That beauty ‘trends’ are trying to make us all look like sex dolls?

As the subject line says - beauty standards / trends are just so… Unprogressive? Is that a word?

Huge exaggerated eyes with flicked eye-liner, contoured to death cheeks and tiny noses and overdrawn lips that look ready for a porn-shoot BJ (or lip-filler if you can afford it). Almost all young women have long hair as well, no interesting hairstyles.

Obviously I’m generalising, but it’s just so fucking boring. The Kardashians have a lot to answer for.

Seems like there's no winning.

Plastic surgery you're a sex doll

No makeup at all you rough looking.

We could stop judging people for how they choose to look and just ensure mental health programmes are better because the cosmetic industry is funded by insecure people.

Found this photo in my FB feed, from a Polish skin care clinic. Apparently the result of injecting 1ml hyaluronic acid. If this isn’t grotesque I don’t know what is.

That looks like more than 1ml (though you shouldn't be having more than one ml in one sitting, risk of migration). Unless it's immediately post injection and over-swollen for some reason. Though it looks like they'd had some filler in the before photo.

It's unnecessary as her lips were fine, and it's not a good job either, in my opinion. I understand people my age who have minimal filler to counteract the signs of ageing, but this trend amongst the young people is just for fashion and it rarely looks good.

There's nothing natural about Beyonce's blondness. Um..some white people can also have naturally big lips. I'm not sure why this thread became politicised. As I said, some ppl thrive on division.

And many women dye their hair different colours that aren’t their natural hair colour, hat is your point?

You chose to use Beyoncé as an example and are doing the same behaviour that you are accusing others of by using a typical remark often used against black women when they dye their hair a colour that is supposedly not natural yet you wouldn’t use that same reference against white women who dye their hair different from their natural hair colour.

My daughter has naturally big lips, but I think the point is that that's not typical.

In a pub recently (quite a young crowd) and at least 4 of the girls had lip fillers, I personally think it looks bloody ridiculous but each to their own.

Another agtempt to post the photo

They’re extremely swollen as this photo has been taken immediately post-treatment. They’ll settle around 50% smaller than this and the margin won’t appear so severe.

The Cupid’s bow has been sharpened and they appear to have been injected using the ‘Russian’ technique, which means they’ll settle flat and won’t protrude from her face when looking at her side profile.

What is the point of posting a photo at this stage though, as opposed to one showing the final result, if this is not how they are supposed to look?

Why does it end up with that shadowy line over the top lip

That little ledge won't disappear, it's filler outside of the lip line (simply put). It does look like Russian technique, but quite badly done, and they're overfilled, even taking into account immediate post injection swelling . Not a good advertisement for their 'clinic' though some people apparently do want the 'I've obviously had lip filler' look.

Not a natural look for sure.
