To think Tattle is disgusting?

I was just searching for a lady I have followed on Instagram for some time (The Nurse Mum) who's little boy Jaxon sadly died. She's doing a ball event and I wanted to find out more info......anyway, after putting her name into Google I came across a website called Tattle with her name there. I've never seen this website before but having gone onto it my god it's awful! Such evil spouting from women about other people....I couldn't read on it was just so horrible and contrived.

How is something like that allowed to operate? Makes some of the 'harsh' comments on here look lovely 😕

You're clearly a fan of tattle and maybe not one of those who posts nasty comments but those who do are sad and vicious bullies I won't change my mind about that.

Not to mention time consuming.

There’s plenty of people, myself included, who waste a lot of time on MN. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Like I say, I don't look at Tattle any more because of the ad blocker thing but ages ago I had a look at the Hinch threads and that was certainly not just MN levels of time wasting, that was another level-like a full time job and one in forensics at that.

Tattle is “honesty” is it? Am I am being illogical 😂. Even Tattle users themselves admit that it’s really bitchy. Have you read this thread at all?

It’s my opinion of Tattle. I don’t need to read this thread to form an independent opinion.

Badgirlriri · 13/08/2022 15:00

So many Tattle members on here fiercely defending their nasty selves 😂

Justdontgetit000 · 13/08/2022 15:02

I read the entire latest Lauren Goodger thread on there earlier after seeing this thread. On that thread people were:

Comparing her to various unattractive/overweight comedy characters

Criticising her looks including her weight, eyebrows, her face in general

Speculating that her daughter isn’t developing normally and may have autism - in fairness, some posters argued against attempting to diagnose her

Implying that she must be a nightmare to live with therefore who knows what drove her boyfriend to beat her up

Suggesting that maybe it was in self defence and she was probably drunk/on drugs

Accusing her of exaggerating her injuries and picking holes in her account of her injuries or hospital details

Accusing her of faked paparazzi photos of her injuries and saying she wanted attention so paraded herself around for sympathy

Accusing her of applying makeup and eyeliner on her black eye to exaggerate it

Saying that because she’d logged into her Only Fans account recently, she can’t be that upset (some posters pay to be members so can see her last seen status)

Berating her for posting a story of her new hairstyle saying she’s so selfish and only cares about “self love” and that she’s not acting the way a bereaved mother should

There’s also a Wiki at the top of the thread detailed the various nicknames they use for her, photos mocking her appearance, examples of her bad spelling and grammar and making fun of this, and on balance they’ve included examples of problematic things she’s done, for example during lockdown.

So this isn’t just criticising someone’s political or otherwise harmful beliefs and practices. I’m all for that, if they want to draw attention to the terrible behaviours and predatory natures of certain Celebs regarding exploiting fans for money etc then all power to them.

But they go way further than that by attacking the person’s looks and other things they can’t control. And I have to say that at that point, it’s not just healthy criticism but downright obsessive fan behaviour then.

Oh yes, I once peeked at the Mrs Hinch thread and the level of vitriol is quite something. The amount of time dissecting her every word and movement is unhealthy. I mean, is she that controversial?! I’m happy enough to have a general conversation on forums etc. Some parts of Tattle are gross and inexcusable.

I find it quite remarkable that some MN members can’t see this place can be equally as nasty. I’m not defending Tattle but I think MN is just the other side of the (toxic) coin.

I can’t see it. Because the stuff that a PP posted about LG just wouldn’t stand on here. So it’s not ‘toxic’ in that way.
Personal attacks and OTT threads slagging off slebs get deleted over here.

Nekomata · 14/08/2022 09:01

I suppose it depends on your definition of OTT slagging off celebs.

From the little I’ve seen, Tattle actually has a rule of no thread policing. So, if someone does take things too far, you’re specifically not allowed to call them on it.

Nekomata · 14/08/2022 09:03

Sorry, I misunderstood. I looked at the LG thread and it would absolutely get deleted on MN. I agree with you entirely!

Sparklingbrook · 14/08/2022 09:05

Sounds like the LG thread on Tattle is the definition.

