For me, it’s going into my bed with freshly washed bedsheets after I have a shower. Bliss.

pawpaws2022 · 02/03/2022 00:49

@Ticksallboxes yep - finish work, exercise, shower and pjs on. It marks the end of work for me with WFH and they're comfy
Nobody sees me so it doesn't matter what I wear!

pawpaws2022 · 02/03/2022 00:50

This is a specific one but finishing a night shift, going home via McDonald's to get breakfast and getting into bed. When you can hear everyone else getting up and you're about to drift off to sleep. BLISS Grin
Even better if it's winter or it's raining

RedCarHonkHonk · 02/03/2022 01:17

I’ve hit the jackpot tonight. Cold glass bottle of coke, fresh bed sheets, fancy pjs and the cat choose me for a cuddle.

Becca8675309 · 02/03/2022 01:24

Killing it at ballet class - I'm 50, and getting back into it after 38 years feels so good I don't know why I waited so long

Daenerys77 · 02/03/2022 01:47

Reading in bed, reading on a park bench, reading in a cafe, reading in the garden............nothing comes between me and my kindle.

SpicyChickenCurry · 02/03/2022 01:57

A long soak in a hot bath while listening to an audio book.

Fresh clean sheets, going to bed early enough to read a book until I feel sleepy.

Snuggled up on the sofa with my DH listening to the rain/thunder outside. We have had such a hot summer here in Perth, hottest on record and certainly the most uncomfortable for me so listening to the rain is absolute heaven.

Having a day off during the week when it's raining, watching a movie on Netflix while eating Pringles, chocolate and having a glass of wine goes down a treat.

A new hair cut - I love that feeling of freshly washed and cut hair.

Knowing that I don't have to set the alarm in the morning for work.

The way my dog and cat greet me when I get home from work melts my heart - they seriously make my house a home.

When I can afford to buy something new - just a top or something, I always feel a bit brighter for it.

Riding my bike around our local lake - I am not fit at all and have joint issues but cycling these 7kms makes me feel so much better, especially when you see all the wildlife - even the snakes. I always sleep well after that.

Turkish Delight (the chocolate ones) - that first bite! I just wish they made them bigger.

eachtigertires · 02/03/2022 01:58

Uninterrupted sleep. Doesn’t happen often due to toddler and insomnia.

Arealnumber · 02/03/2022 04:19

Being anywhere where there's no dogs barking!

LunaTheCat · 02/03/2022 04:32

@Hedgesfullofbirds

A gorgeous sunrise, like this morning, a golden orb rising from over the hills. Or, conversely, lying in bed, watching a full moon, through my bedroom window as it travels across the sky, especially if the owls are hooting too. Or, midweek bellringing practice, down in the village, with the sound of the bells drifting across the fields, in the evening
Oh that all sounds so lovely .. so English and so lovely!
LunaTheCat · 02/03/2022 04:39

Fresh bed sheets
A walk in the countryside where I live
The first few sips of a cold NZ Sauvignon Blanc
The first cup of tea in the morning
Going to bed knowing you don’t have to be at work the next morning
A lovely body lotion after a bath with matching perfume
The feeling of a new bra and knickers
A yoga class
Playing flute duets with my teacher.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 02/03/2022 05:01

Walking my dog
Fresh clean sheets, especially if line-dried and ironed
Bubble baths
Pottering in the garden on an early summer morning
Seeing shoots growing in spring (I hate dull, cold, grey months)
Watching my DGCs

Lizzy1980 · 02/03/2022 05:10

Waking up on a Saturday morning at the same time I usually get up for work, getting up to make myself a cup of tea and taking it back to bed with me. Such a simple thing but I love that feeling. Especially when I think it’s a work day then realise it’s Saturday

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 02/03/2022 05:26

A nice hot bath or shower, freshly washed and dried hair, clean pjs whilst watching tv before climbing into bed with clean bedding. Can't wear pjs in bed though I like to be able to feel the softness of the sheets against my skin

Binkybix · 02/03/2022 05:33

Agree with many already listed. What a lovely thread Lots of mine seem smell related:

  • smell of tomato plants (reminds me of my grandad’s greenhouse)
  • smell of freshly cut grass
  • smell after rain (it has a name - petrichor - and using this word is also a small pleasure)
  • sound of a horse’s jaws chewing
UsernameInTheTown · 02/03/2022 06:01

Dogs. My own Ddog (yes she is very much dear/darling), family's dogs, random dogs. Stroking, cuddling and chatting to the little angels Smile. Dogs make everything better.

MinnieMountain · 02/03/2022 06:08

Reading in our conservatory.

The early morning swim at our local lido (not yet- it opens in May).

linelgreen · 02/03/2022 06:39

Having an afternoon off work but not telling rest of family so I can come home and lounge in hot tub drinking fizz all on my own.

actiongirl1978 · 02/03/2022 06:45

@Ticksallboxes when my DC were both at primary school I put my pj bottoms and a hoodie on at 5pm when we got home. Now they are at secondary so it needs to wait until 7.30 after I collect them from the bus and give them tea.

Putting on pj's early evening is a very simple pleasure!

PopsicleHustler · 02/03/2022 07:13

I love doing the full house cleaning, tidying, polishing and hoovering before school run, so when I come back it's all lovely and spotless.

A cold can of diet coke or coca cola zero

Cadburys chocolate

Any kind of scented candle.

And most special of all, completing my 5 daily prayers.(FWIW I am Muslim) and they are compulsory. And whe I have completed all of them, sunrise prayer, midday prayer, mid afternoon prayer and sunset and evening prayers, I feel like a million dollars.

Ticksallboxes · 02/03/2022 07:37

I don't even own a pair of PJs let alone put them on at 6pm...but I'm now getting a little inspired.

KitBumbleB · 02/03/2022 10:27

Dd is generally too cool to hang out with me now but recently she snuggled up next to me to watch Encanto and she laughed the whole time.

Absolute bliss.

jamandmarmaladeoncrumpets · 02/03/2022 12:12

Hot water bottle on lower back in flannelette sheets

or

Hot water bottle strapped to my lower back on sofa under a throw

either is bliss....Bear Grin

jamandmarmaladeoncrumpets · 02/03/2022 12:30

....plus a cat

OlympicProcrastinator · 02/03/2022 12:49

That first drink sitting on a sunounger by the pool when I arrive on holiday.

The first cuddle with my child in the morning when they are all wobbly and sleepy and cute.

When it’s absolutely chucking it down with rain or it’s a storm but it’s Friday or Saturday night and I can snuggle up on the sofa or in bed with a book or telly, knowing I don’t have to get up early for work.

When someone else makes me dinner and it’s something with an obscene amount of cheese on it.

When I sit down to watch my 600lb life after a workout while I eat a salad. (Bit of a weird one granted)

valerianaofficiana · 02/03/2022 13:59

Another one, first cold, crisp gin and tonic after a hectic day, or, somewhat fucked up week, thanks to Putinski.🥸
