Locked parking thread 2

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 07:38

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

I agree that you really should not allow anyone other than original CF to take the car OP.

A business near me was embroiled in a really nasty similar sounding sting (involved a diamond ring rather than a car) so just be careful.

Plus, no apology from CF = No Car release. Right?

BertramLacey · 01/08/2021 11:34

I just find it weird that they must be local enough to have been ok getting home without the car last night, so why go to the bother of using The car and parking on someone’s private property in the first place?

A lot of people are lazy and drive to places you can easily walk or cycle to. However, it could be that the place they're cycling is surrounded by busy main roads. For example, Haldon Hill near Exeter is set up for off-road cycling but you'd have to be very careful how you got there if you were on a bike. Or, they may have got a friend to pick them up.

GilbertsLuckySock · 01/08/2021 11:34

Probably best not to share your location online, OP. People forget this is a public forum, anyone including the press can read and extract your post for their own benefit. You could have asked MN to edit your location diagram out of the post. I made that mistake once on here.

Newbie8365 · 01/08/2021 11:34

Placemarking to find out who turns up to collect the car!

Franklydear · 01/08/2021 11:35

I am in a park, next to a carvery, sounds good for lunch while we wait for cd to come back

PegasusReturns · 01/08/2021 11:35

@GilbertsLuckySock are you aware that your posts sound vaguely threatening.

Could you stop?

CandyLeBonBon · 01/08/2021 11:36

This has just turned into a battle of wills!

The pub bore never knows when to stop.

GilbertsLuckySock · 01/08/2021 11:38

@PegasusReturns a diagram on my thread allowed someone on here to find my location once, it’s just advice, how you see threat on that I don’t know.

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 11:39

FB was mainly surprised id say. If you local to me it's we'll known that it's private land as its never bloody open. Also if you've been here long enough youve heard the tales of what the FC does to cars which make the mistake of driving up the tracks and they catch you - some mostly exaggerated but even so.

There was a couple of sarcastic oh we didn't know you offered free secure parking but we'll be sure to use you next time posts to which I have replied in kind threatening the most ridiculous outcome.

There were also a few oh it's doing no harm what's the problem posts but most people piled on them quite quickly mainly about the emergency services being able to get in. We don't often have serious accidents around here - mainly the odd broken bone or something like that - but there has been 2/3 horrific ones in the last 5 (maybe 10) years that have been life changing for the people involved and the local community has not forgotten.

"This has just turned into a battle of wills!"

Oh, what a coincidence if the Parker and OP's DB are both called Will!

What's your beef? The op has already stated that your comments on the previous thread made her uncomfortable. You're being a bit tone deaf tbh.

🤣 If you can work out where OP lives from her little pen diagram of a house, a driveway, a footpath and a car park then that's impressive! There are literally hundreds of Forestry Commission locations OP could live near. You're far too worried about this, probably because of your own experience. But I can't see anything identifying from this or the other thread. Give it a rest now.
GilbertsLuckySock · 01/08/2021 11:42

@BlueEyesWhiteDragonmyoure right about the FC we have the same experience. Our’s is a dead end track but I gave up closing the gate years ago as people still find a way of ignoring the signs, so at weekends there’s dozens of cars there now! Maybe I should start selling cream teas at the entrance Grin

You must have exceptional diagramatic skills or live in a unique place, there's no way anyone expect maybe a close neighbour who has possibly already read this on FB could identify the OP and if anyone is going to find her it will be through the FB post not a pencil drawing on here surely

Oh, you're back! I think you've changed your story to try and seem less creepy. If you were just trying to share your experience, you would have stated that straight away yesterday instead of making vaguely threatening references about being able to easily find the OP and check if she had signs on her gate... One post, the most disturbingly threatening was deleted. (I was the one who mistakenly said your thread was deleted when I was obviously referring to the post that was deleted. You questioned me but the thread was full by the time I tried to respond). Please stop it.

LakieLady · 01/08/2021 11:46

Now that the CF knows you're going out at 2, I bet he (if he doesn't send a sub) turns up at 1.59, to minimise the time available for a humiliating bollocking.

I wonder if he lives close enough to OP's place to have walked home, or if he had to get someone to come and pick him up? Having someone pick him up would explain why he put the bikes back in his car, rather than just cycle home.

And I hope the dogs are out when he rocks up. They can give him a nice greeting that will leave him covered in dog hair, possibly even with added slobber.

To be fair, the penis shaped trees on the OP's diagram must be fairly easy to identify.

GilbertsLuckySock · 01/08/2021 11:48

@caughtinanet it is possible, it happened to me, I live on a sort of similar FC track (with the same parking problems!) and my parking diagram showed the ponds and another identifying feature. Wasn’t a big deal, the person who mentioned it was being helpful suggesting I delete it and didn’t actually state the exact location, just region.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 01/08/2021 11:49

Am staggered that the CF thought this was the best way to deal with things!

I'm also betting that he sends someone else along. If he does come himself though, I would honestly let DB deal with it, as he'll probably try to bluster and bully you.

I will laugh if you've gone out to lunch by the time he bothers his arse to show up though...

GilbertsLuckySock · 01/08/2021 11:51

@PricklesAndSpikes your comments to me were the deleted ones, not mine, that’s clear from the other thread.

I don’t have to reveal my location or background or life story in order to be empathetic to an OP. I still maintain OP was wrong not to let the man’s car be released when he returned, doesn’t mean Im not sympathetic to the whole parking situation for rural residents.

HaveringWavering · 01/08/2021 11:51

Given your batshit rant yesterday about how OP was being unreasonable and should just let it go, I find it very hard to believe you’d ever have started your own parking thread.

Typical cf jealous twats say that! They wouldn’t say it if it was their land or on their driveway

Grin

I'd like to plant a penis-shaped tree on my boundary, in homage to my knob of an NDN. I thought about getting some sort of shrub and having a go at topiary, but thought people might think I was some sort of cock-mad nympho.