Nekomata · 14/08/2022 09:05

I thought you wrote OTT threads slagging off celebs would get you deleted over there and I thought you were mad because literally every thread there is OTT slagging people off.

Oh right, no, I am not 'mad' about any of this. Grin. I have been told there are perfectly normal threads over there so I may not be getting a balanced view TBF. But from what I saw of the awful Mrs Hinch thread when they were working out where she lived and zooming in on her nail polish to try and prove something, plus scrutinising her DC's development and now the LG one I just felt that you wouldn't get away with that on here.

You’re absolutely right, after I read that entire LG thread I can say with certainty that there would be about 10 posts left if it was posted on here due to the deletions 🤣 In fact the thread wouldn’t stand.

I think a poster up thread said the difference is that on here people can be quite nasty to other posters, and on tattle they are nasty to the subjects of their threads, and that’s true to an extent, however the level of nastiness on there is far beyond the equivalent nastiness on here.

So I’m not sure how anyone could think it’s worse on here!
However, even though Tattle seems to be a free for all, it’s still not as bad (imo) as kiwi farms where literally anything goes. Full on racism, doxxing, blatant misogyny. All upvoted and welcomed.

Justdontgetit000 · 14/08/2022 09:42

And I guess the step below this one in terms of moderation would be netmums? Where you’re not even allowed to say mild swear words! 😁

Spiteful celeb threads do get deleted on here, as they should. However, people nitpick and are passive aggressive towards other posters on here. There are pile ons that don’t get deleted, there are some clearly very vulnerable people. I’m not defending either site. There are shitty humans on both!

Urunbelievable · 14/08/2022 16:23

I went there- instagrammer posts a picture. Cue Tattlers reeling off 10,000 words discussing hair, clothes, make up, furnishings, rumours, advertising, family, instagrammers reaction to comments, who they think instagrammer is trying to copy etc etc.

Nothing has actually happened! I just couldn’t summon a fuck to give really. Instagrammer wearing clothes? In a house? With furnishings? And family? Who would have thought????

I clearly don’t have the necessary level of interest in strangers lives. As others have said MN censors threads insulting people by name. I choose to be mostly positive not negative on here. It’s only AIBU that really gets that way.

Butteryflakycrust83 · 15/08/2022 10:06

After reading a thread this weekend of a woman whose UC had been sanctioned because of a missed appointment and had two tins of beans in her cupboard and no hope of any loans until Tuesday, to read such vicious comments to dig the knife in at her - is LAUGHABLE that people can criticise tattle for gossiping about celebrities and instagrammers when normal people are absolutely thrown to the wolves here.

UniversalAunt · 15/08/2022 10:32

Who is JT?

darisdet · 15/08/2022 12:09

I didn't see that thread @Butteryflakycrust83 Was it in Chat? Sounds awful to sanction someone financially (and I didn't know UC still did that sort of thing) for a missed appointment.

KaySam · 15/08/2022 13:34

I’ve been on and while some things are awful others are quite eye openers. People who say they are body positive yet photoshop all their pictures, others getting money for their dying child but are now wearing £800 trainers and designer clothes.
posting pictures of their half naked children, some give so much information away people could find them and their children.

Absolute spite towards someone on their arse

Thatoneoverthere · 23/08/2022 15:22

I think it depends on the thread/ person. I kinda work for someone who has their own tattle thread, was in the back ground of one of their vlogs and the people on the thread were trying to work out who I was. Now she and her mother (who some thought I might be) are both very slim and I’m very fat but man did the people on that thread go out of their way to try not to say it, they were very diplomatic, kept me amused for days it was so nice.

Notlosinganyweight · 23/08/2022 16:06

I had a look after it being spoken about on here. Really weird place where people obsessively hate celebrities and make themselves look like nut jobs in the process.

But here is as bad sometimes. Lots of snobbery, fantasists, antagonistic journos, incel type blokes posing as women. The difference is I recognise a lot of the names on here, so I know most of the genuine posts, although I nc a lot myself. The less frothy a post, the more inclined I am to think the person is genuine and worth listening to. I block out the rest.
