He has gone to Liverpool till Monday.
The hotel is paid for and includes breakfast.
He has taken £400 spending money.

He said "the bars are quite expensive down there"

So basically he is happy to potentially waste £400 on alcohol for two nights.

I'm annoyed and think it's pathetic
He said we are going for a nice meal tonight too.

£400 for two nights is just scandalous I think

However much he's spent, I can guarantee he'll be having an absolutely amazing time right now, at least half of Liverpool will be out on the lash as we speak FootballFootballFootball

LoisLane66 · 24/10/2021 19:41

£60 for main and starter at a steakhouse plus a bottle of wine or 3 beers would not cost that amount where I live near Guildford Surrey, never mind Liverpool. Unless he's going REALLY upmarket which I doubt.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 24/10/2021 19:43

@RobertaFirmino

DH is LFC fan , DS2 is MUFC fan so it's always double the fun when they are up against each other!🤣
great game today. Salah doesn't disappoint.

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/10/2021 19:49

A solvent adult doesn’t need to justify how they spend their own money
And a partner doesn’t need to be tutty and aghast at a weekend away

Allsorts1 · 24/10/2021 20:00

I wouldnt worry about drugs or strippers OP - £400 wouldn’t get you that plus food, drinks and taxis!

LoisLane66 · 24/10/2021 20:02

If your personal monthly income is about 1250 and you put 500 into savings and 200 personal spends, that leaves you 550 to pay ALL the rent and half the food bill. 🤔
You mention that he's 'going down' to Liverpool which suggests that you're in the North East or Scotland.
You have children. Are rentals, even 2 bed flats, so cheap where you live, that 540 covers all your rent plus half food bills?
Wow!

Bangolads · 24/10/2021 20:02

@rachybarrr is it me or does this seem more about the fact that you don’t seem to trust him?

LoisLane66 · 24/10/2021 20:05

...and Manchester is only 40 miles from Liverpool.

Drumshambo · 24/10/2021 20:07

Has the op ever come back?

Aprilx · 24/10/2021 20:07

@rachybarrr

Really ? God I couldn't imagine spending that much on drinks. He only drinks pints and JD How many is he planning on drinking
Presume he plans to eat as well. 🧐
Peppermintpatty24 · 24/10/2021 20:10

No. I'm with you....it is a lot for a couple of days.

rachybarrr · 24/10/2021 20:25

@LoisLane66 we are from Sunderland
Our 3 bed mortgage is £320 a month
So cost of living is really affordable up here

rachybarrr · 24/10/2021 20:26

No I do trust him,it's just his spending habits that drive me mad

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/10/2021 20:47

He’s entitled to spend as he wishes without your approval or permission
As indeed are you. You’re a bit over invested in this tbh

Fluffmum · 24/10/2021 20:48

Better have enough money. 400 sounds about right

Cassimin · 24/10/2021 20:50

We live in Liverpool. We went out yesterday for a meal locally 2 of us starter and main £64.
Son went out last night paid £21 for 1 rum and 1 vodka in a bar that charges £15 entry.
Depends where you go, there are cheap bars and expensive ones. We tend to go to the cheap ones!
But if you are away from home it’s nice to treat yourself.

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/10/2021 20:52

This thread makes me want to visit Liverpool it’s been too long…

LoisLane66 · 24/10/2021 20:56

@rachybarrr
Good grief...you lucky people.
My rent is 795 for a 1 bed flat. 😲

LoisLane66 · 24/10/2021 20:58

@EspressoDoubleShot.
Enjoy but just don't stay at the Adelphi.

Just seen your rent/mortgage is only £320 a month that is a bargain

£230 a month for half your food and I assume household goods is really cheap as well. Do you want a lodger? Be extra cash for you 😂

Liverpool is expensive these days so I reckon £400 is about right. You need to spend the same on something though and not feel you have to justify a £50 jacket to him

DerAlteMann · 24/10/2021 21:17

If you think bars in Liverpool are expensive you're clearly not from London! I would have thought £150 max. would be reasonable.

RussianSpy101 · 24/10/2021 21:21

@LoisLane66 why do you doubt he is going upmarket? Do you know him personally?

Have you been to Liverpool recently?

2 nights and 3 days I have no idea where you can get food and drink for that price

starsparkle08 · 24/10/2021 21:29

I think it’s a lot of money - well to me it is . Must be some rich people on here

lastqueenofscotland · 24/10/2021 21:32

Lunch, dinner and drinks for £200 a day is super reasonable
