... to ask if you were in love with the person you first had sex with?

Something I've been thinking about recently, and had a discussion with friends. Were you in love with the first person you had PIV with?

I was not. Had a BF, I did like him, everyone else was at it, so we did it.

Not looking for any details, just a yes/no vote is OK

YES: I was in love
NO: I was not in love

Yes

WhingyNinja · 02/08/2021 19:20

Yes. Turned out to be a wee shithead in the end but we were young and dumb. No regrets!

CowCat · 02/08/2021 19:21

Yes

abw94 · 02/08/2021 19:21

Yes

Conchitastrawberry · 02/08/2021 19:23

Definitely not in love with, I only met him hours before 😂😂. I was 19

onemouseplace · 02/08/2021 19:26

God, no. I do still think of him fondly though.

polkadotpixie · 02/08/2021 19:28

Yes, although he turned out to be a cheating douchebag a couple of years down the line. I don't regret it though

I wasn't really bothered about the concept of 'virginity' and he was hot so I did it despite being ridiculously nervous as he was a LOT more experienced

We'd only been seeing each other a couple of weeks but he didn't know I'd never slept with anyone before and I knew his reputation and that he would expect a sexual relationship so it was just assumed by both of us that it would happen quickly and I'm glad he pushed things along as I was really shy and would have faffed around forever otherwise 😂

Yes very much so, we almost got married, we’re still very good friends and hes an honoury uncle to my son.

Bookaholic73 · 02/08/2021 19:32

Not at all.

I was 16 and he was in his 30’s.
I was on holiday in Lanzarote and he was there in his honeymoon.

I still hate that I did that.

JoborPlay · 02/08/2021 19:32

No. Nor did I think I was either. I just wanted to have sex.

WeirdCatLady · 02/08/2021 19:33

Yes. And we’ve been married for 26 years Smile

PigeonPink · 02/08/2021 19:37

Yes. 25 years ago and he’s still the only man I’ve ever truly loved. He said he loved me but I’m not convinced because if that was true then why did he dump me!

godmum56 · 02/08/2021 19:38

yes

Bumpsadaisie · 02/08/2021 19:38

YES! definitely

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 02/08/2021 19:39

No and not under any illusions that I was at the time either. Just felt it was time to get it out of the way.

peachescariad · 02/08/2021 19:39

Yes very much so...he was my first love and no one has ever come close...my fault as I let him go

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 02/08/2021 19:39

I thought I was. I definitely wasn't. It was awful and I still haven't recovered 21 years later.

FuckingHateRats · 02/08/2021 19:40

No. I was 15, he was a friend, we weren't in a relationship. It was GREAT though. Just spur-of-the-moment, wow, you're just out the shower and naked, let's have sex. No regrets.

heidihigh · 02/08/2021 19:40

I was 16, but with a boyfriend who I ended up staying with for nearly 6 years. I guess looking back, I would say no, but at the time I didn't know any better. Hmm

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 02/08/2021 19:40

Yes at 19 and married him.

Calyx72 · 02/08/2021 20:11

No

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 02/08/2021 21:49

No, it was a fucking shambles

Morgoth · 02/08/2021 21:54

Yes I was. I was 17 He was my first proper boyfriend and I was his first proper girlfriend. We had a wonderful 3 years together and then split up amicably at University. I’m really glad it was with him. Of course the first time (like for every one!) was awkward and painful and we were both a bit nervous but I’m glad it was with someone I really cared about and loved.

Echobelly · 02/08/2021 22:02

No - I was actually 21 and finally felt ready for sex and unusually, felt 'something in the air' between myself and a male friend, so we did the deed just after I finished my degree.

We lived about 100 miles apart, so were 'friends with benefits' for a few months but knew it wouldn't go anywhere. No regrets - he was, and is, a friend I love and trust and it wasn't mindblowing sex or anything but it was safe and caring so I have no complaints! A million times better than losing it to some spotty oik who just wants to get his end away when you're a teenager.

Onelifeonly · 02/08/2021 22:03

No, and I didn't even like him that much. Plus it was rubbish. But I was glad to get the first time over.
