Locked parking thread 2

Sorry everyone I didn't post a new thread last night but I was a bit freaked out by the comment about finding me online at the end.

Anyway as the world's most boring update it is still here but someone is coming round about lunchtime to pick it up.

I rang 101 and reported it and that I was concerned they'd essentially vanished. They said there wasn't anything they could do about the car as its on private land but I could be liable for any damage if I moved it and that they would check on the registered owner.

I posted it on a couple of the local Facebook groups last night saying
"Anyone know whose cat this is? Please get them to contact me urgently on xxxx as itll be being towed tomorrow"

I had a response from the guys DS and she said she'd contact him and get him ring me. He hasn't rang me but she messaged me back to say he'd collect it at lunchtime if that was OK. I've said fine but we going out at at 2 so if he's not here before then he won't be able to get it till we get back later.

And that's it really.

I'm in the Lake District and we've had thousands of entitled twunts blocking the roads round here. I can't wait till they all feck off back to Benidorm and the like. Hope you get sorted soon OP.

FuckingHateRats · 01/08/2021 08:32

I bet he won't show face either. What a cowardly twat!

Mountainpika · 01/08/2021 08:34

He is the wicked step-father who took the children to the forest and left them there. The children are now being held prisoner by a weird old woman in a gingerbread house. She is at least feeding them well - and has a large cauldron of water on the fire to which she's adding assorted ingredients as she consults her ancient recipe book..........

Window1 · 01/08/2021 08:35

So went he came back to the car a couple of times yesterday, rather than realise the error of his ways and seek to correct his mistake, he thought nah, I'll just leave the car there?!! Anyone on FB comment on the CFery of it?

What if you genuinely were off on your holidays and needed to get past that car, or had really important farm work to get done, any number of reasons why blocking access all that time could have been massively inconvenient for you. He's seriously lacking in something to not what to right this wrong at the earliest opportunity.

I cannot believe the downright audacity of this guy and feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with him in day to day life. Is anyone else next level fuming this morning with this update. (Especially as it's highly likely he won't be turning up to collect in person.)

He wins MN for the ultimate CF.

BruceAndNosh · 01/08/2021 08:35

I'd message his sister again and make it clear the gate is only being unlocked for the original driver and not his deputy

ImSoMagical · 01/08/2021 08:35

Wow can't believe it's still there! They must have biked home!

FeatheredHope · 01/08/2021 08:35

I just find it weird that they must be local enough to have been ok getting home without the car last night, so why go to the bother of using The car and parking on someone’s private property in the first place?

Window1 · 01/08/2021 08:35

@BruceAndNosh

I'd refuse to unlock the gate for anyone other than the original driver of the car, after a personal apology
The least that is deserved.
Mountainpika · 01/08/2021 08:35

Proof of ID before anyone is allowed to take the car. And a ransom.

Hidehi4 · 01/08/2021 08:37

🤣🤣 what a little pussy. I hope u keep them gates closed when he arrives so he has to ask for them open, as I bet he thinks they will be open for him

TraLaLaLaLaLaLaa · 01/08/2021 08:41

Those poor children having such a dickhead for a father

Bogofftosomewherehot · 01/08/2021 08:41

Charge him for vehicle storage at £5 per hour.

BigasdaB · 01/08/2021 08:42

Can’t believe it’s still there! Cheeky fucker indeed. I also put money on him not collecting it himself.

Howshouldibehave · 01/08/2021 08:44

I wonder how long he was just intending to leave it there?!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 01/08/2021 08:44

Thanks for the update, OP! I hope he's polite when he turns up.

Faevern · 01/08/2021 08:44

I bet he sends someone else, what a knob, he would rather have his kids climb into your yard than knock on your door.

I wonder what would have happened if you had not posted on Facebook?

And now all the local Facebookers know what a knob he is too Smile

RookieRoo · 01/08/2021 08:45

What are the legal ramifications if there were nails abs screws lying around your farmyard beneath his tyres due to work around the driveway? Probably best not to in case he has a blow out but it would be tempting.

I hope he comes and apologises to you. What a dick.

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 01/08/2021 08:45

I am just mystified.
In my head it went. Lock him in. Him return and ask to be let out. Make him wait for 15/20 mins why I find keys / prat about. probably apologise for the inconvenience Him drive off. Done. Slightly entertaining thread for MN.

Instead I've got. Lock him in. Him return get something out the car. Go again. Return put something in the car. Go missing for hours. Me start to mildly worry. Me start to feel horrifically guilty about where the hell are him and his kids. Post a bemused come get your car on FB. Get a message he'll collect the car today. I almost feel like I should be apologising to him for the inconvenience! I damn well am not going to though.

Faevern · 01/08/2021 08:46

Oh and if your responsible for the car on your land you can’t let anyone but him take it, surely?

BarryTheKestrel · 01/08/2021 08:47

Absolute cheeky fuckery. He'll send someone else to collect it, almost certain. Coward.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 01/08/2021 08:47

First thread here

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/08/2021 08:48

I don’t think he’s going to be fretting at home. He will work it to his favour, these types always do.

Car parks would have clamped or towed him away by now. Really he’s getting away with it. Doubt his life is inconvenienced. Especially if he’s getting someone else to pick it up. Which must involve two people at least. One to drive the collector there and one to drive the CF car home.

TheSunShinesBrighter · 01/08/2021 08:51

Can you message the person who responded on FB and ask for (demand) a definite collection time?

Explain that you can’t just leave the gate open for all the reasons stated in thread one.

Tell them that you are going out at 2pm and are busy with the animals throughout the day.

DO. NOT. APOLOGISE! Imagine us all backing you up. HE should be apologising ffs!
CarlaH · 01/08/2021 08:52

I suppose he just rang somebody maybe the sister to come and pick him and the children up rather than talk to the OP.

I bet he sends somebody else to collect it as well.
