I'd have to scrub clean the car first before frying an egg on the bonnet.

We tried on a car bonnet when in death valley America. What we didn't think through was that the bonnet wasn't flat so it slid off. and the egg trail left a mark we couldn't clean off (when we finally tried 2 days later :-s). Thankfully they didn't notice when we handed the hire car back! Had it been flat I am sure it would have cooked. But wouldn't recommend!

Ok, we have slight progression.

The egg has started to dimple and the edge is crisping up.

My dear fellow patio scientists... I think it has begun.
The heat has increased since the start.

Don't do your car though as it will damage your paintwork.

This made me laugh as one of our family’s abiding memories of the long hot summer of 1976 is of DH, egged (😉) on by our DSs, trying to do this on a paving slab in the garden.

it did not work.

I microwave poached an egg very recently and stuck a fork in it. I kid you not, it exploded and made the loudest noise and the amount of clean up from one single egg.
I think I may not be the best Egg-spurt to help you today.
