They are all so unprofessional I don't know which is a parody account on twitter half the time

Florianus · 23/01/2022 17:29

@Notonthestairs

Ghani states that she doesn't know whether the comments were made by Conservative party members. And therefore to quote David Allen Green "a party complaint investigation is not apt" as it falls within government business.

I wouldn't worry about the thread being unnecessarily prolonged - I'd hazard a guess it's likely to run for a while yet.

It's a bit tricky to investigate who said what if she doesn't know!

EDIT: Just seen JJ has made the same point.

Trilley · 23/01/2022 17:30

The current cabinet are all so thick, it is incredible.

The problem is that all the brighter ones ended up resigning or being pushed out over May's and Johnson's shenanigans, leaving only the dross available. When you're reduced to making Numbskull Nadine a minister, you really are scraping the dregs.

ClaudineClare · 23/01/2022 17:31

Are you going to stop making up things that I have not said, or would you prefer me to make a complaint about you to the MN moderators? It is against the rules to misrepresent what other users have written

I think MNHQ would probably have a collective breakdown if they had to sift through Flo's posts to ascertain what Flo did or didn't say, given Flo's twisting and turning on this thread.

Maybe Sue Gray could look into it all.

It wasn't an internal party matter.

And neither is the work of a government Minister in Downing Street.

I've made up things that some posters have posted on here.
Quite an achievement, I think I might put it on my CV.

She's complaining about what a member of her own party is alleged to have said (even though she doesn't now seem to be able to remember it), that's why it is a party matter.

This. There are some grown ups left on the back benches though. I’m hoping one of them comes through in the inevitable leadership contest. As Janice Turner said yesterday, what we need now is someone dull, sensible and serious with integrity - come back, John Major, all is forgiven!

@JaniieJones

'Ghani states that she doesn't know whether the comments were made by Conservative party members'

Yes she doesn’t seem to know who said what. Be a tricky complaint for her to write won't it.

Not really, she knows who told her that complaints about her being Muslim was the reason for her removal as Minister.

Boris' wallpaper was paid for by a party member. That's why it was a party matter?

Please do, because I have formed the impression that this is something you are prepared to do with other posters, me included. I have been told by you that I was wrong, when reporting the fact that the Tories lost the North Shropshire by election, and that I had forgotten another by election.

When asking who appointed Rees-Mogg to his post, I was told it was to ludicrous for you to reply. I know as well as you do he is in that position because Boris Johnson appointed him to it.

Some of your posts have already been pulled, so be careful, you might find a few more go.

Florianus · 23/01/2022 17:41

Just to be clear, the Conservative Party Complaints Procedure (easily found on line) specifically states that it is for, among other things, acts of discrimination by party officials. I therefore still do not see why she refused to use it.

The act of discrimination was by a government minister in their work as a government minister, so it would be appropriate for the breach to be investigated by the keeper of the Ministerial Code, that is how it worked when Boris Johnson and Priti Patel for instance broke the Ministerial Code, why should it be different in this case?

One of my posts, because I told the poster what I thought of him/her when I probably should instead have made a formal complaint. However, I have never made a complaint about a poster - I do not believe in silencing people, however rude they are.

Peregrina · 23/01/2022 17:46

Except of course when Priti Patel broke the Ministerial code, Johnson wanted everyone to rally round 'the Pritster' and refused to take any action.

22itsallnew · 23/01/2022 17:48

@Florianus you have called Johnson ‘odious’ and questioned his honesty this morning. So why have you spent the best part of a week on this thread / theme defending his Government?

Wouldn’t you rather be spending your time supporting a leader you actually rate?

Florianus · 23/01/2022 17:49

Because the alleged comment was made by the party's Chief Whip. His title of Chief Secretary to the Treasury is purely Honorific and the MP concerned was not asking about financial matters.

I have answered this many times before, so why bore everyone by asking the same question again?

Gaslighting multiple posters on two entire threads and making them all about you instead of the topic, now that's a different matter, right?

I'm reporting you again for spamming and trolling, as I wanted to join in this discussion this weekend. You've ruined it for me as I'm sure you have for many other people.

Peregrina · 23/01/2022 17:52

One of my posts,

Two today actually at 10:30 and 12:03. I have no idea what they said because I was out at the time. That page of the thread has the look of a Swiss Cheese because a few posts by others got pulled.

ClaudineClare · 23/01/2022 17:53

More than one of your posts have been pulled @Florianus. I know because one of my posts was pulled because it quoted your pulled post and then another of my posts was pulled just after another of your was.

Because raiding a complaint against one of your bosses is bloody hard under normal circumstances.

Raising it against the people who hold your political career in their hands must feel almost impossible. I believe her.

LolaLouLou · 23/01/2022 17:54

Sorry that was in response to Florianus
