I've been seeing lots of jacket potato photos for some reason in my FB feed. And LOADS of people are having 2 potatoes??? There are normal size jacket potatoes.

Have I been missing a trick?

This thread inspired me to have them for dinner last night - I had three with beans. (Three fist sized ones from a 4 pack because they are small now.) The skin is the best bit so you get more that way.

I am not sorry Grin

Normally I would have said just one but as others have said, the potatoes in the 4 packs recently are very small so been having two . Unless it was a side to a meal, then just the one .

They aren’t just carbs either, they’re really nutritious and are a complete protein:

“A medium potato has 4g of protein, just shy of 10% of the recommended daily intake. Most importantly, potato protein is complete containing all 9 essential amino acids (albeit 3 of them, tryptophan, methionine and cysteine in low amounts).“

You should be able to fit the potato in your cupped hand. Anything more is too much.

Don’t spud and drive. Look what happened to Brian Harvey.

I generally have things like cheese and beans on mine, so the beans and cheese alone make it a heavier meal. I could never eat 2!

Plus I need room in my tummy for all the wine GrinWine

They've been really small recently. I need 1 and a 1/2 of the small ones.

Dogmummy1980 · 05/02/2022 15:04

Oooh all depends on the size of the potato!

We buy the big bags of Maris pipers so we can bake/mash/roast them depending on what’s for tea - sometimes there’s some quite big ones in there which we use as a single baked potato but this time they are all smallish and I served 2 each to everyone for tea

Has nobody spoken of the potato that they share for dinner on Monday and use the leftovers for the rest of the week yet? Like the mothership chicken.
