Speculating that her daughter isn’t developing normally and may have autism - in fairness, some posters argued against attempting to diagnose her
Implying that she must be a nightmare to live with therefore who knows what drove her boyfriend to beat her up
Suggesting that maybe it was in self defence and she was probably drunk/on drugs
Accusing her of exaggerating her injuries and picking holes in her account of her injuries or hospital details
Accusing her of faked paparazzi photos of her injuries and saying she wanted attention so paraded herself around for sympathy
Accusing her of applying makeup and eyeliner on her black eye to exaggerate it
Saying that because she’d logged into her Only Fans account recently, she can’t be that upset (some posters pay to be members so can see her last seen status)
Berating her for posting a story of her new hairstyle saying she’s so selfish and only cares about “self love” and that she’s not acting the way a bereaved mother should
There’s also a Wiki at the top of the thread detailed the various nicknames they use for her, photos mocking her appearance, examples of her bad spelling and grammar and making fun of this, and on balance they’ve included examples of problematic things she’s done, for example during lockdown.
So this isn’t just criticising someone’s political or otherwise harmful beliefs and practices. I’m all for that, if they want to draw attention to the terrible behaviours and predatory natures of certain Celebs regarding exploiting fans for money etc then all power to them.
But they go way further than that by attacking the person’s looks and other things they can’t control. And I have to say that at that point, it’s not just healthy criticism but downright obsessive fan behaviour then.
