So my husband went to a works drink after work on Friday, around midnight he messaged me asking if he should get us a McDonald's, replied back saying in bed but yeah why not.
A few mins later I had no response back from him whether he was going to get McDonald's or not so I called him and I could tell he was in the car when he answered. I mentioned get the takeaway and he said do I want fries and when I was about to respond I hear a female voice. He was giving one of his coworkers a lift home past midnight!
This I'm not going to lie really got my back up.
Am I reading too much into this???

Would you rather she walked home??

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 05/02/2022 22:50

What's the problem?

Freddiefox · 05/02/2022 22:50

What’s the problem?

Lazypuppy · 05/02/2022 22:50

YABU and ridiculous

Runningupthecurtains · 05/02/2022 22:51

Would you prefer that he let her get home alone at midnight?

RedskyThisNight · 05/02/2022 22:51

Totally normal to drop colleagues home after a night out.
If he was asking about getting McDonalds, he clearly wasn't going to do anything other then drop her off.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 05/02/2022 22:51

Would it have been better to let a woman walk home alone?

Hospedia · 05/02/2022 22:51

Unless he has form for cheating or crossing boundaries then YABU, he was doing a nice thing giving her a lift home with it being late.

fitzbilly · 05/02/2022 22:51

Nice of him not to leave a colleague to find their own way home past midnight! Surely that's a good thing?

PhoboPhobia · 05/02/2022 22:52

Why does it bother you? Does he have a history of being untrustworthy?

Inspectorslack · 05/02/2022 22:52

I wouldn’t have a problem with this.

Porcupineintherough · 05/02/2022 22:52

Round here the buses stop by eleven so it seems a perfectly reasonable time to be giving a colleague a lift. You know fucking can happen at any time right?

Shortofspace · 05/02/2022 22:52

He's being a gentleman

booplefloof · 05/02/2022 22:52

He sounds lovely. I don't understand your AIBU.

If he'd given her a lift before midnight would it have been better ?

Chichimcgee · 05/02/2022 22:53

I think he’s been really nice actually, after midnight and dropping her home. Answered the phone to you knowing she was in the car so not being secretive or anything.

BurbageBrook · 05/02/2022 22:53

YABU.

WhatEvenHappened44 · 05/02/2022 22:53

Sounds like a nice man OP? ... unless he was drink driving ofc. What exactly are you worried about?

TheUsualChaos · 05/02/2022 22:54

Surely you'd appreciate the lift home from someone if you were her?

Seems weird to get upset about this unless there are some trust issues going on.

Gregsprinkles · 05/02/2022 22:54

Omg, not past midnight??

Wind up.

spotcheck · 05/02/2022 22:54

Is it a two hour drive?

I think it's a Good Thing too.

He saw a colleague safely home, AND is picking up MacDonalds 😊

Peachtoiletpaper · 05/02/2022 22:54

Is there reason not to trust him? Seems a normal and nice thing to do

Fittleswade · 05/02/2022 22:54

I'd be more worried if he didn't...

AnneLovesGilbert · 05/02/2022 22:54

What did he say when he got home? Did you get your food?

What do you suspect him of?
