Did it though??

If I recall correctly there was success with one fried in Glasgows Sauchiehall Street.

Folklore9074 · 18/07/2022 16:26

More pictures of this strokeable egg please!

closingloop · 18/07/2022 16:26

I think it might be a long wait for results from a paving slab - a chicken's body temperature is between 40.5 and 40.5°C, and eggs incubate at about 37.5, so adding a foil/mirror/metal/gas hob will be needed I would think.

HelloSpringIveMissedYou · 18/07/2022 16:27

Fabulous thread OP

Once I am released from the office I will make this my first job when I get home. Hopefully the teenagers won't have eaten all the eggs!

PattyMelt · 18/07/2022 16:27

Every year our local radio station and sometimes the TV station in California used to bake a tray of cookies on the dashboard of a car parked in full sun. All cooked every year and they ate them.
Then would talk about not leaving babies/children/dogs inside the car even for 5 minutes.
seemed like a baby or toddler died every year once it got hot.

theshadeofgreen · 18/07/2022 16:27

Oh OP you're my favourite Grin

frazzledmess · 18/07/2022 16:27

i've been wanting to do this!

Thelikelylass · 18/07/2022 16:29

My eggs-pedition to the car yielded very little to show here, egg is still very runny.
Eggs-ceptionally hot in the car though. In fact eggs-crucifying.
(Ed: ok, you can stop with the hammy jokes now.)

Extratoebeans · 18/07/2022 16:29

This is why I use mumsnet, every so often a little gem like this appears and I am here for it Grin

sairbair · 18/07/2022 16:30

It is now 37 degrees here but I have had a disaster. In my eggs-citement I poked the yolk too hard and it burst. It may cook quicker though!!

Thelikelylass · 18/07/2022 16:30

Eggs-cruciating. Fixed it.

Rainingagaininseattle · 18/07/2022 16:30

I remember my dad doing on our bonnet and it worked. I'm currently trying in a frying pan but slight cheat is that the egg is broken so may give false results.

JaninaDuszejko · 18/07/2022 16:31

Completely following. I'm in an air conditioned office so cold I've got a jumper on. Not looking forward to the drive home.

Rainingagaininseattle · 18/07/2022 16:32

Also experimenting with butter

Rainingagaininseattle · 18/07/2022 16:33

We ate the eggs my dad cooked I think

Enigma2000 · 18/07/2022 16:33

I am going to place an oiled egg on foil tomorrow out front.

I hope to get further than strokable.

I'm not ready to quit yet today though. Marvin the marvellous egg is still making progress.
