Locked parking thread 2

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

I would be asking for proof of ownership of car!! I wouldn't be releasing it to anyone other than the person that left it there.

DepressedDD · 01/08/2021 08:53

Oh I’d be tempted to go out at lunchtime for another carvery. I’d certainly make him wait for a while when he does turn up, you could be in the middle of an important phone call, etc.

Coffeepot72 · 01/08/2021 08:53

He should definitely have to knock on your door so that you open the gates, and I hope to god he apologises, but beyond that just let him take the car away and be done with it, I think he’s learnt his lesson

KarlUrbansWife · 01/08/2021 08:53

Will DB still be with you at lunchtime?
Not that I think you need him there, more that PPs on your other post were right in that he wouldn't have behaved that way had a man asked him to move his his when he first parked. I really think DB should at least come to the door with you.

DepressedDD · 01/08/2021 08:54

You could also hammer a nail in a tyre. 🤷‍♀️

Penners99 · 01/08/2021 08:54

@RandomMess. Yes! Not the V5 but the original receipt or bill of sale.

Livinthedream84 · 01/08/2021 08:55

So glad I found the update thread! Me and DH were reading last night and it was like a cliffhanger before bed haha.

I hope he does apologise when he picks up the car! I’d make it quite clear I was livid and what an inconvenience he is being. Prick.

Longdistance · 01/08/2021 08:57

I would be giving him a verbal dressing down with a few choice expletives added. What a complete cock!

Dollywilde · 01/08/2021 08:57

Also we’re jesting but isn’t today the birthday celebration? Pretty shitty that you’re having to work your day around this muppet when you’re having a celebration with DB.

DiamondBright · 01/08/2021 08:57

Also relieved to find a new thread, what a wuss.

HeReWeGoAgAiN1112 · 01/08/2021 08:58

Shamelessly place marking for the conclusion!

yeOldeTrout · 01/08/2021 09:00

And then there's me, who said that this situation was causing OP more inconvenience than it's worth. For which I got lots of sharp & unpleasant replies.

Yet here we are, OP's drive is blocked & she stopped having fun with the situation. Doesn't know how the situation will resolve.

Maybe MNers shouldn't egg these scenarios on. Just a suggestion.

InconvenientPeg · 01/08/2021 09:00

Wow! I was expecting an update of man turns up, is not very apologetic, man goes. Not this continuation of CFery.

And a thank you for outstanding diagrams (especially the fuming stick you!) and the carvery picture which elevated the thread to new levels.

Enjoy your second carvery today. Well deserved!

Xenia · 01/08/2021 09:00

Good luck! We have had people parking where they should not on this private estate (that everyone uses for walks and all sorts as we are not gated for various reasons). It is very annoying, never mind the litter they drop.

Bargebill19 · 01/08/2021 09:01

.

FunnyWonder · 01/08/2021 09:02

Like a pp upthread, what I don't understand is why he bothered his arse loading bikes and kids into a car if he's close enough to cycle home from the crime scene. I'd just be grabbing bikes and heading out.

He's taken brass neckery(!) to a whole new level. Makes the annoying parents who park across the driveway at DS's school look like amateurs!

LampBookPicture · 01/08/2021 09:02

Can't wait to hear what happens when he turns up. Don't be intimidated OP!

QueenStromba · 01/08/2021 09:03

What should she have done? Invalidate her insurance by leaving the gate open? She hasn't inconvenienced herself, the CF has.
cameocat · 01/08/2021 09:03

Do not apologise. You have done nothing wrong.

Cerebelle · 01/08/2021 09:03

What a cock! Urgh bet he sends someone else to fetch it.

LunaBunaTuna · 01/08/2021 09:05

I can’t believe the car isn’t being collected until lunchtime. Surely if you’ve been a complete twat and inconvenienced someone for a day, you don’t compound your mistake by inconveniencing longer than necessary. Hmm

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon I salute you and your balls of steel!

hedgehogger1 · 01/08/2021 09:08

Definitely add a message to say you have been massively inconvenienced and give a one hour (generous) window where you will be available.

Hellodarknessmyoldpal · 01/08/2021 09:10

I doubt he'll turn up himself so make sure you explain in detail what a cheeky prick he has been and ask the message to be passed on although if a woman chaps the door explaining she is his sister you can't really be sure she is...

Maybe some sort of animal waste just behind the tyres for it to be driven over. Something that smells bad.

Sunbird24 · 01/08/2021 09:11

OP didn’t do anything but lock her gate exactly when she told CF she would. CF clearly lives within child’s cycling distance so didn’t even need to drive in the first place, and only had to knock on the door to ask for the gate to please be opened so he could move his car off private property he’d been told not to park on to start with.

Jumpingintosummer · 01/08/2021 09:14

I’m just horrified people were trying to find you on the map Confused
