I wonder if, like me, you have thought about putting a nice thin frying pan outside first thing to get REALLY HOT and then adding the egg at about 4pm?

For those whose eggs dried out on the hot surface, you had too great a surface area. If we use foil or biscuit cutters, we could keep the surface area to a minimum so we can better see the results?

I’ve got a thin Tefal pan and some crumpet rings. If I were to hear them up for hours before the egg went in?

I think a little pan made out of foil folded up at the edges would work.

Our eggs is out, hoping the squirrels/birds don’t spot it.

Circa 1990 I put a sheet of foil on the patio and fried an egg …. Also did a jacket potato in the conservatory whilst we were out all day - took about 7 hours, but it cooked. …… had a science book called the magic fountain (I think) that told me how to do it! …. It was as simple as foil on patio, brush on oil, add egg.

@JudgeJ - ah, did you see the other social media posts where a bloke was ripped into for 'wasting an egg that could be someone's medal' and 'rubbing the fact he can afford to waste an egg in the faces of poor people who can't afford one'
