The title says it all.

Yes it's in the fail and in my rage I cannot work out how to copy the link.

Please tell me I'm wrong and missread the story?

@Bonsaibreaker

What on earth are you talking about? So we can't tackle climate change until we sort out every other problem in the world first?

Climate change is a first world problem.
The people that provide this world with its population are seen as second class citizens yet the next generations safety is oh so important. Maybe start with providing mothers with safety helthcare support is a good way to secure the next generation?

Wow, now that's a fine example of first world ignorance. There are thousands if not millions in the global south feeling the impact of climate change. We in the north can behave like ignorant twats for a while, but it's coming for us too.

Women and girls are also most likely to suffer because of climate change. It's possible to be concerned about multiple issues.

Climate change is real and dangerous. It’s an important issue.

I never said it wasn't.
However 66,000 women and girls killed every year..
So where was the last "female lives matter" summet all world leaders attended?“

Do you think Taliban would attend this summit?
You’re shouting at the wrong leaders.

Bonsaibreaker · 02/11/2021 23:45

You do realise that we have no power to make the laws in Afghanistan? And that whether pubs have plastic or paper straws does not change that

You do realise child sex abuse is rife in the UK? It's not just an Afghanistan thing Hmm

You stay quiet thats OK. Call me a loon if it makes you feel better.

Porcupineintherough · 02/11/2021 23:48

Calling names is cheap, as is ranting in here. What are you going to do about it?

Kanaloa · 02/11/2021 23:48

You just sound stupider and stupider, and the only person who agrees with you is someone who says they don’t even believe in climate change. So of course other issues will take precedent for them over an issue they don’t believe exists.

This IS an important issue, and your feelings on it are totally understandable. They aren’t stupid at all. Trying to make out that this issue could somehow be resolved by not talking about climate change or that climate change is a less important issue is what’s making this whole thread ridiculous. Let this issue stand on its own merit, so talk about it independent of other issues, not trying to bring one issue up by pushing down another.

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/11/2021 23:48

“You do realise child sex abuse is rife in the UK? “

I was an abused child, in the UK, in the 1960s/70s.

What’s your solution and what are you doing to further it?

Bonsaibreaker · 02/11/2021 23:48

You’re shouting at the wrong leaders.

Was I addressing the Taliban MrsSky?

Have they attended the climate summit?

Sorry I didn't realise I needed to check with the Taliban before expressing feminist views..I mean they are the expert's.......

If you want to prevent child marriage in Afghanistan you are going to have to talk to the Tsliban, yes. Or defeat them. Which is it to ve?

Bonsaibreaker · 02/11/2021 23:50

What’s your solution and what are you doing to further it

I am doing nothing to further child abuse!!

I am trying to draw attention to the fact that women and children abuse is ignored globally.

As I am not a 1 woman army I choose instead to gain support. To force my country to take action by supportive numbers. To protest. To demonstrate. To speak out.

I would rather do something than nothing.

OP posts:
Kanaloa · 02/11/2021 23:56

If you’re trying to speak out and gain support you’re going the wrong way about it. If you do it this way all you end up doing is starting a fight about which issue matters more/bringing peoples minds to the issue of climate change. You would be better off raising awareness for this issue independent of other issues.

user1495885821 · 02/11/2021 23:57

The best way to stop woman and children from being abused is to raise them out of poverty and get them educated. It isn't foolproof, woman and children are abused in well-off countries like the UK but they are a darn sight better off than in countries like Afghanistan. Climate change is going to force more people into poverty and desparation and it will be the woman and children that suffer the most.

Mamanyt · 02/11/2021 23:59

If we don't move on global warming very quickly, that nine-year-old girl will be choking to death on polluted air in 50 years. NOTHING will matter if climate control is not attended to right now.

Labelicious · 02/11/2021 23:59

Tbh, you pretty much lost me when you said climate change is a first world problem. It’s quite difficult to engage with someone showing that level of ignorance.

You’re being deliberately obtuse now. You know that what I was asking was what is your solution to child abuse in the UK and what are you, personally, doing to further that solution?

specialsauce · 03/11/2021 00:04

"If you're fucking a sea lion I think the people at COP would definitely want a word with you."

Grin lol

Bonsaibreaker · 03/11/2021 00:05

Better than being raped every night by a 55 year old man don't you think?

Don't you just love the choice little girls face? Rape or choking on pollution.

Allycott · 03/11/2021 00:07

@Kanaloa

Everybody can’t talk about everything all the time. Different issues need to be discussed at different times, otherwise it just all becomes redundant.

Why are we taking about 9 year old girls being sold to men instead of what’s happening in North Korea?

Why are we talking about North Korea instead of what’s happening in Myanmar?

Why are we talking about Myanmar instead of the statistics on domestic abuse?

Why are we talking about domestic abuse instead of how many children are killed by their own family, such as Arthur Labinjo-Hughes?

And what does any of this matter if progress in these areas isn’t going to last many more generations because the planet we’re living on is dying?

I think the human race is warped beyond redemption. Children, animals, landscape and resources are bludgeoned for profit. Maybe an end to ALL suffering is overdue. The world is generally a fucking horrible place and I for one would not care if it ended tonight.
Bonsaibreaker · 03/11/2021 00:09

I gave you a stupid answer.

I probably do more than you. Do you want my life story and job description?

OP posts:
gofg · 03/11/2021 00:14

Climate change is a first world problem.

What a ridiculous statement!

Here's a thought. Maybe we make selling little girls for food/sex/laughs a fucking crime regardless of the weather.

Another ridiculous statement. In many parts of the world it is a crime, but why do you naively imagine that world leaders can come together to dictate what other countries consider a crime? You really don't have a clue do you.

MrsSkylerWhite · 03/11/2021 00:14

Why is “what are you doing about it?” a stupid question?
Don’t want your life story but if you could give other people an idea of what you are personally doing to address this and what they might also do, that would obviously be more fruitful than just insulting people.

YourFinestPantaloons · 03/11/2021 00:15

I know what you mean OP. Women and girls are never, ever a priority, ever

Bonsaibreaker · 03/11/2021 00:19

but why do you naively imagine that world leaders can come together to dictate what other countries consider a crime? You really don't have a clue do you.

They can come together and discuss climate change and publicy call out those countries that didn't. Yet discussing 66,000 female deaths per year is a no no.....
