I've been seeing lots of jacket potato photos for some reason in my FB feed. And LOADS of people are having 2 potatoes??? There are normal size jacket potatoes.

Have I been missing a trick?

Why all the Brian Harvey references?

And how big are the potatoes where people are eating 2 or 3? They must be very small.

BoredZelda · 04/02/2022 15:17

@Shitandhills yep. 4 minutes.

junglejane66 · 04/02/2022 16:29

DH and I normally share a small one, plus there are leftovers for the rest of the week

And so there should be, no wonder there’s an obesity crisis in this country.
SartresSoul · 04/02/2022 16:34

I’d have two if they were really small but otherwise one.

marktayloruk · 04/02/2022 17:53

I eat several at a time-not all devised specifically as jacket though.

Dnaltocs · 04/02/2022 18:06

2 small for lunch + cheese or egg or cold meat etc
1 big for dinner. Not on the same day.

PickledOnionSandwich · 04/02/2022 18:18

They’d have to be really tiny for me to have two and I don’t recall that situation ever occurring.

skippink · 04/02/2022 18:29

Depends on how hungry you are 😂

Scbchl · 04/02/2022 18:33

One baked potato with filling and side salad for all of us except dh who has a physical job and has two.

Gilly12345 · 04/02/2022 18:46

One each is plenty with salad on side and decent toppings(s).

LoisLane66 · 04/02/2022 18:58

I personally would only have one decent size potato with filling and perhaps a big side salad.
Two seems a lot of carbs.

Bertiebiscuit · 04/02/2022 19:10

I can't imagine ever eating more than one jacket potato - they are very filling imo

Yogalola · 04/02/2022 19:13

Suppose it’s all down to how much weight you want to put on

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 04/02/2022 19:22

We need to know the weights!

I’d call about 200g a good sized one, since I’ve just weighed one to see what our usual JPs would be. Last night we had them with just cauliflower cheese.
Anything much smaller, then unless the rest of the meal was very filling, I’d do 3 - one and a half each for me and dh.

I always buy them loose, easier to get the size you want.

boringperson123 · 04/02/2022 19:22

I make 3 between me and my partner and one gets split in half between us - so one and a half. Perfect amount

Brian Harvey ate too many baked potatoes and ran himself over while vomiting out of his moving vehicle.
CornishGem1975 · 04/02/2022 19:32

I'd only have one but my teenage son always has two!

LoisLane66 · 04/02/2022 20:27

I often buy mine from M&S. Can't remember the price but 2 large ones in pack, precooked and with herby butter and cheese topping. Heat n eat. Just make or buy the salad. I like drained tuna as an alternative filling.

gogohm · 04/02/2022 20:28

1 of course but I usually have quiche and salad with it

LovelyIssues · 04/02/2022 20:45

I eat 2. With mountains of cheese and beans... but then I'm a fat cow Blush (I'm actually a size 6, I just have an extroaordinarily big appetite)

Dontsayfuckorbugger · 04/02/2022 20:48

All depends on the size of the potato. I would only have one but I would only buy a massive one if i was having it as a jacket potato. No point messing about with anything smaller 😉

Mandyjack · 04/02/2022 20:55

I only have 1 but have it with other stuff like chicken and salad if its a dinner

DerAlteMann · 04/02/2022 20:59

One jacket potato! That's being short changed. Always 2.
