And do you think he can survive in the long term ..

OP posts:
AnneLovesGilbert · 07/06/2022 14:17

Keir Starmer is pleased.

Alexandra2001 · 07/06/2022 14:18

Yes, longer he stays, the more damage he does to his party.

But i think the Tories will realise this and make the changes required to get rid before the Autumn.

Heynowheynows · 07/06/2022 14:19

I mean from a pro boris perspective.

OP posts:
KirstenBlest · 07/06/2022 14:21

Yes, if he's there at the general election we might get Keir Starmer as PM

if Johnson goes, who'd replace him?

I mean from a pro boris perspective.

Why? There are only a very few unhinged Boris fans that post on here and they are just weird Tory automata who would glorify any Tory.

Giggorata · 07/06/2022 14:23

I think he's awful - but I worry about his eventual replacement, who would be likely to be equally but differently awful.

gamerchick · 07/06/2022 14:23

I want the conservative party irreparably damaged or at least unelectable for a very long time. So yes, I'm pleased.

Blurp · 07/06/2022 14:24

I mean, it saves us from weeks and weeks of the Tories stabbing each other in the back and fighting over who gets to replace him, before eventually opting for someone even more monumentally incompetent and self-serving, so there's that, I guess.

user1471504747 · 07/06/2022 14:24

In the short term it’s bad, I can’t stand him and he’s an absolutely shit leader.

In the long term, it’s great. He’s making the tories as unelectable as possible. Just wish the next GE was sooner.

Ihatethenewlook · 07/06/2022 14:27

I don’t think you’ll get anyone on here they’re pro boris op. That would be like asking people to admit they’re pro brexit 😬

TulipsGarden · 07/06/2022 14:27

Long term delighted, the worse the Tories look the better.

I hope people remember the majority of them voted to keep him f therefore condone his bullshit, when they're voting in the next General Election with some unknown, terribly sincere and contrite Tory leader who's been dragged from the rural wilds to do the donors' bidding.

Ihatethenewlook · 07/06/2022 14:28

*admitting. All these shite changes and there’s still not an edit

AliceAbsolum · 07/06/2022 14:28

Yes I'm pleased. I like him. Too much going on in the world to be upset about some after work drinks years ago.

So from what i gather so far, there is nobody who actually is an active boris supporter.? The reason I ask is that mn seems left lead and want boris to do a bad job ,thus paving the way for a new way/ party.. however , there must be some boris supporters out there..? For eg Our village for one , is v much mostly pro boris( not me ) and its seen as suspect to be a left wing supporter. I am seeking opinions from other pro boris point of view as where i live its " the thing" but am unsure why and ir does not seem to be up for discussion .

Same. Tellingly even the most ardent Boris fan girls have been conspicuously absent for the last 36 hours.

What do you like about him? I'm intrigued.

Oscarthedog · 07/06/2022 14:31

I get he's not popular amongst the remainer mumsnetters but outside of the Mumsnet bubble more people do support him. Personally I am grateful after the great deceit that followed the referendum where largely pro remain MPs tried to hold up enacting the democratic referendum result he got that ball over the line. I accept the parties were bad but personally I wouldn't have enacted restrictions at all no and I really don't think he wanted to but was pushed there by scientists and people who wanted a 3 month government paid holiday. Put it this way starmer was part of the great deceit so don't want anything that gives him any advantage.

Crikeyalmighty · 07/06/2022 14:34

Yep I'm pleased- he's an absolute liability and his bullshitting ways will become very obvious - even to some of the gullible ones who seem quite happy to overlook the lying and bullshitting because they like the fact he's a bit of a bumbling posh idiot, likes a drink etc

Heynowheynows · 07/06/2022 14:34

Ihatethene whereni live ( farming n fish8ng community) the majority are pro brexit !

A friend said she liked him a while back (might be less enamoured now). I asked why. She thought for a while and then said it was his hair.

Anothernamechangeplease · 07/06/2022 14:40

It's bad news for the country but great news for anyone who hates the Tories.

User487216 · 07/06/2022 14:41

Pleased that it might keep Hunt at bay for a while longer, I don't fancy a resurgence of covid if he was in charge, we would all be welded in our homes, though the lockdown lovers on here would like it.
