... to ask if you were in love with the person you first had sex with?

Something I've been thinking about recently, and had a discussion with friends. Were you in love with the first person you had PIV with?

I was not. Had a BF, I did like him, everyone else was at it, so we did it.

Not looking for any details, just a yes/no vote is OK

YES: I was in love
NO: I was not in love

We were crazy in love! We ended up breaking up five years later, but 24 yrs after the breakup, we met up for coffee and we were just as crazy about each other. 14 years on, we are married and ridiculously in love. He was the first. He will be the last.

I was. I was 17, besotted with a much older man. Very much in love (or what I thought was love.)

Went on to lose ten years of my life to an unmitigated disaster. Blush

Thought I was, but he was rubbish in bed (and he slept with my friend and gave me an std) and it took a while to find someone else who helped me get my confidence back. Karma has bitten him on the arse though as his photo popped up in the papers about 10 years or so ago. He was overweight, bald, bankrupt and nicked for something. He always was a CF.

Yes. I was 18, we'd been dating for over a year, we both thought we might end up married. He'd cooked a really special meal for "afterwards."

We split up three years later. He was lovely, but we both did a lot of growing up at uni and realised we wanted different things from life.

Yes. Quite surprised at all these people saying as they were 16 they couldn't be in love. I was with him for most of my teen years and certainly in love.

Yes, I was 15 but we had been together for about a year and were together for a long time afterwards. I do wonder, if circumstances had been different, if we would still be together now.

I was scared I wouldn't be able to 'do it'. For me the first time was a question of getting it over with. I was pleased to have managed it :-).

Yes it would have been nice to have my first sexual experience with my first love but - didn't happen that way. My first love dumped me before we'd had sex, it took forever to get over him, I was quite numb for a long while.

Not to worry, I did fall in love later and all was well - better actually.

I was curious and he badgered me a bit. He was very keen, think he liked me more than I liked him. We’d been going out together for about 6 months. We had very little in common. I look back and can’t really understand what the hell I was doing with him.

I’ve slept with 20 or so men in my life, I’d say I have been infatuated with 2 and in love with 2. Oh and 2 were FWBs I’m still fond of. The rest just lust or booze or both.
