"Remember narcisists very rarely have a sense of humour, their humour tend to be laughing at someone elses pain"

Yup. I was very aware at what testimony she was sniggering at compared to his

I do think if slamming the kitchen cupboards is the requirement for the domestic abuse case to be won then sexual violence should have been outside the perimeter of the case. Taking someone to court with them able to accuse you of sicker heinous crimes which require no element of proof is in the realms of being able to blackmail.

You've managed to articulate what I think. Surely there's something wrong with a system that would allow you to allege severe sexual assaults and win a case based on the notion that verbal abuse equals DV. Because the implication would then be that all the claims were true, even if the case was won on a legal technicality of what DV actually entails.

On the basis of Heard having said that she starts fights, and that she threw heavy objects at someone and hit him repeatedly ("I didn't punch you, I hit you" doesn't sound to me like a denial of having hit him), while Depp mostly stands accused of having trashed inanimate objects, I think I would probably be more afraid she might do me physical harm if we were in a room together.

I came across these civil cases utterly ignorant about both of them; I'd heard of Johnny Depp because of a story about his having spent some months hanging out with Keith Richards in order to get into a part (don't know what, presumably some sort of reprobate?), never heard of her.

While each sucks swamp through a straw in their different ways, I think on the whole my belief is that she has told a large number of obvious lies. Whatever the verdicts may be in either case, I wouldn't take her word for it if she told me it was raining: I'd look through the window to check.

Sozzler · 27/05/2022 22:38

The Jury has gone home for the weekend and will return to deliberate on Tuesday, so defo no verdict tonight.

How is he reacting here any different to his demeanour in court for the last 6 weeks?

Shehasntagedatall · 27/05/2022 22:44

Jd’s smirking/sniggering looks in response to the bullshit things being said…AH’s face is scary, it’s pure arrogance and nastiness

Shehasntagedatall · 27/05/2022 22:44

unctuousunicorns1 · 27/05/2022 22:50

I feel so pathetic and shallow saying this, but right now I just want to watch ES and escape to a happier time, which probably never really existed. I really hope that JD wins this case, if not, I feel like a part of my past will be tarnished, again, shallow I know, so feel free to flame me. I've listened to the recordings and have come to the conclusion that while JD may be an emotionally regarded, damaged individual, AH strikes me as far more cold and manipulative.

Onthedunes · 27/05/2022 22:51

Johnny is lucky he was the male in this relationship.

If Amber were the man, I fear her temper could have resulted in far worse consequenses that have been seen.

She would have hurt him whilst in the eye of the storm without mercy.

Any vagina owners relate to this man's thoughts on this?

Yes but we've all got to understand this is 'AMBER'S WORLD'

We are all fools.

Only just got to AHs lawyers closing statement. I thought Camille was excellent. She was very succinct and put all the evidence together very well in summary. I thought she could have talked more about the photos and about individual events more. But then I know your can't talk about it all. The list of the witnesses AH says are mistaken or lying was very thought provoking.

He is not helping himself smiling and laughing though. He should be poker face. It doesn't look good to the jury.

Despite this I think he will loose the claim about the article. Nothing that was said proved she did it with intent or that it was undeniably about him.

Not heard Elaine yet but so far AHs lawyer is not as convincing as JDs lawyers. Showing texts and a video of him smashing cabinets does not equal domestic abuse imo, even though he says it does.

But the statement about not being a perfect victim and having photos isn't good enough, not getting medical evidence and not telling friends and family isn't good enough. Not having enough of the right photographs means it didn't happen. That is powerful.

I get what he's saying about the 1st amendment on free speech. However, you are entitled to sue if it's false. I don't think freedom of speech means you get to accuse someone of something if it's false. What about JDs freedom of speech.

However, JDs team can not disprove no incidents of abuse to Amber. There is the kick, bruises and a headbutt. I do think he should loose. He should have talked more about this. The rest is hearsay from her. Howling audiotapes, smashing cabinets and verbal abuse does not equal physical abuse like he is saying. They don't seem to have any indisputable physical evidence for any of this.

I think AH will loose her case against him too.

unctuousunicorns1 · 27/05/2022 23:30

I'm coming to the conclusion that many people who create the most magic are irl the most damaged. Perhaps that's because of a need to form a fantasy world to escape their effed up reality. I dunno.

TiddyTidTwo · 27/05/2022 23:39

On this lovely lady's note I'll bid you goodnight. Look forward to catching up tomorrow Smile

mummyrocks1 · 27/05/2022 23:46

Elaine's closing statement isn't bringing anything useful or concrete to the case. She is just saying what AH or someone else said and saying that equals x and y. Does it? In your opinion but is there actually any real evidence to show that. She hasn't actually put any actual evidence to back it up. It's all just she/he said. It's too random. She shouldn't have spoken. She's deleted all the actual evidence the previous lawyer talked about. He's just muddled it and given aload of heresay.

mummyrocks1 · 27/05/2022 23:49

How is she allowed to just go over AHs statement like this without any actual proof to back it up? How the hell is she a lawyer? She's just saying a load of stuff with no evidence. It doesn't make it true.

Elaine's CV is actually really impressive and she is highly regarded in legal circles but when you have an unreliable client it makes you look like a novice. It seems to be a theme that any experts involvement on the side of AH is pretty much the the kiss of death to your professional career much in the same way she has mullered Depp's career. If you want to keep your hard earned reputation she needs to be given a wide berth.

mummyrocks1 · 28/05/2022 00:17

God knows how. She's rubbish. Well the other lawyer- Tom is if? Perhaps I have made that up. He has managed. His closing statement was good and backed up by evidence. Although imo not true. They should have just left it there. She's just waffled on about she said, he said, she's this, he's that like the jury should just go oh yes Elaine says it so it must be true after 7 weeks of listening to actual evidence. It was ridiculous. Claiming A was entitled to 31.5 million! It was laughable. What a disappointing way to end the trial.

minou123 · 28/05/2022 00:51

@mummyrocks1

You know, I read your comment at 23.05 about Camille and Rotterborn 1st part of closing and thought I would comment.
But then I realised you hadn't seen Elaine yet.

I thought the same as you initially, that Rotterborn was good and brought some valid arguments in AH closing. But Elaine just ruined it all.

RosieRooster83 · 28/05/2022 01:08

Does anyone know why Elaine kept getting objections during her closing argument? I was busy at the time and didn't catch it fully.

ProclivityForPyrotechnics · 28/05/2022 05:37

@RosieRooster83 both sides accused the other side of lying

Boulshired · 28/05/2022 06:52

I feel like a broken record about the kitchen cabinets but it just doesn’t sit right. For me the video shows frustration and not a lead up to a threat of physical violence. Amber stayed watched and recorded. She at no time was afraid that any violence would be directed at her even though he was drunk and angry. Even when he found the camera his anger didn’t lead to physical violence. She was supposedly frightened for her life that the monster would kill her,. She wanted a TRO to protect her and yet in that video she could have left him to it, instead she decided to take a front row seat watch and record.

BornBlonde · 28/05/2022 06:54

Watching on delay - Camille is excellent. The second JD lawyer is good but less engaging.

Agree @Boulshired.

Supposedly he checked her phone yet she took pictures and videos of him, not only saving them but sending to her friends. That doesn't make any sense for a woman who is scared.
