Everyone should continue to call him Prince Andrew

I’ve seen a few people, and TV programmes and things, saying he’s just Andrew now.

He’s not, though, is he? He’s still a prince, that can’t be taken from him, like his other titles. He should continue to be called Prince Andrew.

“But he doesn’t deserve to be a prince”, people say. Well, no-one does, that’s the whole deal with a monarchy. You don’t get to pick and choose, there’s no merit, it’s entirely about whose cock and balls were involved.

Royals have done appalling things for centuries, it’s their divine right. If you don’t like it, stop supporting it.

What is he (or anyone else) going to do if someone omits the Prince bit. Flounce? Who cares.

Also, divine right? Hilarious. Grin

hangrylady · 24/01/2022 09:11

How about Prince Nonce?

TheLeadbetterLife · 24/01/2022 09:16

@Blossomtoes

I don’t think anyone thinks the monarchy is meritocratic - or not at least if they understand the meaning of the word. The vast majority of people don’t really care about them, they just provide a bit of spectacle on big occasions.

I’m not convinced the Queen has defended or protected him for decades either. She was probably in blissful ignorance until the last two or three years, just like the rest of us.

He hasn't all of a sudden become a wrong 'un, there have been stories about him for years and years, not to mention his dodgy business dealings and general fuckwittery. Why on earth would the queen be last to know? She's head of the household and the whole bloody country. It's public pressure that has resulted in this begrudging, "okay he'll only be HRH behind closed doors", not the queen's conscience.

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 24/01/2022 09:17

Yes, think people get the HRH and Prince/Princess mixed up. Not sure I massively understand the significance of them myself but seems like you can be a Prince(ss) without being a HRH?

Byebyeboris · 24/01/2022 09:28

Hi Fergie.

Prescottdanni123 · 24/01/2022 09:35

There are examples throughout history of monarchs who have stripped relatives of the prince/Princess title and relegated them to just the son/daughter of the king/Queen. It is a title you are born with, but you can lose it if you are deigned unworthy of it.

Peoniesandpeaches · 24/01/2022 09:39

Why should parliament have to waste time on him? Titles only have the meaning we confer to them and if we simply stop using it then it stops mattering. He is an asshole and has wasted enough tax payers money as it is.

TheChip · 24/01/2022 09:42

Prince of the pervs

CathyorClaire · 24/01/2022 09:54

So I’ve seen first hand the media twisting things. They’ve decided to portray him as a baddy

I think he managed that all by himself when he chose the company he was keeping over decades.

CathyorClaire · 24/01/2022 09:58

She was probably in blissful ignorance until the last two or three years, just like the rest of us.

I wonder what the army of advisers and whisperers around her were doing all those years.

@Byebyeboris

Hi Fergie.
I don't think you're reading OP's posts...
Threewheeler1 · 24/01/2022 10:07

Time to get rid of them all I say.
I have plenty of very descriptive words for royals and peers and the whole feudal system. What a stupid corrupt farce it all is. And don't get me started on the bowing, scraping and forelock tugging...

PrivateHall · 24/01/2022 10:08

@SerialNo

How about The Andrew formerly known as Prince?
LOVE this!
thereisonlyoneofme · 24/01/2022 10:18

It still amazes me that he has been hung drawn and quartered without any actual proof.

Does it? The lynch mob mentality is alive and well still. Proof? Proper investigation? Innocent until proved guilty? These people don’t need any of that stuff. They detest the monarchy and this gives them the perfect excuse to stick the boot in. The faux outrage would be a lot less if he was Mr Andrew Nobody. There’s very little baying for the blood of all the other men associated with Epstein.
MissBattleaxe · 24/01/2022 10:34

The point for me is that this very obviously young girl kept being brought out so he could sleep with her and he never once thought to wonder why or ask why his billionaire friend had so many very young girls around? Any honourable man would put two and two together and get out of there and/or report it.

He is also the father of daughters himself and doesn't seem to regard his own daughters as the same species. Also he did himself zero favours when he lied his pants off during that interview. He came across as an entitled lying sleazebag with a huge superiority complex. He's wriggled like a fish on a hook and refused to speak to The FBI. He's tried to use several loopholes to get the vase dismissed, including offering an out of court settlement.

Not the actions of an innocent man keen to protect the victims and prove his innocence.

HermioneWeasley · 24/01/2022 10:35

According to high court testimony, the royal protection officers refer to him as “the cunt”

RobotValkyrie · 24/01/2022 10:37

YANBU, OP

People need to stop idolising royalty and imbue it with magical virtues. Of course a Prince can be a rapist, and that doesn't stop them being a Prince, whether anyone likes it or not. That's the whole point. Monarchy is not democracy. Monarchy is about inherited privilege which exists regardless of any individual vices or virtues.
If anyone doesn't like that idea, they should consider they might be a Republican at heart...

tonicwaterparty · 24/01/2022 10:45

Nonce Andrew

TheKeatingFive · 24/01/2022 10:48

It still amazes me that he has been hung drawn and quartered without any actual proof.

Pretty much everything he's ever done has revealed him to be a total tit of a man (best case situation).

Are you mixing him up with someone else? 🤔

Keke94LND · 24/01/2022 10:49

Who cares?

Blossomtoes · 24/01/2022 10:50

If being a total tit were a crime there would be more people in prison than out of it. And the Conservative party would have disappeared decades ago.

MindyStClaire · 24/01/2022 10:55

Leaving this particular gentleman to one side, it's a difficult question isn't it.

Because I want to believe in innocent until proven guilty, and due process. But I also know about the appalling conviction rates for rape and sexual assault and the importance of believing women who have been through horrendous ordeals and will never get justice in the courts.

TheKeatingFive · 24/01/2022 10:57

If being a total tit were a crime there would be more people in prison than out of it.

With Andrew you have total tit + multiple instances of documented bad behaviour + case brought against him for sexual abuse + hanging out with known peodophiles and sex traffickers (long after that was public knowledge) + never once expressing any concern for victims despite ample opportunity to do so.

That's all factual. Not a great picture is it?

3peassuit · 24/01/2022 10:58

He’s doing an excellent job in showing how ridiculous the whole idea of monarchy and inherited titles are. Bread and circuses indeed.
