Our society just doesn’t work for women

Not really an aibu but I am horrified by the Sabina Nessa murder. She was killed by a random stranger during a 5 min walk to meet a friend at 8 fucking 30 in the evening. What the fuck is this? Do we as women now need to hide ourselves away from 5pm to be safe?

I don’t follow the logic that if men are responsible for ten murders a year and women one murder a year, and we take away the men, women will suddenly start murdering eleven people a year to make up the numbers, no

Clearly not Hmm

What then?

Eliminate the men and the women are just as likely to be violent to each other.

Really? I think it's highly unlikely that women's violent inclinations are being kept in check by men. If that's the case then perhaps they could redirect their energy to reducing the violent behaviour of men.

Women certainly can have a propensity for violence but it's ridiculous to suggest it's equal to men. All the evidence shows most violent and sexually violent crime is committed by men.

@TonyThreePies

Men should stop home after 5pm then we could walk freely.
Do you have a son? Husband? Father? Any make person in your life that you actually like?

Do you want to imprison them after a certain time of day?

Don’t be so utterly ridiculous.

DixonD · 23/09/2021 18:54

*male, not make.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 23/09/2021 18:57

@OnlyFoolsnMothers

Seems a tad extreme post- the same could be said in response to every teen stabbing, a daily occurrence in London
Mainly violence perpetuated by males.

So the advice to men to stop murdering other humans, is valid advice.

Loving that there are two threads about how to make a better world and they mostly involve getting rid of the male population. And there was
me thinking that this site was generally anti-genocide and anti-eugenics Confused

I don’t think anyone is actually suggesting we do it. Just that logically, it would result in fewer murders.

You know there are other posters on this thread, yes?

I know. I’m just interested in your views, since you’re the only one who suggested women would become more violent without men to make up the numbers.

I think men, generally speaking, are the source of most of society's ills-violence, murder, paedophilia, war, man-made disease, etc.

I wonder how the world would be if there were far fewer men in the world...

DamnUserName21 · 23/09/2021 19:13

DamnUserName21 · 23/09/2021 19:16

Would women become more aggressive if men became a scarce resource to fight over or would we share harmoniously Grin

Diceychoice · 23/09/2021 19:25

I personally don't want rid of men, I want the ones who are violent towards women because they can be and want to be and feel entitled to be, to change, or to be removed from society.
I want the 'good' men to start seeing this as a societal issue which we are all responsible for dealing with, not looking the other way and shrugging thinking they're doing enough by not being a 'bad' one and complaining that their feelings are hurt because some women are wary of all men.
I want women to speak up, and be heard and for some of them to stop making it all about the good mens feelings, or that women can be violent too, rather than the whole issue that men are far more likely to be violent and women are likely to be physically weaker, and addressing how we stop some men taking advantage of that.

Does anyone seriously think that telling someone its not acceptable is going to have any effect, if he is capable of murdering an innocent random girl walking through a fairly busy park at 8 pm , then i would say that talking reasonably to someone like this is not the answer

Actually, I think it would. Obviously we don’t know the specifics of this case yet, but in a lot of cases, men do feel entitled to behave a certain way and are validated for it. Look at strip clubs being an accepted part of stag nights, for example. I think we would see a massive improvement if there was a culture of ‘this is not acceptable’.
brokenbiscuitsx · 23/09/2021 20:35

I’m not saying this is the answer it’s purely speculative but imagine all women carried some sort of non lethal protection such as a taser to level up the discrepancy in physical strength. These attacks would stop wouldn’t they, for the same reason these types of men don’t randomly single out other men.
