DH gave his female coworker a lift home past midnight

So my husband went to a works drink after work on Friday, around midnight he messaged me asking if he should get us a McDonald's, replied back saying in bed but yeah why not.
A few mins later I had no response back from him whether he was going to get McDonald's or not so I called him and I could tell he was in the car when he answered. I mentioned get the takeaway and he said do I want fries and when I was about to respond I hear a female voice. He was giving one of his coworkers a lift home past midnight!
This I'm not going to lie really got my back up.
Am I reading too much into this???

I can't believe you are on MN asking about this. Honestly OP, would you rather he just let her walk home? Giving someone a lift home is perfectly reasonable. YABVU.

Shoxfordian · 06/02/2022 05:27

Don’t you trust him?

FlapsInTheWind · 06/02/2022 05:28

They would have had sex for certain.

How cold was the maccies?

HoppingPavlova · 06/02/2022 05:54

If my DH didn’t give a coworker, be it make or female but particularly female, a lift home once it has become dark I would think he was a complete arsehole and would wonder why I was with him.

Would you prefer someone walked home and was potentially attacked?

Vanillacronut · 06/02/2022 05:55

I am female and have one of my male colleagues a lift home a few weeks ago well after midnight on a night out. Wasn’t planned at, he didn’t live too far out of my way and it saved him getting a taxi. I did it for no other reason but to be kind 🤷‍♀️.. i would hate for either my husband or his fiancée to think anything other thank that!

jimmyjammy001 · 06/02/2022 06:17

The fact that you even considered these feelings would suggest you have trust issues in your relationship, if my partner said they were giving work colleague a lift home after midnight I would be thinking well done for looking out for her safety, not what are they going to be getting up to

ddl1 · 06/02/2022 06:25

Unless you have some reason not to trust him, and think this was a lie, I don't see a problem. Getting a lift home is safer than walking at that time.

LadyPropane · 06/02/2022 06:30

What did you end up getting from Maccas?

MumWithYOPD · 06/02/2022 06:41

@ExtraOnion
Could you hear her voice ? She must have been wanking him off, rather than giving him a Blow Job then …

🤣😂🤣 best response

@FlapsInTheWind

They would have had sex for certain.

😂

loveattheFair · 06/02/2022 06:56

Why is the 'past midnight' part relevant?

Does coworker live near you?

Whatsonmymindgrapes · 06/02/2022 07:01

I’d be happy he was making sure she got home, it was after midnight after all! And he asked you what food you wanted and answered the phone and didn’t hide she was with him. You’re being controlling and not nice.

emmathedilemma · 06/02/2022 07:13

Your biggest issue here is eating McDonalds at gone midnight when you've already gone to bed!

Darbs76 · 06/02/2022 07:16

I don’t see the problem. Man offers female colleague a lift home as it’s gone midnight and he’s concerned about her safety getting home presumably. Would you rather she walked? Yes you are being very unreasonable and if there was anything going on he wouldn’t be messaging you asking if you want a McDonald’s

loveattheFair · 06/02/2022 07:20

Also, who was the female coworker talking to when you was on the phone ? Was there potentially more people in the car?

isthisit83 · 06/02/2022 07:25

He did the right thing!!!!!

Darkstar4855 · 06/02/2022 07:30

I’ve had lifts home from male colleagues many a time after a work night out. Never shagged any of them.

BoPeeple · 06/02/2022 07:33

Never mind the (very U) OP.

Who eats a McDonald’s AFTER they’ve got into bed??!

Yuckypretty · 06/02/2022 07:35

Was he drink driving?

borntobequiet · 06/02/2022 07:36

I can’t get past the McDonalds in bed.

BABAHOTEL · 06/02/2022 07:37

@Yuckypretty

Was he drink driving?
What?

Why would you think that? I'm sure OP would mention that!

camperqueen54 · 06/02/2022 07:38

I just hope when you need a lift home one night at midnight there won't be some guys wife going ' no get my mac y Ds and leave her to walk'

Yuckypretty · 06/02/2022 07:39

@BABAHOTEL because of the first line in OPs first post, it says he went for drinks.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 06/02/2022 07:40

You can't have MDs as an extra meal! You'll get a MCstomachache and end up with the mcshits.

If it was after midnight does that mean the breakfast menu was on? Not sure what time it starts...

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 06/02/2022 07:40

I read the title and thought you were going to say how lovely he is.
Tbh I'd expect my DH to do that and I'd do the same myself. I'd love him even more for bringing me home an unexpected midnight macds!
