DH gave his female coworker a lift home past midnight

So my husband went to a works drink after work on Friday, around midnight he messaged me asking if he should get us a McDonald's, replied back saying in bed but yeah why not.
A few mins later I had no response back from him whether he was going to get McDonald's or not so I called him and I could tell he was in the car when he answered. I mentioned get the takeaway and he said do I want fries and when I was about to respond I hear a female voice. He was giving one of his coworkers a lift home past midnight!
This I'm not going to lie really got my back up.
Am I reading too much into this???

OP posts:

@Lorieandrews but he didn't respond to the response text from OP, presumably because he was then driving. LOLS!!

Do just even read and absorb the OP?

He does sound like a dream lols!

BABAHOTEL · 07/02/2022 21:04

@Dguu6u

Why the hell would you get a McDonald’s at midnight when you’re already in bed. It’s disgusting and extremely unhealthy.

Glad the food police are out now? Is McDonald's at 4pm more healthy?

Hayisforhorse · 07/02/2022 21:10

Sounds kind and thoughtful (to you and her). I would expect my DH to give a lone female colleague a lift if he could and it avoided her being put into vulnerable position.

A number of male colleagues have given me lifts or walked me back to the door of my hotel if different from theirs, to avoid me having to walk alone in the dark or wait for a cab. Nothing suspicious at all, we had a nice chat, there wasn't even a hint of anything improper, and I thought they were decent blokes as a result.

Seahorsemama · 07/02/2022 21:16

If he had anything to hide he would ? Decline call or tell colleague to stay quiet?

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 07/02/2022 21:16

YABU, they're colleagues. If it was a sneaky secret he wouldn't have texted you about McDonald's and she wouldn't have spoken while you were on the phone. I often give male and female colleagues a lift home from my late night jobs - I've managed not to accidentally have an affair with any of them!

BABAHOTEL · 07/02/2022 21:23

@Nocutenamesleft I love a name change fail!! It's a dream lol!

Baggins15 · 07/02/2022 21:30

I wouldn't worry at all if he picked up the phone to ask what you wanted from mcdonalds knowing she was in the car , he obviously had no intention of keeping it a secret ?oh he would of told her to be quiet and rather quick seeing mcdonalds is fast food!? I'd be more annoyed if he came home and said hw didn't help a colleague get home seems genuinely a nice man ?

Baggins15 · 07/02/2022 21:38

Re your 2nd to last reply ,we was invited to one of my partners works friends 50th and babysitter got covid so he was going to go alone ,ui did feel a bit left out as been so long since we wasn't doing our own thing and we have 4 kids 15 year old twins who are pushing their boundaries and a 11 and 6 year old .I got annoyed at 1st about how I had to be the one to stay in the house again while he git to go out and enjoy himself with friends
Felt silly after I spoke to someone as realised he works just as hard and although I was so stressed it was work related so always a good thing when building contacts,he didnt end up going as worked late that day and was knackered. But I did feel bad . I think it was the way he worded it ,oh we don't have a sitter now u can arrange one or stay home,it was that part lol glad you sorted it and feel better and got your mcdonalds lol x

It was a joke? I wasn’t having a go at anyone. I really wasn’t.

Plus I didn’t tag you did I?

Meh. I very rarely use that name. So doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Have a look. You’ll see.

ChuckMater · 07/02/2022 21:40

Would it had made any difference if it was 10pm instead of midnight?

Nocutenamesleft · 07/02/2022 21:41
@Nocutenamesleft you came across as nasty.... but roll on!
Just looked

I wasn’t even talking to you? It wasn’t even your bloody post!!!

Hahahahahah. What? What on earth made you comment to me?

CasperGutman · 07/02/2022 21:47

If he'd been planning on cheating with her he'd hardly have called you to say he was on the way home, would he?

BABAHOTEL · 07/02/2022 21:48

@Nocutenamesleft ha ha ha you quoted me first, saying you were joking and I was nasty!

Maybe a bit less wine in the evening?

It's only Monday lols!

Nocutenamesleft · 07/02/2022 21:50

Nope. Looked back. You quoted me first. That’s what I didn’t understand.

I don’t drink wine. Thank god.

Avocadoandlemons · 07/02/2022 21:50

He sounds nice

BABAHOTEL · 07/02/2022 21:51

@Nocutenamesleft you really don't know who you are or what you're doing!

But you're very entertaining lols!

When I've got time tomorrow, I'm going to advance search your posts, I think I'm going to get a right laugh 😂

Yeah right. Pants on fire!

Haha.

I quoted someone at 20.30. You quoted me at 21.03

Randomly. That’s why I couldn’t place you. You just randomly popped up.

Me and the hubby have had a proper giggle trying to work out why you just started on me.

Anyway. I’ll leave you to it now love

Still giggling thinking about it

Sedai · 07/02/2022 21:56

What's there to worry about? He said he was getting you food on the way home and spoke to you in the car, he was hardly going for a bit of midnight dogging.
And to echo PP- with all the devastating stories of late, would you really rather be married to a man who would let a woman walk home alone at midnight?

BABAHOTEL · 07/02/2022 21:56

@Nocutenamesleft I

DH gave his female coworker a lift home past midnight
BABAHOTEL · 07/02/2022 21:57

@Nocutenamesleft oh you and hubby .... lols!

Nocutenamesleft · 07/02/2022 22:01

I’m lorieandrews. Hence he name change fail. That I don’t care about. Cos I don’t use that name.

If you go back. I quoted someone at 20.30. You quoted me at 21.03. But I don’t know why?
