Locked parking thread 2

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 07:38

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

What kind of farmland is this if there’s not a large bull on the loose in the field with his Defender?

Loubilou09 · 01/08/2021 11:10

I know it's been done and there is no going back but I would rather have sold my soul to the devil than try to find out who owned it! I would have left it there indefinitely...

But hey ho, I guess you had to give in if you need access :)

Thanks for the update x

Batsy · 01/08/2021 11:11

i just can't believe they never came back for it, what were they going to do, just leave it there?

Very strange.

scaffoldingtheworld · 01/08/2021 11:12

I now really fancy a carvery lunch today.

AnneShirley18 · 01/08/2021 11:13

Take a picture of the note on the dash. There is an implied admission that he knew he shouldn't park there. The note validates your version of events, that he had prior warning either from signage or your conversation.

AnneShirley18 · 01/08/2021 11:14

For your own records obviously not to convince us, we are 100% on board!

Ha ha ha! Same...woke up thinking about one :)
HaveringWavering · 01/08/2021 11:17

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon

A carvery lunch in this household is ALWAYS 2.30ish in order to make sure full value for money and it act as both a late lunch and early tea 😉

And yep I've got a business page on FB so my number is readily available on there for anyone to see anyway.

hedgehogger1 · 01/08/2021 11:19

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon the sister? Was she rude to you to to it off?

Glumgal · 01/08/2021 11:19

Blatantly placemarking so I don't miss the update on CF's return.

Happy Birthday OP! Hope he arrives in good time so you can properly enjoy your carvery and the rest of your birthday x

Namechangecharlie999 · 01/08/2021 11:20

I’m aghast at the CF! He needs taking down a peg clearly!

JammyGem · 01/08/2021 11:20

We don't usually have a roast - it's not worth all the effort with just me, DH and toddler DD, but all the talk of the carvery yesterday made me pop to Tesco and we're having one today! Grin

JammyGem · 01/08/2021 11:21

@hedgehogger1 No, that was the batshit poster on the first thread who had apparently figured out exactly where OP lives on google maps... Hmm

DifficultBloodyWoman · 01/08/2021 11:21

I want to go to a car every now!

OP, if you haven’t already don it, get a photo of the note he left on the car window. It would be a good way to show he acknowledged your initial warning but went ahead like a wanker anyway. A ‘cover your ass’ move just in case he complains later.

Nsky · 01/08/2021 11:21

The sheer cheeky of her being forceful, I would been forceful to her back

hedgehogger1 · 01/08/2021 11:22

@JammyGem ah I was lazy and just filtered by OP to get caught up

Biblionerd · 01/08/2021 11:22

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon what sort of reception has the FB posts received? Are locals calling him out for being CF?

Yes, I’d be interested in knowing this!

EvilPea · 01/08/2021 11:25

I’ve ended up volunteering to cook a roast today because of this thread

Are you secretly a Toby troll @BlueEyesWhiteDragon

AddressLabel · 01/08/2021 11:26

When they come and collect the car, walk around it recording it so you have evidence of what condition it was in when they left, in case they claim you scratched it etc.

DrBlackbird · 01/08/2021 11:27

@JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue

My theory is that, after finding himself locked in the second time he returned to the car, he figured he would inconvenience the OP by leaving the car blocking her second drive. He's trying now to cause maximum inconvenience to the OP out of spite.

He won't come back to collect the car, he'll send his sister.

Agree with this ^^

Don’t be swayed OP by you being a nice person!! He could’ve easily come to your door and apologise profusely and asked to be let out. Instead, he reacted to his piqued male ego with spite despite how this seriously affected his poor kids. No woman would have ever responded this way. God. What is it with male entitlement?

I think you've hit on a marketing piece of genius - what better way to subliminally put a product in thousands of peoples heads? Mention it repeatedly during a live ongoing parking CF thread!

Unless there's a deleted comment on this I read it that poster was saying if one could find the property on Google earth one might be able to see a sign. Not saying she had found it as that would be impossible from the scant details in the thread

lastcall · 01/08/2021 11:32

What a twat. Can't believe he didn't even have the balls to contact you himself after fleeing like a coward whilst inconveniencing you (a mere woman!) but had his sister (another mere woman!) do it for him.

I agree about not releasing the car to anyone but him, armed with an apology.

CaptainThe95thRifles · 01/08/2021 11:32

Ah, OP, you may be "old" but you're not an entitled twat who doesn't understand the concept of other people's property Grin
