Supposed to be having lunch with a few friends from work. One has just messaged me and said she has lost her bank card so if she transfers money can I withdraw it as cash.
I'm really not happy she's put me on this situation.

Of course, this isn't a problem at all for a friend or colleague

Whetheryouthinkyoucan · 11/04/2022 16:50

Fucking nuts that you think this is “a situation”. I honestly don’t even remotely get why this has even raised an eyebrow for you.

NewYearCalavicci · 12/04/2022 00:02

I wonder if @Changename111 friend had any lunch or just sat there with a glass of water nibbling on bread sticks 🤔

mrshoho · 12/04/2022 00:08

who needs fucking enemies with friends like you??

SaggyBlinders · 12/04/2022 00:14

I asked one of my colleagues to do this last week. I'm now paranoid that either you are her, or she is secretly fuming 🤣

Chloemol · 12/04/2022 00:46

@Changename111

I just think you'd sort this out yourself and not bother work colleagues
Well in your first post she was a friend, now she is a colleague.

She’s stuck, she is going to transfer the money to you, check she dies and withdraw the cash I don’t see the issue

She hasn’t got her card so how do you expect her to ‘sort this out’ herself?

HappyDays40 · 12/04/2022 03:41

One minute she is a friend then next a work colleague. You feel she should "sort herself out " but how do you propose she do that ? Is that not what she is trying to do? You are being mean.

worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 08:24

So your judging her really instead because heaven forbid she had a drink
Say no i you really don't want to do it but I think you will look the worst one

WelshyMaud · 12/04/2022 08:31

It's strange the total non-issues that people tie themselves up in knots over.

I wouldn't even think twice about it...unless maybe I was literally nowhere near an ATM in which case they could just bank transfer me and I'd pay instead.

worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 08:33

I get what people say about scams etc but they would be very lucky to have all the details of lunch etc as well and a quick call to them clarified its from them and yes of course you only withdraw when the money lands in the account , which is easy to check with a banking app.

Mummadeze · 12/04/2022 08:34

Such a weird problem to complain about!

worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 08:35

@Dancer47 she is asking for a bank transfer she is asking the OP if she can transfer money to her and OP takes out the money from the cash machine , as they are meeting for lunch today. So they are seeing each other anyway

worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 08:37

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus how if they check its from friend? A scammer would be very lucky to know all the lunch details as well, they are normally a little more generic but if by luck was same
One quick phone call to the friend sorts it, easily done
