Do you find takeaways gross?

Evening

Do you find takeaways gross, and avoid them at all costs?
I generally don't order takeout, only from time to time. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I start eating them, and I honestly can just not finish it?! And feel kinda gross after or repulsed by the food tbh.

I generally try to go for lighter, healthier takeaways, so non-greasy foods, maybe Wagamama's but I was recently put off this too. Another time I had a Nando's wrap and coleslaw without chips and that was fine.

Sometimes I don't want to cook, and feel I'll want a takeout but then when I do, it just doesn't taste right. Maybe my body isn't taking to it. I really don't know how people order takeaway every few days without feeling sick.

Apart from buying alternatives for days I don't want to cook, eg oven food or dinners that can be made really quickly . Is there anything else you suggest for when I feel I may want one? It often just feels like a waste of money after and I then feel I'd have been better off cooking.

Do those here who actively avoid takeaways always have a homemade meal ready or what do you do?

For myself, I rarely have a takeaway. If I do it would be fish and chips, or a McDonalds drive through, if traveling somewhere. Other than that, I do not bother. I would rather have egg and chips than spend my money on mediocre fare.

Can't abide chippy food, but we've a good Indian or Chinese.

I bloody love an Indian takeaway on Friday night I eat far too much and then roll around complaining about how full I am (DH is a lucky man)!

I really like Indian takeaway, I always order something tandoori and a chapati so avoid rice and anything with sauce because it's a lot of empty calories. Chinese food I always order a fish dish like prawns with black beans or something and then either noodles/spiced chips/spring rolls but do usually feel horrible after. Dominoes revolts me. Fish and chips I don't eat the batter just the fish and I'll eat the chips but feel guilty about it and a bit gross. There's so much oil in it all and really hard to pick healthy options. Though if I'm hungry I will eat first and ask questions later. 😅ill be screwed when my metabolism slows down which it inevitably will.
